Android Auto Lock screen - Android Auto General

Android Auto is great I use it every day.
One thing I hate.... When listening to the radio you have to enter the android auto environment to enter the phone.
Does someone knows if it can be bypassed?? Some root solution?
I am not talking about swipe to unlock....
It's an OEM Volkswagen system.

App to power off screen without locking?

Hey guys, curious if anyone has found an app that can turn the screen off on the Droid Turbo without locking it. Here's what I ideally want:
I use a Motorola Keylink and a Pebble as Trusted Devices. When they are connected, I don't have to enter my unlock PIN.
I'd also like to be able to use 'Double Tap' in Nova launcher to turn off the screen. The problem is that every app I try turns off the screen and locks it, meaning I have to enter my PIN when I turn the screen on again, EVEN IF I have a trusted device connected.
So, is there anything that can turn off the screen without locking it as well?
I am rooted and have Tasker and Secure settings but can't find a solution in those apps.
Thanks!
EDIT: Found my answer! Secure settings, run command, "Input keyevent 6" for anyone who needs it

Using phone and android auto at the same time?

I've noticed that when Android Auto is enabled unlocking the phone leads to a black android auto screen and the home button is disabled. I've also found that engaging a notification can bypass this android screen and allow android auto and the app on the phone to be used at the same time. I'm wondering if there is a way to allow the phone to be used without the workaround so my passenger can use the phone while android auto is enabled.

Nope. They do that as a safety feature assuming that the driver is picking up the phone. Only other way around it is to unplug the phone from Android Auto, have your passenger use it, and then plug it back in again.

That's what I do now, anyway to override the settings so when I press home it goes to home?
I just switched to an S8 after breaking my S7. With the s7 i was always able to hit the hard recent button on the left to switch to using the phone while android auto was running. The S8 has soft keys and while i am not sure that has anything to do with it i have been unable to use the phone while android auto is running. No matter what buttons I try I end up at the black android auto screen. Anyone find a way around this? I ave noticed that the poweramp lockscreen makes it possible but i am not always using poweramp, and it need to be running before i have android auto running.

Smart lock not working...?

Does none of the smart lock tools actually work with this phone? The trusted places option worked perfectly on my OPO, but with this phone, I'm always asked to input my pattern or fingerprint when I'm at home. It's not an issue if I'm just turning on the phone because the fingerprint is super fast, but sometimes I like to open a notification right from the lock screen, but I can't do that if the smart lock isn't working...
I am running OOS 4.0.3 and I an confirm that Smart Lock is working.
I have set a trusted device via Bluetooth, in this particular case my Bluetooth module in my car.
Here's what happens and hopefully this is what you expect.
When I am outside of my house and walking to my car, my phone is locked and requires my fingerprint.
I turn on my car and my phone pairs with my car, which then enables the Smart Lock feature.
I then turn on my screen on my phone and I see a Lock Screen but it is slightly different. The lock symbol located at the bottom has a circle around it indicating that the phone only requires a swipe to go to my home screen. It does not require my fingerprint or pin/pattern.
No matter what you do the Lock Screen is present when Smart Lock is functioning. So far I am ok with this.
If you are looking to never see the Lock Screen when Smart Lock is functioning then I am not sure if you can do that.
There could be a way using Tasker for example IF Bluetooth is Connected to Car, set Screen Lock timeout to never and that might prevent the Lock Screen from appearing.
WE would have to test this and I am not sure if Tasker can change the Lock Screen timeout.
I hope this helps.

It seems the trusted location is very spotty for me at the moment. Sometimes it works and others it doesn't.
I've got a similar problem. The phone never unlocks when I'm at a trusted location. It unlocks when I'm connected to a trusted Bluetooth though. I've set the location using both my address and by using the Google Maps screen. Nothing works.
I'm using a OnePlus 3T with the regular operating system.
Same here. Trusted location only seems to work for a few hours after adding/resetting a location. After that, it is no longer recognized. I did see an issue brought up in the Pixel forums about this issue, but clearly it's not confined to that device. Here's a few threads about it:

http://forums.androidcentral.com/go...art-lock-trusted-places-doesnt-seem-work.html
Hopefully they are still looking into the issue and will release a fix as part of Android O whenever that comes to the 3/3T. Or maybe it's something that OP could look into, but I doubt we'll get that fixed in a timely manner either way...
I have the opposite problem. Phone will always unlock without prompting for fingerprint or code, regardless of being in a trusted location or not. It's pretty annoying.

Screen lock doesn't work.
Hi! My problem kinda different. My OP3T screen lock doesn't work. I tried to turn off smart lock. Changing the screen lock type, still doesn't work. Even with fingerprints. So anybody can open my phone by swiping it up. Did somebody have the same problem? Should i upload the video of it and link it?

"Phone" process prevents Android Auto from showing it's own call screen

Hello,
I suffer from an extremely annoying problem with my Huawei P9 on Android 7. I am using Android Auto on the head unit of my Vauxhall (Opel) Astra and when I try to call somebody, the head unit does not show the android Auto call screen. Instead, the screen does not change at all but the phone screen goes on and shows the standard Huawei call screen. This is bad as I can only end calls with the button at the steering wheel.
I figured out that the system process "Phone" (or "Telefon" in German) exists twice. After terminating both tasks the Android Auto call screen works flawlessly.....at least for a couple of minutes until both "Phone" services got activated again automatically.
By the way, when I disconnect the phone from the car and use Android Auto on the phone, it does show the same behaviour. When I call somebdy, the Huawei call screen shows up instead of the AA integrated one. After force closing the processes, the AA call screen works again but also just for a couple of seconds.
I have already re-installed Android Auto....did not solve the problem...
The last option could be a complete reset of the phone but I would like to avoid this of course.
Does anybody have an idea what is going wrong?
Thanks a lot for your comments!
I have the same No solution for now. On Android 6 it was working...
Second annoying thing with AA on Android 7 is that you can't use task manager to switch to another app... I know, crazy safety reason. I bypass this with some floating button, of course...
Have same problem
With my Huawei Elate I am unable to end a call while using Android Auto. I do not see the end call Icon. I have updated the app but still have the problem. Any Help?

Android Auto very slow when lock screen is up (swipe up to unlock)

When the black swipe up to unlock screen comes up on my phone while I'm using Android Auto with my car, the software runs really slow and it's all around incredibly choppy - the map lags, and the UI is just unusable. However, when I swipe up to unlock and have my phone being usable, Android Auto runs crisply smooth - so there's something wrong when the lock screen comes up.
Any suggestions on what I can try? I re-installed AA multiple times already.
Edit: realized actually AA becomes very slow when the screen is completely off.

I was also facing the very same problem on my android 11 device . And I just found a very weird solution to this accidentally . You just connect your android auto to your car then unlock your phone and make a phone call from your phone while it's connected to android auto and then lock your phone as usual and cut the phone call from your android auto screen in your car and then android auto will run smoothly.... AA is a mess in android 11 I hope they fix it fast.
