As the title suggests I have the Moto G 2014 XT1064 running system version 21.11.23.titan_retuaws.retuaws.en.US retus Build number KXB21 .85-23
I'm inquiring about not seeing an OTA on my phone or anywhere on the site. Have you guys any news on this matter?
i am having the same problem ... have you solved it yet ? aparently we have the oddballs lol
Same here just got mine from bestbuy and no ota yet.. Makes me sad but loving the phone so far!
Sent from my XT1064 using XDA Free mobile app
Its because the 5.0.1 and 5.0 updates were for an earlier version of kitkat. No way to manually update or no ota yet. Must wait it out because there is not a great was to downgrade firmware

The version is Consumer Cellular Version 21.11.23.titan_retuavs.retuavs.en.US reus Build: KXB21.85-23, which is a upgraded version that from what i have read in these threads is NOT getting Lollipop ?. I use the first link to flash but downloaded loaded Blur_Version.21.11.17.titan_retuaws.retuaws.en.US or Retail version someone uploaded because Moto link has not worked since 12/12/14, from the second link .

2. http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g-2014/general/restore-to-stock-t2873657
I read through both threads before trying ,work fine for me YMMV
Hope this helps
If it does hit Thanks Button
Where do you guys get your stock firmware from? Reverting to Stock in ios was a non-issue as Apple is always happy to get you back in its walled garden. With Android it seems a little harder and I can't seem to find official (signed) Motorola stock firmware. Furthermore, updating using the Motorola OTA service won't work until I reflash stock recovery. Can someone please point me in the right direction?
Thanks

no motorola does not publish these files except a few DEV files for Moto X
these are all leaked , but i have downloaded several and made Easy Installer(s) for them
see my signature - if your boot loader is unlocked you can flash these (i.e downgrade) upgrades can be done locked - I only have .14 DE available ( now making a .23) but its a 2hr download
heres your full firmware - sorry its a SLOW download - not under my control

Thanks. Yeah I couldn't find any official files or even a md5 /sh1 signature. That would be enough to authenticate the validity of the images. Motorola's website has a few images for Droid and X models as you mentioned but none for the G.
Back in my ios days I felt comfortable installing firmware originating from a few select groups of developers who were well known in the community and there seemed to be a good system in place for peer reviewing their code. Is there such a thing in the Android Community? I mean there's TeamWin, Cyanogen and the likes for mods, but for Stock people just install random files without knowing what's on it?

Hi guys,
Is there an option to flash Android One (Project Fi) to regular Moto x4?
Reef2009
Not now, but I really want it. Is very dificult to get a Moto X4 version Android One outside of USA... :crying:
No, but a guy in the custom roms thread was able to flash the retail Moto x4 ROM onto his Fi phone (as a last resort to recover his bricked device).
I really want this feature in moto... As I don't know the regular moto will get updates like Android one or not, as I know obviously the Android one get updates faster but the regular version will get same updates even if its late or if the Android one version will updated we can update the regular moto with root and custom recovery. Thanks in advance for your answers.

I don't think you'll ever be able to apply Android One Updates to a Retail model phone (even with root and/or custom recoveries). They are just too different in some basic /system features. In fact, right now; just rooting the phone screws up your ability to apply the updates for the Android One version TO the A1 phone. Even if you UNroot.
I just hope either the developers fix that or Motorola releases a true "factory image" that we can restore that will let us truly go "back to stock" (and begin receiving updates again). If Moto does that, you should be able to apply THAT to you Retail version (turning it into an A1 phone). That's your best hope.

I am not understanding why one would buy a regular X4 if they wanted the Android One version.
Why not just buy the preferred version, initially?

The retailer one comes out full of annoying bloatwares. Actually I don't care about Fi Project, I just want have the cleanest UI possibile with only the strictly necessary. Oh, there are the security patches and os updates aspects too.

This reminds me of older non-nexus phones- we would have to grab the OTA and use tools to construct the stock rom in a form that was flashable/modifiable. In the pre-lollipop? times, the patches were file based, so it was much easier to modify just specific files. The OTAs are now block based, so they just modify the atomic blocks that need changing, so you need an exact copy of the file system in order to apply the OTA.
Hey guys, since Motorola announcement that they won't update moto g5s plus to Android Pie ive start to looking for the update folder to g5s plus. And I have a question, perhaps Motorola change the device list and I keep wondering, if they do update moto g5s plus can I go back to stock version? Because I just want this file TU receive earlier the update because everyone says that g5s plus is amazing with Android 8.1. Those are my device info's:

From my understanding, you just need firmware files which are meant to your device variant/region, and you can go back to stock.
And i don't think Motorola will ever change their mind and update it to P.
You will have custom Pie ROM if you want. Otherwise Oreo is last.
[For More, Your question is not clear, can you explain it so we can help you correctly.]
We dont even even officially have oreo , your looking beyond that? Lol

A few dies I've saw a thread here on xda that if you download a folder, paste at the root location of the phone and search for updates the update to android 8 will show up. What !!!!!!!!!
I have never seen such folder which can trick your phone for OTA !!
There are 3 ways to get OREO,
1) unlock bootloader and install custom ROM.
2) we have soak test zip, install it. (If you install soak zip, you will need to go back to official firmware to take future releases..)
3) register for updates which are soak tests, mfn on Motorola site.
I think he is talking abt
1) dwnld the stock 8.1 rom
2) push to mobile storage in specific folder using adb
3) check on mobile-system update-and it wil show u update
4) restart.
Something like this i think.

I looked for the s9+ also but like ya said its not there yet my guess its not on the s9 server yet or could be a different build number but I wouldn't figure
I would look up your build and android 9 is a 2GB size firmware look for the newest by month and date under the firmware you are on now

If u want to get pie, u have to get the ARI6 Odin files which are about 4GB. This is an Oreo file with September Patch. The subsequent update files on SamsungFirmwareScience is all you would need going forward after that to upgrade to Pie and other Patches if u choose to stay on Oreo. You just need to take a leap of faith and downgrade to ARI6 using the Patched Odin by Thomas or so 3.13.3

All Samsung firmware are not carrier specific. Now how your phone works with the firmware is totally unknown to me. Sprint is weird since it's a cdma network. If u were on a GSM network i would have said it's as easy as pie. But to answer your question yes, it's simple as pie to just download Odin and ari6, put your phone in download mode, load the files to Odin (if u want to retain your sprint software use HOME_CSC rather than CSC) then run the update files from there using adb sideload from the recovery menu
