Tab S2 8.0 - which models are rootable and bootloader unlockable? - Galaxy Tab S2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I want to pick up a Galaxy Tab S2 8.0. I think they came in about 6 different models in the US. Which models are rootable and can have the bootloader unlocked? I don't want to screw up and get the wrong one! Do you guys recommend any specific model? It seems like the 2016 models are better than the earlier ones...
Thanks in advance,
Tom

I have the 713 which is the 2016 version. After waiting 7+ months for a security update, I unlocked the bootloader, flashed TWRP and installed LineageOS 15.1. It works great and the Google security updates are up to date. Instructions are widely available on the web.

Have you recieved the Marshmallow Update?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/sprint-galaxy-s5/general/sprint-gs5-android-6-0-t3336758
Actually the S5 (G900M) which is the nearest device if compared to the International Version (G900F) except for few different LTE Bands has already received the Marshmallow Update late last month.. but then suddenly Samsung released an Update based on 5.0 (Lollipo) with "March Security Patch" for almost all regions, I really got confused after that and can't immagine what is Samsung planning to do about it!
(OBS: But having G900F as my wife does, you guys are far better than I am, cause I actually use the S5+ (G901F) which haven't received any updates for the last few days since October 2015! We live in Ireland but my wife uses BTU CSC, so she always get the Updates as earlier as they're released. In my case we have few Unlocked CSC's to use, only Nordic Countries (NEE) that is the first to receive updates and the Netherlands (PHN) which receives one once a while.. Hahaaa')

Variant compatibility for SM-N920V? (Verizon)

Hi, I've just bought a Samsung Galaxy Note 5, N920V I presume.
But the issue I'm having is, there's pretty much no kernel or rom which supports this variant. Could anyone help me understand which variants are compatible. Most releases seem to be released for N920C, would I brick my phone if I flashed such a rom/kernel?
I come from an LG G2 which had 4 incompatible variants.
Yes there's no compatibility.
Only stock roms.
It doesn't have root or bootloader unlock yet.
Flashing anything else would brick it.

Changing from N950W to N950U

Hey there, looking to change my firmware from N950W to N950U, from my understanding its a US firmware (Mine is Rogers Canada) both are Snapdragon, are there any compatibility issues I could run into?
Build I'm looking to go to is N950USQS2BQK2
My current build is N950WVLU2BQJA
I'm coming from the Pixel XL it's been awhile since I've done anything with Samsung devices, last one was a Galaxy S4 Google Play Edition!

There are some who have tried and succeeded...I cannot confirm though...but if you want to try yourself follow this guide...the switching carrier guide:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=74087340&postcount=1
Officially it is meant for SM-N950U and SM-N950U1 devices though...make sure to use updated files and perform factory reset after Odin of factory binary

Is there a list of S10 phones with snapdragon that can be rooted?

Given the recent news with the S21, I want to go ahead and purchase an S10 for my significant other. I read in another thread that S10s from China have both snapdragon and can be rooted and I wasnt sure if there were other models similar in this regard? Also what is the model for the Chinese variant?
ALL S10 phone variants can be rooted. The China model is G975O or G975F I think though.
all the models are BOOTLOADER unlock able as well . the guy charges for the service but ive been here since day 1 (Galaxy phone) and I can attest 100% that he's legit. For more info seek this link:

Question S21 ultra still on one ui 3.0

I bought a used galaxy s21 ultra from a local store that buys & sells and used phones. It's network unlocked with att firmware. It is using Android 11 and one is 3.1. Its latest security patch is Sept 1 2021 When I attempt to update, the phone, it tells me that it's up to date.
Is it normal for a recent flagship device to be over a year behind on security updates and coming now it's about to be 2 Android versions behing
What is the version of your s21 ultra...
SM-G998U
You can check here what the latest firmware is for the phone:
https://samfrew.com/model/SM-G998U/
Change CSC maybe?
Can you post the exact build?
Prob someone manually flashing the wrong firmware on it so no AT&T OTAs will work, but easily fixed.
If you post the version it should be obvious.

There are ways to manually update it, using a PC
