As of today, I have received EMUI 9.0.0.159. My Widewine Security Level has been reverted back to L1 from L3 (9.0.0.156/7).

Great, do you know if stabilisation is now working properly in the camera again? I wonder if you can test to see if Camera2api is enabled? I know in the first stable they disabled it for my cor-l29.

Yes OP. Please check if EIS is working and for which modes. Am currently on 9.0.0.157 COR AL00
I have this device and updated to 159. I can confirm Widevine has been reverted to L1 (Yey!). But there's still no video stabilization. No EIS or AIS whatsoever in any video modes.

Did the Global version had the Widevine L1 support before pie update...I am asking because you used the term "Reverted"

It had L1 during 8.2. Downgraded to L3 after getting Pie

When it was updated to Android Pie, stabilization was gone together with other features such as Widwine L1 support.

Got the new update 9.0.0.184 build sizing 706 Mb.
Indian version of phone. Nothing has changed for me. Widevine is still L3. Camera 2 support is still limited.

At the moment you cannot unlock bootloader in Pie (9.0), the option is greyed out. You have to downgrade to Oreo before unlocking. And once you do that and unlock, you'll lose camera preview in Pie.
Some have reported that they still have camera preview working in Pie, but I do not. I did not do the DRM fix on Oreo, so that may be why. Just waiting patiently for DRMfix in Pie

I unlocked my bootloader on Pie...no problems however I did lose the camera preview, but only on photo, it's fine in video mode.
@ionSeven even when recording? My preview on video looks fine but when recording it starts getting all jittery and eventually stops.

I got some off the Gcam port website: https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/
and some crashed while the others give off strange color hues. I wouldn't mind the video not working but I crave the GCam camera. Stock cam software is just not nearly as good, unfortunately, despite it being marketed as a camera/photo-centric phone.

i tried reverting back to miui stock rom but still got widevine l3
do you guys know any workaround? perhaps a modded app to stream 1080 p i tried almost everything i can find here in xda but test patterns never got past 480p
i have a mi9t pro and am sure that its l1 certified before bootloader unlock

i tried every q vendor eu and global the l1 would not return

- You should be on any of the below miui custom roms,
1. Xiaomi.eu v20.1.16
2. MiuiMix v20.1.16
3. Mi Room v20.1.16
- This patch will support only those devices which already had L1 certification and other devices (Chinese variant) will not get L1.
- Working TWRP, Ofx version 10.0.6 recommended.

My netflix app was not working anymore after bootloader unlock and custom recovery with root.After reverting back to stock recovery and unroot i cant even find the netflix app on play store.Just downloaded from apk mirror.

Update ?: after wasting this whole couple of days searching and reading forums, it seems that all Xiaomi's updates for "Mi 9 Lite" are full of bugs and issues, so I'm going to stick with the old (Global MIUI 10.3.1) Version.
it's the first & the last time i buy a Xiaomi phone. ?
they don't give a sh** about their customers.

Thanks for your reply, but as i see a lot of people reported bugs after updating to this version. but most of it was at the end of 2019. I'm not sure if Xiaomi fixed it since then.

The last update of MIUI 11 on Android 9 (11.3.9.0 PFCEUXM) has a bug with Netflix (no video, only audio) and with WCG/HDR.
I have MI9 lite, updated to android 10 ( V11.0.1.0.QFCMIXM (MIUI11) ) and 100% working. not usin" Netflix", but "my canal" almost the same, at least drm bug too and now it's ok

Thanks for the infos, but that's not the global version. i guess it's EU version. I'm afraid to update the phone to the Global 11.3.4.0 without knowing that Xiaomi fixed the bugs in this version.

that's great! but strange because a lot of users reported many bugs and higher battery usage.
yesterday i spent the whole day reading forums and most users are not happy after upgrading to Android Q (10). so you are lucky ??

I'm using MIUI 11.0.2 (Android 10 with April Google bug fixes) on T-Mobile in the US and VoWiFi and VoLTE are both working great. There are a few bugs, but nothing preventing me from doing anything I need to do. The biggest one I have is file managers (built in and third party) crashing trying to render certain thumbnails.

Yes, I have the same version. My screen looks exactly the same. 11.0.2.0(QFCMIXM) which corrresponds to the global version.
Can someone tell me why there is no hdr support on Netflix for this device?

That's not correct. I've unlocked bootloader and I'm using arrow rom with L1 without problems. I haven't tested hdr though

but then came in the latest ota and checking back at it again, now it supports hdr.
