Doubt on I8190L

Hello guys
I used the mini tools to root my phone.
Installed BLN kernel without any problem.
My phone is on I8190LUBAMA1 and CSC I8190LZTOAMA1
i was looking at samsung-updates.com and saw some other firmwares newer than my stock.
Is it safe to download and install the firmware I8190LUBAMG2 ? Is marked as an Mexican firmware(I live in Brazil).
Installing this new firmware, do i lose cmw, root?
Thanks
Sergio

Hi Sergio, it is safe to install the mentioned firmware, however, consider that you are going to lose CWM and root. Furthermore, as the firmware is Mexican, it contains local apps. So, if you are planning to move to this new firmware I suggest you to after do it install the cwm again through Odin and then a Custom Rom in order to get rooted again and remove those local apps. Regards
Reyesteban,
So if i install this firmware, it will update kernel and baseband, right?
Later, when i install a custom rom the kernel and baseband will be keeped from the mexican firmware?
The installation for the Mexican Firmware should be done via Odin? or i could use CMW?

The Firmware, as it is an official one, replaces kernel, baseband and even the boot screen and you just can install it through Odin. And you are right, when installing the custom rom, kernel and baseband will keep the same. However, boot, rom apps and look&feel are going to change...

restoring backed up stock roms modem to a custom rom

I would just like to know what would happen if i tried restoring a backed up version of the stock modem that come with my phone through TWRP. would it be safe or would i have a bricked phone by the end of it?
hi,
though I'm not experienced with that, it appears to be safe to restore a modem at the Redmi Note 4X.
Unsure about Redmi 4X but I'm interested too.
edit: there's already a discussion about flashing modems at XDA unter FIRMWARES:

What is unsafe is having a Marshmallow firmware for a Nougat ROM and up, if you plan to use Nougat or newer I'd recommend flashing 37_PA, the newest firmware from Global Dev MIUI, firmwares should be always universal unless it's noted, some MIUI update also comes with a firmware, if you see some Nougat ROM they'll ask you to update to a newer firmware if you were on Marshmallow, which is why MIUI 8 (MM) to 9 (N) will also update your firmware
TLDR; if your backed up firmware is from Marshmallow and your ROM is Nougat or newer no it's not safe, otherwise everything is good, if you want to update firmware just flash the boot.img from TWRP
hey thatnks much imma check it out
alright ill try this out as well thank you

Firmware downgrade

I´m on xiaomi.eu 9.3.7 and I want to try a custom ROM that needs miui 9.2.14 firmware.
Is it safe to downgrade firmware or will it brick my phone?
Is the ARB mecanism inside ROM or firmware?

[FIRMWARE] [STOCK] Firmware only flashable zips for all variants of Realme XT

Why we need this ? :
It can be difficult to update firmware for custom ROM users since only the stock ROM contain it.
Is it risky to flash firmwares?
Yes. Firmware partitions are critical partitions and flashing it wrong or modifying this zip can lead to bricks that will only be solved by service centres.
Code:
Thus, a mandatory warning that i wont be responsible for any damages caused by the firmwares to your device and you will flash so on your own risks.
Which devices does it support ?
ONLY Realme XT (All variants) - Although i make the firmware with Indian updates.
When would you need to flash this?
Every time it's updated and whichever firmware the custom ROM supports. Although all custom ROMs are android 10 based now and you would be safe using any firmware only zip from C01 to C<whatever>.
Do i need to flash vbmeta?
No, the flashable zip already has it and it flashes disabled vbmeta on its own.
Does it contain kernel
Maybe. The older ones until the C05 update has stock kernel. I will be removing boot.img and dtbo.img from the zip from C06 onwards since accidentally booting with stock kernel can break encryption and destroy internal data since our custom kernel is way ahead of stock.
How do i make this zip myself?
If you aren't sure what you are doing, please avoid trying to make flashable zips for realme devices. Because, realme encrypts the firmwares and if you don't decrypt the firmware before flashing, it can cause a hard brick.
In brief, you simply decrypt the stock_update.ozip with bkerler's oppo_decrypt tool and replace the updater binary with pie ones. The reason why we replace the updater binary with pie ones is because the stock android 10 binary has decryptor built in whereas the pie ones does not. About what images to include, the zip itself is self explanatory.

The current firmware is tested and reported working on EU devices. But flash it at your own risk.
I just did the update to crDroid 6.9 with the latest frimware (C06) on my EU device and can confirm it works.
Thanks a lot!
C08 update is here :

I flashed the F06 firmware and discovered that it overwrote the TWRP recovery I had earlier and I can't flash the latest one over it, simply doesn't boot. So I'm now stuck with the TWRP recovery that's bundled with F06 firmware. The device model name has been changed to nicky, instead of rmx1921 like before. Which maybe the reason official TWRP images don't work anymore.
