Hello!
I had the same problem...
I bogth Note 9 from ebay USA... from some guy...
and when I wanted to update Android to 9.0 version... I got MDM mode problem...
solution I found here!!!
All what you need to do is:
activate ADB (anyhow) I will attach application...
and type:
adb shell
pm disable-user --user 0 com.sec.knox.kccagent
pm disable-user --user 0 com.planetcellinc.ressvc
pm disable-user --user 0 com.absolute.android.agent
pm disable-user --user 0 com.sec.enterprise.knox.cloudmdm.smdms
reboot bootloader
and than You can flash any firmware you want with Odin.
if you wish to change region (CSC) - you need to disable these knox apps after every reinstall of ROM. (My was for TTT region... and I shifted to MXO).

Hello everyone, please need help, customer took this device locked mdm, I went to pass a firmware now it just reboots, but goes into download mode, does not accept any firmware, if anyone has this solution may be costly please help me
FRP OFF
OEM ON
KG STATUS LOCKED
BINARY 3

I would be more concerned about how MDM Mode is enabled in the first place. IIRC MDM Mode is used for either Samsung Retail Mode or Enterprise Enrollment. Considering you bought this phone second-hand its possible this device was stolen. However its also possible this was just a mistake by the previous owner. I would advise contacting the seller for a refund or replacement.

I found the guy off the eBay who charged $20 to do it remote within 15 min, and I was up and running since above method won't let you take RAC junk complete off the phone, you will still not have USB debugging enabled.

got it sorted

Really weird situation with SM-N960F

Hi
I just bought a 2nd handed phone from my friend and all of the samsung apps said my phone has been rooted.
I'm quite sure my phone is not rooted and Knox still stay at 0x0
I have gone to samsung warranty service and know that this phone has broken the contract with some kind of 3rd party certified reseller, for that reason it will cause my phone to void the warranty and the phone will keep in rooted state.
Is anyone have any idea about this?
Thanks

Are you using an app to check if Knox is 0x0 ? Apps are telling me Knox is not tripped, when it is! Best way to check is go into download mode, check via there!

I did try soft restore in phone setting except recovery one but no luck, maybe recovery mode and wipe everything should do the trick I think.
I heard they have mentioned something like F.nox (Similar to locked carrier phone contract) that caused all of this.
More confusing, this phone somehow broke out the contract with "F.nox" and work like global except Knox involved Samsung apps.

oh if it was a rental?
maybe but again try a reset in recovery if you can't then yeah maybe its the mdm that the rental company activated that is causing this
edit:
maybe it jsut needs a good old fashion reflash of stock firmware via odin

sounds like modem issue.
but regardless, ive not herd of such issues lately.
anyways ill let you decide.
a good way to get non corrupt firmware is to use samfirm tool 0.3.6 just enter phone model: SM-N960F
and your region code.
when using odin 3.13.1
fill all slots but for csc use regular csc.md5 not the one with home.

Thanks, I'll try it out later, currently, I'm trying to test if the recovery mode work or not. I hope it work.
Possible that the device had a bad IMEI/ESN and was a new CERT file was created to allow network access.

SM-T817V Firmware nowhere to be found?

I work with a private computer repair company and we often refurbish devices, like older computers and monitors. I'm attempting to refurbish an older Samsung Galaxy S2 tablet with Verizon a customer brought in, but FRP is preventing our factory reset. We've attempted calling and emailing the customer for that login information but they aren't responding, so we need to reflash the firmware. Is there anywhere we can get SM-T817V firmware? Also, if we can't find that specific firmware, i there any other version of firmware we can put on it that won't cause too many issues? We don't absolutely need LTE on the tablet, but keeping it would be a huge plus.

It depends on the reason frp has kicked in. Does download mode state any of the partitions are custom or is the device status official?

FRP kicked in I can only assume because the original owner didn't properly reset the device. The current owner came in and stated it was like that when he bought it. When opening in download mode, it does state the device status as official.

I've tried different sites like Sammobile, Updato, and AndroidMTK. Only Updato has the file, but it's blocked behind a user account wall which isn't sending me an email. The other two don't have it at all. I'm skeptical that anywhere has it.

You either need the combo firmware or an eng boot. Neither of which seem to be available without payment.
The other option is to try one of the FRP bypass tricks.

The video you recommended is in Spanish, which isn't necessarily a problem. The problem is the tool he says to use doesn't work anymore (the download link is broken, taken down by MediaFire's TOS). If you've got any other suggestions, I'd be glad to consider them.

Like I say I can't recommend one, just got to try them. However the methods are pretty generic and I have used the method below successfully on a completely different device:
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=a-A-poRZPzY
That one doesn't work either. I'm currently running the device on Android 7.0 and I've found a way to get into Settings. All I need to do is find a way to get into developer options and I'm golden. But, I can't do that. If anyone can help find a way to do that, it'd be wonderful.

I managed to replace Sprint boot logo with normal LG logo (completely by accident)

I finally received my LG G8 and wanted to tinker with it a bit. When I first powered it on, it had Sprint boot logo. But after some tinkering, it now has the normal LG "Life's Good" boot logo.
Here's how I did it:
First of all I installed Android 10 on my LG G8 LM-G820UM thanks to this method https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g8/how-to/sprint-ota-android-10-update-t4016815
BUT, SafetyNet test failed because of CTS profile mismatch. That means no OTA updates. So I went back to Pie. (method for downgrade is on the LG V50 G8 G8S G8X telegram, not sure if I'm allowed to post it here)
Next, I entered recovery mode to factory reset because for some reason the upgrade to Android 10 and downgrade to Pie messed with my start-up PIN and I couldn't get past the "secure startup " screen. So I factory reset and rebooted my LG G8 and I noticed Sprint boot logo was no longer there, instead there is the normal LG boot logo. Not sure how exactly this happened but I thought I'd share. However Sprint bloatware is still present. But it's really easy to get rid of this garbage with adb commands (thanks to @rldev for the guide):

pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.sprint.ms.smf.services
pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.lge.sprintserver
pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.lge.lgdmsclientspr
NOTE: The last line will remove the Sprint Activation at boot. There are 3 of these that come up when you search in the app.
I don't know how to get rid of the Sprint bootup. The last one I purchased had it removed, so it is possible. Someone let me know.

Yes but this is not consistent people have got varied results. I definitely don't recommend anyone to try this just to get rid of the Sprint logo. Seems people have been having trouble using the Sprint downgrade guide I made somewhere here so join the telegram group if anyone really wants to get back to pie on a Sprint phone

I think the key to doing this is simply to factory reset from Recovery Mode instead of within Android. The same thing happened to me on a LG V50 ThinQ 5G. Problem is, I want to get the logo back because I need to return the phone. Looks like I'm hosed because of this oversight by LG/Sprint engineers.

Need help flashing LG G8 to stock firmware

I have an LG G8 phone: Phone name: G8 Thin Q, Model number: LM-G820V - Verizon network. The phone originally arrived in retail mode running the LG demo over and over, was able to take it out by retail mode using passcode: 103729 to get into retail mode and passcode: L310MC570G to enable Developer Options - USB Debugging.. From there, Using the Android SDK tools, entered command prompt with admin and used the following to remove retail mode completely.
c:\android-sdk\platform-tools
adb devices
adb shell
ls
pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.lge.retailmode
The phone has 128 GB of disk space, but only 8 Gb is available in its current state. I need to find the right firmware to re-flash it back to stock using the LG UP tools. Tried different firmware's (.kdz) and they all fail at the start of running LG UP. The phone has no IMEI/cant be used as a mobile device. The plan is to use it as a media device. The phone can connect to WiFi and Play Store but with the limited disk space, not much can be done with it.
Can someone please help me find the right firmware that will flash it back to stock and not brick it.
Thanks.
How did you get it? Did someone sell you a demo one?

Question Vivo service error

Anyone know how to fix this. I've already tried the clean date and cache in Vivo service option but it just pops up again as soon as I clear the date
If you went with razor's change from china to global, then the final step to run an adb script gets rid of that. It should be in the guide.
I have the same problem. i bought a used x60 pro plus. the previous owner has changed from origins os to funtouch. can that still be corrected? the rest works perfectly
