Recently I found how to disable search function on home screen on my Mate 10 Pro.
Search function is called when you scroll on empty area on home screen and the search activity is launched when using default launcher or Huawei Home,
this function if sometimes accidentally launched when I try to drag status bar window down. its quite annoying.
1. you need rooted phone.
2. use MyAndroidTools app. (search for apk, like here https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/wangqi/my-android-tools/)
3. go to services, find on system apps, HiSearch system app.
4. service to disable is called LauncherOverlayService. (screenshot attached)
5. search function is gone, of course you can still launch it from camera if you are on Android Pie.

You don't need a rooted device, I uninstalled the HiSearch app trough an ADB command .

I manged to install the apps from the link with out ROOT, Bootloader Unlocked UNLOCKED or anything else, turn off WIFI and just execute, ignore Play Protect advise ( is because is not from Google Play ), choose to install any way!
They have Huawei signature.
Apps are Google Camera and Sony Music Player with Lyrics plugin, Youtube Plugin and equalizer.
If you try it tell me how it works for you!

Hi.
Why is the need to turn off Wi-Fi? Will not be able to install the application with the active Wi-Fi? I downloaded Google Camera. Play Protect suggested not to install the application. Nevertheless, I installed it. At present I have a middle of the night and so on quickly, the pictures work, I do not record movies. I have verified that from the level of the Google store the application is not available for my device [emoji848].
Thanks for your work.

Hi!
I explained that in main post.
Play protect use WIFI to check and detect that apps are not from Google Play Store and block installation, and Google Camera or Sony music player cannot be installed trough Google Play Store that is why i wrote "ported apps"!
But installation works!
What phone do you have?
P8LITE 2017 to?
.
Is These apps Work On ALE-L21?
Does this Works on ALE L21 in ur Power ROM MOD??
So far I don't see a way to disable Bixby. Google Assistant won't work at all when I dload it. Anyone have a work around for this? I have the OS 9 update installed and running the phone on AT&T's network. Using Nova Launcher as well. Feedback would be greatly appreciated.
With "Package Manager" (available on Play store) or ADB comnands (adb shell pm uninstall -k –user 0 name.of.package), disable these packages

}
Then remap your Bixby button with something like Button Mapper Pro (other alternatives exist on the Play Store too)

Personally the only two Bixby packages I kept enabled are:
They're used by the Camera app for Bixby Vision, and it's quite useful

I did not use any work around or configure
my Bixby button to launch Google Assistant.
Even though, I have a bxActions (Bixby button remapper) installed,
I use the Bixby button for other functions.
I'm also using Nova Launcher (Prime)
Stock, no root.
My Note 9 is on Android Pie.
I know there's a few different ways to
configure Google Assistant .
Anyway i have configured my Home button
(long press ) in Nova Prime Settings, (see screenshot)
Further,
I have (alternatively) enabled
Google Assistant, always on (listening)
So i can call/wake phone from sleep or in any app.
Work fine, no issues.
This always on, setting you can find in the relevant Google settings on device.
Then yes the other ways are with a Bixby
button remapper, which i have tested /tried
in the past, but prefer above.
Note that i have not disabled or freezed
any Bixby functions at all.
I don't have any issues of Bixby interfering.
Good luck.
I use bxactions pro. It's worth purchasing. You can remap the Bixby button to enable your Google assistant. You can remap the volume buttons as well. App is well made and easy to follow. They have the free version which you can try. It might be all you need.
Hello, on the old phone one day I received a notification that said "you want to activate DO NOT DISTURB automatically when driving?" I clickes "yes" and this appeared in the menu.

I think they disable that option because it wasn't "smart " enough to detect if you were driving, a passenger or even on a train.
There are two options to enable DnD (do not disturb). None is a native option. First, like I do, install android auto and set the bluetooth device. The second one is an app named driving inspector.
Hope it helps.

It is possible to "copy" the native options from my S7 edge?
I want this function because I use it every day with no other app installed :/
PS: I searched "driving inspector" on google and play store but I can't find it.
I have finally got the last MIUI 12.5 update alongside Android 11. Everything was fine except the fact that I cannot remove the bubble notifications.
I have followed all the workaround online but it seems that MIUI rom is slight difference and I cannot find this option:

someone has fixed this?
Download activity launcher, search (with the search button) for notifications, then under the settings app entry, tap on notifications, it will open the settings page.
Xiaomi apparently forgot to enable the page in the settings. There are a couple more hidden settings as well, such as interpolated frames on videos and something with more vivid/hdr like recording of videos.

this is interesting: where can I check these video settings?
anyway I have managed to sort with the bubbles stuff: there is written "manage" under the bubble, so tiny that was impossible to spot. Anyway Xiaomi have to implement the settings because if some are hide then are useless

Just go through the settings app section, I don't remember which setting you need to open, plus I think it only works on the xiaomi video/gallery apps.

hold on, you are telling me to go to settings app section, but earlier you were mentioning to download activity launcher. Is this a third party app? I wouldn't install additional apps but, in case I have to, which app is? I cannot find on Play Store.
Whenever any notification comes, there is More option and.notifications from that app can be directly managed for future

I'm talking about activity launcher, go to the settings app section inside the activity launcher app and open all subsections one by one till you find it.
Here's the app.
ehi, anyway I think I sorted: there is a "manage" option under the bubble which is basically invisible but is there. once you click on that command you can remove bubbles and check other settings.

For some of the categories like Sports, Weather, Finance, etc. you would have seen a prompt like the one above on the Google Discover feed.
If you choose 'No, thanks', you may not see it again. Google app doesn't provide a way to add these to your homescreen (only Google knows why) if you change your mind later.
One way to bring back the prompt is to delete Google Play Services data, something which is often NOT a viable option. If you have paired your smartwatch with your phone, you shouldn't delete this data as it holds the pairing key for your watch. You'll have to factory reset your watch, pair it again with your phone and redo all the setup on your watch from scratch. For me who is having 300 apps and watch faces installed on the watch, with no way to backup and restore the data, this is an option that is untouchable.
HOW TO BRING THESE SHORTCUT PROMPTS AGAIN?
1. Open a Chromium based browser with Google as it's search engine.
2. Open Incognito (Private) tab.
3. Type Sports (or any category whose shortcut you want to add) and start the search.
4. It will open the Google Sports web app in the browser and the prompt to add shortcut will show up.
5. If you click on Add, you'll see this:
6. Click on Leave. This will then give the option to add the shortcut to the homescreen:
I have seen that this launcher prompt above doesn't always show up (not sure if this is because I already have this shortcut on my homescreen). In that case, close the incognito tab, open a new one, and go through the steps once again and it will show up.
Tested to work on Android 13 on multiple devices.
7. The shortcut on your homescreen will now open in Google app (not the browser that was used to create it), and this is what we want.
Hope this helps.
