[Q] Reception & Voice Quality: Moto X 2014 vs Moto X 2013 vs Other Popular Phones?
I currently have a Samsung Galaxy S3 and use it all the time for business purposes. Thus, reception and voice quality are imperative needs for me. The RX/TX radio signal reception and voice clarity/quality (handset mic, speakerphone and audio earpiece) are all mediocre at best. It probably doesn't help that I am on a custom non-Touchwiz ROM (Carbon ROM), but things weren't so rosy on the stock Touchwiz ROM either.
That said, I am considering either the Moto X 2013 (the $200 price point used on Swappa) is very attractive, especially once Moto Actions is upgraded to match the 2014 counterpart.
The larger Moto X 2014 is also alluring but $500 is a hard bullet to swallow. The big advantage is that the redesigned metal edge allows for best-in-class reception.
How much better is the reception and call quality of the Moto X 2014 vs Moto X 2013 vs other popular phones?
I have a 2013 and a 2014 and both have good voice quality in my opinon compared to the Nexus 5 and LG G2 Ive had.
I also have a pair of 2013 X's for sale, one is a GSM Developer edition, the other is a GSM 16GB with whitefront/blue back. If interested in pics of either just send me a Private Message.
Just done a quick live chat with Motorola support regarding Lollipop on the Moto X 2013 and he advised that the soak test is already under way. Does anyone have this update yet? I'm too impatient to wait for the OTA so wondering if anyone has the ROM uploaded anywhere bugs and all?
Not sure how to show screenshot on here but have attached a picture of the chat
The chat guys don't know that much... I would take anything they say with a grain of salt.
@richwright1, I wouldn't consider that "confirmed"
There is no mention of 2013 vs 2014 until you bring it up halfway through the chat, and the Moto rep never mentions 2013 vs 2014, or Gen 1 vs Gen 2.
I also chatted with support here in india.
he said that the soak tests are going on for moto g gen 1 devices in india and he had no info on moto x
I was on the 'MOTO X 2013' support chat and not the 2014 so the live chat was regarding the specific device already if that helps

What does that have to do with the 2013 model? Wrong forum.

Did you take your time to complete the satisfication survey for that conversation?

HELP !!!
GUYS GUYS HELP ME.
I'll keep it short. Moto X XT 1052 . Screen broken. LCD working. Getting just the SCREEN somewhere but for Moto X XT 1060.
Will there be any difference in the size, shape or compatibility between XT 1052 and XT 1060.
The catch is seller is selling XT 1056, 1058, 1060 outer glass at Different Prices. So, if screen size is same then why different prices ??
PLS HELP !!

You might have more success in a new thread, or another thread about the LCD glass, not the soak test.
To my knowledge, all the phones are physically the same size/shape/etc. The screen should fit regardless of what model it says it is for. Anyone else can feel free to correct me if I'm wrong in that thought.
Yaa buddy sorry for posting here. Wanted a quick opinion.
Even i feel that the variants shouldn't vary in the pricing, though i also have no idea why is the seller selling different variant screens at different prices.
I think that they are unaware of the variant number and have used it randomly. I think ill buy that outer glass and wish me luck that i could get it replaces successfully cuz its damn difficult and risky to do that ..
Does the moto g7 supports Treble?
I can't tell you if Moto G7 Plus has Treble, but according to all Treble checkers I found at the Play Store my Moto G7 Power does have it.
I didn't know there were Treble checking apps, got this one and it says that my G7 Plus can be Treble-ized, here's a screenshot.
Treble is compulsory for phones with Android 8.0 Oreo or higher out of the box
I recall in the past the Moto G4 plus roms/recoveries were just fine to use on the Moto G4. I believe both were codenamed athene.
Does this still hold true for Moto G7 plus (lake) and Moto G7 (river)?
Thanks!
What does a Moto G6 64GB Verizon = XT**** Just wondering how to find the correct screen replacement. Can't afford to get the wrong one. Please advise. Thanks!!
