Project Trouble reloaded
What is Project Treble:
Project Treble basically partitions your device into two separate partitions, a system and a vendor: system contains your generic system image, while vendor partition has your device specific files required for booting and running your phone. This way we can easily change the system image and be able to run our device on different system images with the same kernel and vendor partition
Read more about Project Treble
What's a GSI?:
A GSI literally means Generic System Image. It is a general system image meant for no specific device. Treble enabled devices have the capability to run a GSI.
Install:
Download Project trouble reloaded. Link
Download a GSI. Link
Reboot to latest Official TWRP. Link
Wipe everything and format data - yes.
Flash Firmware newer then 8.4.19 and Project trouble reloaded.
Install the GSI
Reboot

That is fantastic. thank you for the reload.

I installed Google Experience GSI and the unique problem is google not recognized my device, but, I thinks it´s problem the Google Experience rom.
The mi 6 is on bootloop with Android P GSI Preview, but it's normal, it's a beta.
Greetings
Has anybody tried the Android P DP4 GSI on the Xiaomi Mi 8/ Mi 8 SE?
Couldn't get the treble P GSI to boot on my Mi 8 SE but I managed to get the Oreo GSI running (doesn't have notch support though).

Which GSI booted on your SE?
Other Mi8 SE users reported that every GSI they flashes resulted in a bootloop.
Can you also mention the last MIUI version you had when you flashed a GSI?
As for P, you tried the semi-GSI, right?
Some people said that they had to fix things themselves for the image to boot but did you try flashing Magisk or setting Selinux to permissive? There should be a "permissiver" zip on the P gsi thread if I'm not mistaken.
dm-verity and selinux could cause a bootloop.

Got my Mi8 SE running MIUI 9 Chinese.
Unlocked the bootloader and flashed the latest Xiaomi.EU MIUI 10 ROM as a base and then tried both: GSI for phh-Treble AOSP and Resurrection Remix phh-Treble. Both worked surprisingly well, the notch being detected was the main issue. I followed this guide on xda.
Yes it was the P semi-GSI that resulted in a bootloop. Might try the permissiver zip.

Been wanting to get the 8 se, but I've been waiting to hear if phh-treble and other GSIs work before buying. other than notch problems are there any other major issues? Once P is released and phh-treble is updated to android 9 the notch won't be a problem anymore due to AOSP notch support.
Running lineage GSI on SE too without issues (except some full screen apps which do not support notch). The minimum brightness is a bit high.

Can you point me to a guide to run Lineage os or RR on out SE?
I am familiar in flashing custom for many years but i am new to treble and just heard about it.
Unlock your bootloader, flash a TWRP and format your data partition. Then flash and try to boot the latest xiaomi.eu rom. If you succeed, format /data /system /cache and flash /system with an arm64 GSI for A only devices such as https://github.com/phhusson/treble_...d/lineage-v21/system-arm64-aonly-gapps-su.img

ok, i am running xiaomi.eu rom so thats allready done.
The img i download is allready the lineage os, what i see
And is there a completely different forum/site where just. only trebel based custom roms are stored and discussed.
Is it gapps included, because normally it has to be flashed separtly.
Can you just format and go back to any miui rom, and when wanted to trebel based, just flash img file in /system again
Sorry for all the questions

Gapps are included in the above link. You don't need to flash anything else. And yes you can always flash the stock rom. Just remember to erase /data when you change between MIUI & AOSP based ROMs.

Normally when i switch between custom i allways full wipe
/dalvik

As long as format data was once, i dont have problem..
Can you provide links for more like RR for SE?
I didnt knew there was development at all for SE on custom roms
EDIT: https://forum.xda-developers.com/pr...opment/resurrection-remix-phh-treble-t3767688
this one is for RR, and if i am correct you linked me to the first in the V5 section, so the xiaomi mi 8 se is a ARM64 A-only device?
But what is the difference between gapps and vanilla

Gapps include google services, vanilla does not.
Mi 8/SE are ARM64 A-only devices. You can try flashing any treble based rom with a high chance to operate normally. With a decent treble implementation, there is no need for custom rom development. The device specific blobs are moved to a separate partition and are provided by vendor.

Notches are "expected" on AOSP only with P and newer Android versions.
It probably can be modded but since P is around the corner, it might not be worth it.

Thanks @pavankatari for this nice rom! It´s the first pie rom with working magisk for me.
Btw where can I find the settings for network status, battery icon and something else? And I´m missing advanced reboot button for recovery.

Edit: Found network status and battery icon under network and display settings. Is there a customation to add advanced reboot button at power button?

What a disappointment! After installing magisk it runs well for the very first time on a pie rom for me, but after a reboot the same issue: Magisk manager said magisk is not installed . Yes I did but this wasn´t the reason. It seems it depends to the kernel. The only working kernel with magisk is jaguar kernel 7.5.29. There are a lot of guys with the same issue, but curiously not all santoni users.

Most GSI requires Oreo base. Since u have PIE, you're limited to phh AOSP v108, Octopus latest, AEX official, Descendant 1.5 or 2.1 made by the Real John Galt avail. on Telegram for G6 (2.0 needs Oreo). VOLTE generally doesn't work on GSI--just 4G. If u need VOLTE, stay on stock Oreo or PIE. RR7 disallows SD card (int/ext) access but works on PIE base

HueyT. Have tried just about every possible way of installing RR on Moto G6. The last attempt was to completely wipe phone(format, and all directories deleted.). Flashed AOSP 9 PHH treble. It booted properly. Completed "basic setup" then after brought to home screen, powered down. Rebooted into FastBoot. Dirty flashed RR 9 from official download site, and it never passes boot screen. Have left the device for over 30 minutes. Any help would be appreciated!

There are several GSI's flashable off of PIE vendors: pHH AOSP v111, Descendant AOSP v2.1 (John Galt has customized it to G6 on our Telegram group with Gapps built-in, but GSI vanilla version listed here will work also), AEX official 6.1, Octopus 11/18, PixelExperience 8/2018 version, LOS16, DotOS and Syberia by Nfound on Android File Host) are those that I can cofirm work on PIE vendors.
The other GSI's are best installed on top of stock Oreo vendors.
Most GSIs, VOLTE does NOT work (just 4G data) and PLAY Store is NOT certified (except John Galt's version as it's customized for our G6). Most Play Store needs Device ID apk to get GSF value to manually register your phone before Play store will work.
Hello, I am currently using Bliss rom 12.9. The Bliss ROM OP gives zero information about vendor/firmware requirements. I suggest you ask this question within the Bliss ROM thread.
I have cleared dalvik, cache, system, vendor ,data and then flashed vendor 12.0.2 and then flashed evo x 4.5, havoc os 3.7 and also force decryption, but all the same, the FOD is not working. When I change the vendor to version 11.0.8 ,all is working. But the the latest version of evox, havoc os ,bliss rom are only working when vendor 12.0.2 been flashed, not working when vendor 11.0.8 been flashed. That is okay, but the problem is in vendor 12.0.2 ,the FOD is not working, but in vendor 11.0.8 ,the fod is working perfectly

If nothing else seems to be working, then try flashing the official 12.0.2 China fastboot ROM. Boot into that and see if you have working FOD. If everything is OK, then flash the ROM you want over MIUI. At this point you won't need to flash vendor and firmware files, as will you already have the correct versions installed.
I've got a Chinese phone too, and am using LOS with no problems. When the LOS requirements changed from 11.0.8 to 12.0.2 vendor and firmware, I actually decided to flash the MIUI fastboot ROM first, instead of flashing just the vendor and firmware, because I thought there was a greater chance of problems with the jump in MIUI major version.
Hey bro, thanks for helping. Can you please provide the link for official miui fastboot rom, from where i can download?
