Everytime I get a text this bubble shows up. How do I disable this?
Disable it in advance feature - popup view

When you use an add on SMS, is there a way to make it so I only see the notification from the add on SMS client? So I dont get the same notice twice for a text message in the notification bar..
Right now I get a notice for both the default SMS and the add on SMS I am using when I get a text..
Open your text messages through the original messaging client, go to settings and disable notifications

but it seems that closing the popup or even doing a quick reply doen'st remove the notificatoin in the status bar as well as the notification on the app itself.
any work around?
don't want to install another SMS application
maybe you should turn off the notification in messages settings
I want to keep it on to alert me of unread msgs

does anyone know how I can enable notification preview? for example when I get a new text or email the notification bar shows a preview of who sent the text and a bit of what was sent. I know when I was on CM 10.2 i had that feature. thanks!
go to the messaging app, click the menu button, go to settings, then the more tab. About half way down is "preview message", make sure that box is checked to get a preview on the lock screen and status bar

Also if there is room in the notification tray you can swipe down some notifications and they'll expand. Like for gmail if I swipe down it shows more and gives me the option to reply or delete.
Doesn't seem to work if there are many notifications present.

Is there any way to have notifications light up the display and show the notification details like they are displayed after double tap ?
Glance only shows tiny icons of apps, with no details at all.

You can use an app called lightflow, so it will turn on full screen when u receive notifications
Hi all
I've just bought the Note 9 after managing to crack the screen of my Note 8, which was also on Android 9 and One UI.
Since getting the new phone, I've had some issues with notifications when the screen is off - Whatsapp doesn't notify, unless I switch notifications on but then I'm stuck with the annoying whatsapp pop-up, and it doesn't show up on lock screen notifications.
As well as this, I also have a problem with whatsapp when screen on, not showing all messages. It will either say "conversation: x messages" or "x messages from y conversations"
I had this working just perfectly on my note 8 but I'm really struggling on the Note 9! I hope someone can help?!

The pop-up notification can be disabled in WhatsApp settings > Notifications > Pop-up Notifications > No pop-up.
Check your lock-screen notification settings and then individual app setting of Whatsapp (new addition in Pie) and check if notification is disabled on lock screen.

Do you have many unread chats? Try marking some of them as Read.
If the notification is minimal, then the Message Notification (in individual notification setting) may have been set as 'Silent and Minimized'.

When I disable whatsapp popup, nothing happens, just the screen doesn't wake up at all when a whatsapp alert comes in.
Have checked app setting, which seems ok, and notification on lock screen isn't hidden

Hey, can I have the screenshot of the pop-up you're referring to? I think I may have confused heads-up notification with WhatsApp Message Pop-up.

Hiya,
in terms of the pop up issue, I've found something from the forum which seems to have restored it - disabling lightedge whilst screen on. I'm a bit annoyed about this as I quite like the effect, and it does disable it for all apps, even all the others which work perfectly fine, but hey ho!
My main issue really is whatsapp not waking the screen unless I turn on the whatsapp notification, and I hate that box lol
Thats the real thing I want to try and find a cure for if possible......
