Since the update to 10.0.3.0 I found a task named Android Setup in my tasklist. Seems to bundle some of the Google stuff. Do you have it too?
You can check it inside developer options with running services. My brother has a Nokia 7 Plus with Pie and January patch aswell and he doesn't
have it.
Wondering same thing, it seems some notification watcher for play services?

It's just the data recovery service which recovers the cloud backup on your phone that starts when you first setup your phone.
Don't know why it's running on your phone when it's not needed. It doesn't show up on mine.
I am running the latest January update.
That's the reason. If you don't use don't disturb, just put it off.

is there a difference? should there be a preference from one way or another?
I would assume the most secure way would be via the mi store.
Thanks! Should get my mi later!

I think every new Mi Mix owner should initially experience their Mix before rooting.
I had mine a week before I decided to root.
I downloaded from the Mi store and installed the store, framework, calendar, etc that let's you use the G Apps. After a few days you'll decide if you find the Mi ads, and permission requests merit flashing TWRP, Rooting and installing another ROM. I'm currently on the EU Rom and the Mix is amazing once appropraitely rooted and optimized
cheers

Hi
I am on China Dev rom, how is the EU rom different, besides no Mi apps and default Google apps? Seems a big task to root and go EU so not really sure. And I guess, when Nougat arrives, it would first come to this China Dev rom.
Hi, I have a Moto z play with a custom ROM based on 7.1.1 but I can't open tasker.
Anyone can help me?
Hi, i'm currently running LineageOS witch is based in 7.1.1 Nougat. I have no issues running Tasker. I restored all my apps with Titanium Backup.

Crazy things huh?
Hi there.
After updating to latest Stable Global ROM, I have no voice on my google Assistant. This happened in my mi max 1, but that was rooted, and I fixed it using Build Prop editor. This phone is currently not rooted, and was wondering if there was a solution.
And to add, I have no plans on rooting this phone any time soon.
thanks.
I can't update Google Maps no more. Google Play says that Maps it's not compatible with Mi Mix 2 anymore.
Perhaps the beta version is no longer compatible. I have maps on my mi mix 2 working without a problem.
Same here but able to upgrade it by dowbloading the apk from apkmirror. Used the universal one otherwise stays in english.

I got this issue too. I solved it with Pixel 2 fingerprints and simulating that device, with MagiskHide Props Config module. You should use the ARMv8-A version.

Hi, have you tried this using latest MIUI Beta version? Which ROM do you use?
In my case, with latest Beta, System UI error and cannot boot.

I'm on the last Pixel Experience, but it happened even with the earlier version. Now it's ok. I reverted the device simulation and I don't see that message.
Well, MIUI Roms doesn't accept Google fingerprints... so SystemUI doesn't work with that change.
After recovering my phone (manually unnistalling Magisk module) I've retried with Xiaomi Mi 6 Fingerprint... and I've correctly updated Google Maps Beta.
Best regards.
Hi ...the intelligent developers of xda community...I recently purchased Rog phone II 8/128 tencent edition. It came with ww edition fingerprint as well ww rom . It also passes the safetynet test and Google pay works...it's stuck on October security patch though and Android 9 ...is there a way to get it to Android 10 and latest security patch. Manually downloading and putting the new rom in root folder does not work the phone detects the file but does not update it says updates failed.
Is there a way to update it?
Be or not to be...!
Hello, in order to be able to update you have to be on the latest A9 which is WW-1910.64 12/19/2019. From there you'll be able to upgrade to A10.
It works for me at least, using Asus updater app Wich you can find here in one of the threads.
There is 4 versions of the app, try them all until one of them works. Good luck amigo.
I have global and i dont get otas without root. Only when asus want send me the ota
Allways have to download manually
Best option is download package copy to storage and asus detect the package install reboot and done
