on the other thread here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1172981 it is discussed what works in Europe - I am in Czech republic where we have 900/1800, which is different from negri specs, where they say 850/1900 - is it going to work?
I am not an expert on this. I have the XT860 Bell version

why did you go for 862 instead of 860? Supposedly 860 should be better...

1) XT862 is cheaper and has better 'support'
2) XT860 bell has only recently been available at negrielectronics, the OEM version is still not available.

what exactly do you mean by "better support"? rooting etc. should work on all of them, as discussed elsewhere...or is it not so?

it has been said elsewhere that bell does have OEM feel, there is only couple of apps added

Well... ROMs? I don't know whether droid 3 ROMs will work on the XT860. (Does steeldroid work on XT860?)
Yes Bell's version is close to OEM, however it's more expensive. Also, you will probably receive motorola updates faster on the OEM version.
yeap, the reasons are the ones mentioned by DoubleYouPee.
but until a CUSTOM ROM appears, the Verizon programs are there to annoy me ))
and some minor advertising appears when opening email for the first time...nothing very disturbing.
well...strange is that if you select GLOBAL mode in the phone, the phone does not find network (or mine did not find, for the first couple of minutes), but if you select GSM/UMTS, the phones works perfect.
Hello
Im from Poland so we are practically neighbors ;D
I bought my D3 from this seller
http://www.ebay.com/itm/130563324545?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649

Good contact, fast delivery, Droid3 i got unlocked, in box with phone i found
notice with unlocking codes aslo.
So I did not have to spend extra money on phone unlocking codes or purchase
To phone price you must add ~48usd for delivery and ~tax (here in Poland tax was 75 eur)
best regards
Thanks guys for all the info.
Please, correctme, if I am wrong with this:
XT860 could be rooted via psouza tools
then I can freeze motoblur apps (unless somebody changs the script to work for bell I will have to do it one by one manually)
then I am fine

That is correct if you mean Bell apps. I have not done extensive freezing so far, so I am not sure yet what exactly you can freeze and what not.
We are stuck with Motoblur unless the bootloader gets unlocked one way or another.
EDIT:
Sorry, I misunderstood that.

Do you have the Camera blue-tint bug? On my Droid 3 this bug was fixed, but on the XT860?
Thanks for a quick reply.

from other posts I understood that fixing this is just a matter of some settings in text configuration files, so this should be possible to fix on XT860 as well - or am I wrong?
I don't know, maybe someone can answer this.
Ok, I am not sure but I own a Droid 3 and use it in Germany. The signal quality is definitely not as good as it has been on my Milestone 2.
Do both XT860 and Droid 3 use exactly the same Hardware GSM Module? I believe I saw somewhere that the XT860 has 14.4 mbits and Droid 3 "only" 10.2 mbits.
What do you think?
Greetings everyone!
I need some help. I purchased Sony Xperia Z1 while traveling in China. The model number is L39h, which I believe to be exactly the same as C6902. Is there a way to 'turn' it into the international version? Just changing the language doesn't remove all the Chinese bloatware apps and such. Will changing my firmware work?
Thank you in advance,
Best regards!

Hmm... You should be able to flash it without any problems... They're technically the same from what wikipedia also says... Its just one has chinese specific bloat... Don't take my word for it though..Do a bit more research but I think you should have no issues flashing this...

So,from what i understand there are models in the East that have 6gb of ram and then the rest of us have 4gb variants. Now what im curious about is this, are they exactly the same internally excepting for the ram difference or are there other differences? If they are exactly the same,is there not a way to add the extra 2gb of ram to a 4gb ram device?

@marcogiannetta,could you please explain why not? If the only difference between the two variants is only the extra ram. Why is it not possible to change it?

Because the RAM is solded on the motherboard, is not a modular component like on a PC.

Thank you,but could one not replace said soldering with the 6gb and solder that onto the board? Sorry, but im just trying to figure out if it isnt possible at all. I know one could replace the whole motherboard, but to do that, you could just as well have bought a phone with the 6gb ram already in it.

Isnt the whole point of XDA to ask questions and share developement etc of Android devices @Pandemic? I would much rather gather my info here where there are clever people like the Devs to explain things to you, instead of using Google. I did see the pm and have replied, thanks.

Dont see any dual frequency in my findings.

You cannot root the snapdragon variant phones. Sorry, I take that back. You can root them but it breaks Knox, Samsung Pay, and a bunch of other stuff. It trips some sort of fuse.

Isn't that the same as exynos? None of that works and knox is tripped when rooted in exynos too.

Buy the Razer Phone 2. Right now it's cheaper than any of its competition and it has root. The Galaxy S10 is a pretty good phone now that I've had an opportunity to use it for games that won't run on rooted and unlocked devices (like Fate/GO)
Someone already got TWRP to boot on Exynos S10, this phone is too popular to not get root(Exynos bootloader unlocked models). It is a matter of time, I'd say within next few weeks one of the smart devs here will have root and within a month or two Magisk support as well.

The dev behind Magisk got an S10 already so I'd guess it shouldn't be long for Magisk to support the phones. And if TWRP is already sort of available I'd imagine we'll have root im worse case scenario at the end of April.
Hello, so I have a Galaxy Watch3 45mm LTE SM-R845F and I want to change the region from XXV to a CSC code that has Samsung Pay to use Samsung Pay but I don't know where to start. I have looked around in the forum to find some guides but they are mostly outdated in 2020 so I'm asking in 2022 if is it possible to change the region of the watch so that Samsung Pay shows up and I can actually use it. Many thanks!
Fun fact: Samsung Pay does work on Samsung phones sold here in Vietnam but for some whatever reason the watch doesn't have the Samsung Pay app
