I have rooted amazon tv box and I would like to send it to my friend.
How I can disable amazon updates since I don't know his amazon credentials to enable adb?
Is it possible to log in under my email and disable amazon updates, after that just log out? Will disable updates stay after logging out?
Thank you so much for your help

You are in the wrong thread, this is for Fire tablets. You are looking at fire tvs, but aftvnews has guides and updates. Here is a link to disable through shell on a rooted fire tv.

Hi,
just received Kindle Fide HD from Amazon (NOT the newest one) and am unsure what order to set the device up in (excuse the grammar!)
Do I register it with Amazon on my account, then pay to remove ads, then root it to allow access to Google Play store?
Or if I root it first, does that remover the ads automatically, then register with Amazon?
Can I use the device without registering with Amazon? How do I know which method to use to rrot it and set up Google Play - there seem to be many varieties of rooting available on this forum...
Advice for newbie gratefully accepted.
Thanks
Nibbos
I recommend registering it for now, root it with binary's root, and once you have root you can disable the ads by renaming a file instead of paying 20$. Here's binary's root: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1886460

You can use it without registering if you want to put a custom ROM on it. If not, then you can't.

It depends on whether or not you want to use Amazon's services, such as the Kindle reading experience. If you do, you must register the Kindle. Disabling the lock screen ads (and the lock screen itself) is easy. Once I get my Kindle out of it's bricked state (I'm waiting for a pair of breakout boards to come in the mail), I'm thinking of creating some flashable zips to do this automatically.

You can just flash an Amazon zip and register it that way. I keep an Amazon nandroid to flash should I need to.
Root and play services all went without a hitch, but I cannot run an app that requires an additional permission normally accessed via settings>security>apps with usage access. It simply does not exist in the settings menu on the kindle. Is there any way to add the option or access the setting another way?
I've attached a screenshot of the app at the point it gets stuck.
Did you ever get this working?
Sorry, this isn't an answer. For some reason, posting a comment isn't working on this site in any web browser. In any case, I've got the exact situation you do (same HW/SW/root). I'm even trying to get the same app working through the google play store that you are, and am seeing the same message. Did you ever find a solution to this? Were you ever able to get MobileFence running on the Fire?
It is not available on Fire OS. Since Amazon has no use for Google play services. You would have to
Install a different ROM. I would ditch Fire Os and set it up as a kids tablet under CM or SlimLP. There is a good thread on how to do it in the Fire forum.
This proves Jeff Bezos is as big a crooks as the rest of them.
This stinks to high heaven!
Actually no, business model is solid even though it displeases some. Purchase a different device If you dislike Amazon's ecosystem.
This should work: https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/help/guide-workaround-apps-access-to-usage-t3535705
I know this is an old post, but since I came across it looking for a solution, I thought I should answer for others that come across this looking for a solution...
I found the answer on this thread, but here's the tl;dr version:
Download App Ops, which also requires Shizuku Manager.
I was trying to install AppLock which has a similar issue and this fixed it for me.
Hi All,
I'm having some issues with my Kindle Books app, when I go into the library most of my books appear as greyed out and won't open, there seems to be no difference between books downloaded to the device and books stored in the cloud. Only two books seem to work and I think both of these were purchased after the issue first ocurred. The odd thing is that if I go via the books store and select the "read now" button, the book will open on my device. Not really sure what's going on here, any thoughts on what I an do to fix this?
Running Fire OS 5.3.1 with root and ota blocked (by renaming file).
Thanks,
Jonny

Not immediately sure about your Kindle Books issue but first need to get the facts straight on your device. FireOS 5.3.1 is not rootable at present so you must be running another version or don't actually have root. This could be relevant as some apps behave differently on rooted devices.

I used this tutorial to do it. It allows 5.3.1 to be rooted using 5.1.2 bootloader.

Yep - welcome to the 1% club (ok - maybe 5%) that followed this procedure and opted to remain on FireOS. I actually thought about that possibility when penning my previous response but felt mentioning it would only lead to confusion. My bad.
As for Kindle Books have you tried uninstalling/reinstalling the app? I realize this may be a challenge as the version included with FireOS is a system app different (and possibly not readily available) than the generic Android app. You might also try clearing the app data store which *should* be repopulated from Amazon cloud on initial connection after the flush.

Yeah, I know it's an unusual choice, will probably install a custom rom at some point but for now Nova launcher and Fire OS is good enough for me
In more relevant news clearing the app data store seems to have worked a treat, thanks for your help
I'm on n the same boat, running Fire OS 5.3.1 with 5.0.1 bootloader. That's the only way that FreeTime works for my kids. Wish they just made free time available in he Google. Play store
5th gen Fire 7". So I have downgraded from 5.4.0.1 to 5.4.0.0, I know how to install GP services and such. I was able to uninstall Amazon apps from adult profile and had things working good, however forgot to test my daughters account with FreeTime. Now, off the bat I figured out uninstalling anything to do with Amazon's App Store is prolly the biggest/most likely cause for FreeTime not working. I also suspect the possibility of the Silk browser as there is a child's version also on their account.
I have already factory reset with the new unbloat tool, blocked OTA, installed GP services, I want to get rid of any and all Amazon bloatware I can and obviously know for sure the Amazon appstore has to stay now, guessing Silk browser too. Does anyone else know or have recommendations on what amazon apps I can also get rid of that wouldn't cause issues with the child's account and FreeTime? I'm about to proceed uninstalling apps few by few to test for now and go about this trial and error but if anyone else has any insight or knowledge I'd greatly appreciate it. I'm trying as hard as I can to thinks of any apps tied to the functions of FreeTime so I avoid uninstalling them.
Also, I have tried so hard to just keep reading and not post to ask for help too early but while I am at it, what is the difference between pm uninstall, pm hide, and pm disable? obviously I have a guess on each but would hide or disable have a different effect on how Freetime acts when dependency files are messed with?

'pm disable' is a little more granular than 'pm hide' as it can work against broadcast receivers, components, etc. Regardless, both are easily reversible so probably not worth considering in this context. 'pm uninstall' permanently disables access to the target app from the user account from which the command was issued.
I need to install a remote management tool on my kids Amazon Fire Tablet. However, knowing him, he'll probably access the icon and try to change all the settings. Is there a way to do this without trying to root the tablet?
