hello guys
there is many roms in this forum for the mi 5 but i am looking for a rom that combine some of MIUI features with the stock android look.
is there a rood out there that have the MIUI security app and MIUI app lock option and the hiddin gallery option with the look and feel of a stock android like LineageOs for example ?
There isn't really a rom that has Miui features as Miui relies heavily on Miui framework. Can install another rom and apply Miui icons etc
not the icons that i want .
i am talking about security center and app locks option and that option in gallery where you can hide some pictures and you can access them by sliding down ...
Use MIUI rom with nougat/Oreo theme
theme won't change the notifications and statue bar style it will change only the icons
lineage os has app lock functionality built in ..
go and install resurrection remix-- it has more options for customizations than you will ever use...
MIUI themes change everything from notification area, status bar, settings etc not just icons. Plenty stock Oreo or nougat themes available for miui
but it has bugs too
Maybe you all fed up with Google's decision to allow pull-down of statusbar in locked phone.
As I am, even made a bug report but Xiaomi is thicc: http://en.miui.com/thread-3078766-1-1.html
Well I found a fix for this at least in Xiaomi's MIUI:
Just flash China ROM & replace this 2 folders in the /system/priv-app/
- MiuiSystemUI
- Settings
with the one from xiaomi.eu, of course this needs root & same xiaomi.eu version as your phone.
You'll got those features back in Settings like in MIUI 9. I tried it myself.
For you who use China Stable Oreo in Mi 5s Plus, you can try my Magisk mod for this.

As this will only work in specific device/MIUI version, my module only works for Natrium China ROM - MIUI 10.1.3.0 (Oreo) or Clover China ROM - MIUI 10.1.1.0 (Oreo)!!
You can use this as template and get xiaomi.eu ROM for your respective device, extract the ROM & get those 2 folders inside /system/priv-app and replace the one in my module, touch nothing and flash in your magisk and see in the Settings > Notification & status bar -> Show on secure lock screen.
Disable that if you don't want anyone to mess with your locked phone via quick-toggle.
Some way to do that on AOSP roms, like Android 10 (Q) ?
Motorola One hasn't this option...
Decided to share with all of you a collection of 23 FoD animations to use on Android 10 Stock ROM.
These animations were taken from Evolution X ROM and were converted/adapted in order to work while on stock ROM.
To use them you must flash the Typhus_FoD_Animations.zip Magisk Module and, afterwards, just use Rom Control app that you have on MiA3 Mods module.
Cheers!
Nice to see this for stock. Really nice fod animations
So I just switched over from a Moto G5 to this phone. The first thing I did was install LineageOS 19.1 (after playing with the stock rom a bit). I gotta be honest… I'm not loving Android 12. Are there any still active Android 11 builds left? Everything I've looked at here are either 12 or 13 now.
Back on the G5, there were some folks that were posting updated Lineage builds with back ported patches (even back to L14). How hard is it to do that? I admit I'm clueless at actually building the rom, but if it is something that can be learnt fairly easily, I'd be game to try
There is Proton Rom

Alternatively, have you tried using AOSP MOD module?

If you don't like the look of Android 12 or 13, perhaps the AOSP MOD module can change how it looks to your liking?

I might take a look at that module, but I've been avoiding anything xposed so far.
IMO A12 is just fuggly and that's the biggest reason I want to ditch it.
Ideally, I'd like to find a build of Lineage18.1 that has any/all security patches backported (or learn how to do it myself) Even better, find a way to get Oreo or Pie to work on the Pixel5
I hated A12 for a long time. Didn't really get on it til A13 was out.
Between quick settings customization and repainter for color customization it really helps.
I'm able to use the stock Pixel ROM happily with AOSP MODs. I think that the quick settings look really nice with the help of AOSP MODs.
I'd give it a solid chance before saying it isn't for you, and if it isn't I think the best A11 ROM is crdroid.
Could be others but Crdroid A11 ROM was my ROM of choice before upgrading.
P5 came with A10 IIRC, so you may be able to get that going but anything below that I'd be surprised.

I actually felt the same about android 12, just didn't fit my eye. So about 6 months ago, I installed the latest stock version of android 11. I was originally planning to root the P5, and install flar's kernel, but everything has run so well, I've not gone any further. I still may install twrp, and give elemental a try ... we'll see. My advice, go for it.
@andybones hey how did you get your QS tiles to be bigger, like in your screenshot, and labels underneath the icons? Is it the premium feature of repainter app? I really like that style and look.

I love this feature, it's actually a wonderful mod in AOSP MODs "Move tile icons to the top"

Hah funny story. I used Fox's Magisk Module Manager to download AOSP MOD but for some reason, the latest version in Fox app was v2.2, not v2.4. I was wondering why I didn't have that option until I realised that I was using the wrong version! Anyway, updated to the latest v2.4. and now I see that option. Thanks for your reply, otherwise I would've never realised it.

Glad I was able to help you figure it out!
This is why I like to flash the canary versions.
I find that it's very stable.
I have LineageOS installed on my Redmi Note 10 5G and randomly the keyboard will go through this loop of:
Appearing for .25s-2.5s
Disappearing for 3-10s
and it is really irritating. I haven't found a fix for this but I can temporarily fix it by restarting. Please help me find a permanent fix!
EDIT: Not sure if I should re-flash the ROM to something other than LineageOS (e.g. Pixel Experience) and that'll fix it.
I ended up reflashing to the latest version of Treble Pixel Experience, hopefully this has fixed it. Until it disappears again, consider this the fix.
whats ur opinion in LineageOS or Pixel Experiance ? I would try it

pe is just fully stock android from "Google Pixel's" with some tweaks (just like all of the roms and gsis too) to boot on other devices. No customization whatsoever, so if you wish to have a stock android experience with nothing special then pe is the best
Lineage os is balanced to stock experience with some customizations and a few more gapps included, but from some sources says that their open source apps give you more privacy, and the rom gives you access to set more privacy like "Trust", "Privacy guard", "Protected Apps" and scrambling PIN in lock screen
so go to pixel experience if you just want a full stock android experience, or lineage os for more privacy and some customizations
