Android Studio ERROR: Unsupported method: - Android Studio

So Im creating my first ever app and I cant code so I used buildbox. Im trying to make my game into an apk but when i put it into Android Studio it says:
ERROR: Unsupported method: AndroidProject.getVariantNames().
The version of Gradle you connect to does not support that method.
To resolve the problem you can change/upgrade the target version of Gradle you connect to.
Alternatively, you can ignore this exception and read other information from the model.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

ADB Help

Before anyone drops a "use the search function first", I hope you provide a link because I have scoured over 200 posts trying to find the answer to this question and its either not there, or EXTREMELY well hidden.
So...ADB worked fine for me on Windows 7 x64, untill I had to uninstall and reinstall some drivers when helping a buddy root his g1.
Now, ADB doesn't work. Whenever I try to run an adb command, even just to list devices, I get this error:
Code:
* daemon not running. starting it now *
CreateProcess failure, error 2
* failed to start daemon *
error: cannot connect to daemon
I have scoured Google, and I haven't found a single post that is android related (there are similair errors on android forums, just not this one) and am sorrily stumped. If anyone can help, I'd be ever so grateful.
This definitely sounds driver related although I'm not sure how you can "roll back" drivers in 7. I've heard that 7 pretty much keeps every driver you've ever used around and for whatever reason it's using an older ADB driver. I'd put money on me being wrong though.
if you are using a 1.5 image, use the drivers from the 1.5 SDK. If you are still on the RC builds, use the drivers in the 1.0 SDK.
win32 error code 2 means: 2 The system cannot find the file specified. ERROR_FILE_NOT_FOUND
and from the source code this is after a call to CreateProcess() and the file name is given by GetModuleFileName(), so it seems that the latter failed in a strange way.
What's the full path to your adb.exe?

D:\G1\android\tools\adb.exe
No spaces or odd characters. Like I said this worked fine for a month or so before I started ****ing with the drivers. I havent moved anything, my PATH and CLASSPATH are pointed correctly to the right directory. I also have a copy of adb in my /system32 directory (along with we .dll file it needs) so I can run it from wherever at a cmd prompt.
it might have something to do with wow64 messing the path up (it may rewrite system32 to syswow64). try launching the program under D:\G1\android\tools\ path. even if GetModuleFileName() failed, system should still be able to find adb.exe if you're under that path. also check file permissions and antivirus...
you can also try the command "adb fork-server server" in the path that contains adb. (you'll have to leave that console open)

[Q] nOOb: export apk from Eclipse IDE?

So, I've been doing some Android development tutorials, as I have almost no experience in any sort of coding. I'm working in Ubuntu 11.10 with android-sdk-linux, Eclipse IDE, & java version 1.6
Things are going ok, but...
I tried to export a signed apk of my application project from Eclipse yesterday, and when I try to install it on my D3 I get this error:
HTML:
Error Parsing Package
What am I doing wrong?
thanks in advance...

Sorry bro, I have no idea. You might get more help Android Development and Hacking or more specifically Android Software Development which is a subforum of the first link. Sorry I personally can't help you out more than that, wish I could.
If your device is recognized as a development device, you should be able to just hit the 'Run' button and it should compile your app, install it to the device and automatically launch it. Your device needs to have USB debugging turned on and you need to have the ADB driver installed (need to get it from Motorola if this is a Moto device, it won't install automatically like the rest of the storage drivers).
My Droid3 shows up as ???????? in adb. I was exporting a signed apk to install because I can't get the device to recognize. Am I missing a configuration of some kind? I'm guessing there's some kind of vendor code or something that I need for ADB to work properly with my phone?
tnx
EDIT: think I figured it out. it's the udev rules, looks like i'm on the right track....
EDIT 2: Got it! Thanks for the heads up.

[Q] Setting up a test environment

Can anyone advise this rookie user how to set up a test environment to use with an Android Studio project?
I recently installed Android Studio on my Windows 7 laptop and put together my first simple app. When I tried to debug it, I was offered two pre-configured test environments. The first was "Nexus 5 API 21x86" but when I tried to use that one it told me I needed HAXM. After much research I worked out what I needed to do to install HAXM but the installation file gave me the following error message:
VT_Not_Support = This computer does not support Intel Virtualization Technology (VT-x). HAXM cannot be installed."
I therefore turned my attention to the second option "TestDevice". When I tried to run that, Android Studio reported:
emulator: ERROR: This AVD's configuration is missing a kernel file!!
emulator: ERROR: ANDROID_SDK_ROOT is undefined
I Googled the error and found the advice that I needed to install "ARM EABI v7a System Image" but when I ran the SDK manager it told me that this component was already installed.
Can anyone please tell me either how to overcome the ANDROID_SDK_ROOT undefined problem or advise how otherwise to set up an emulated test environment that works on my computer.
I am an experienced programmer but a complete novice when it comes to Android Studio, all the associated applications and Android devices in general.
Many thanks in advance for your patience.

Keith, have you tried enabling VT-x in your BIOS settings?
Thanks for the suggestion. I wasn't aware of this BIOS setting. I will give it a try but may not have a chance to try it out until the weekend
This should do the trick if you have compatible CPU.

[Q] Android Studio error on first startup

I recently downloaded/installed android studio since I am taking an online class on the topic. I had an error (screenshot attached) the first time I tried to use the program. Reinstalling Android Studio and restarting my computer did not help. Any suggestions?

Go to: Tools > Android > SDK Manager, and make sure you have the latest version of the SDK installed.
If you're up to date then it is most likely an error with your gradle build files. If you can't get it working open your module:app build.gradle file, and check what your 'compileSDKVersion' and 'buildToolsVersion' are.
Try changing your 'compileSDKVersion' to 21, and your 'buildToolsVersion' to 21.1.2. I think these are the most recent stable releases.
