It's a feature of the router to support 5ghz band. You'll have to look if your router supports it or not and if it does how to enable it.

You can do nothing of it AFAIK in Honor/Huawei devices same chip is used for Bluetooth and WiFi and hence the issue is arising.

[Q] Issues with WiFi

Guys, since I've bought my razr I, I have this terrible issue with wifi connection. Everything works perfectly normal, but when I let the phone idle for like 10 minutes, it's like the wifi drops the connection. The device tells it's still connected, but I get no push notifications and no navigation either. It only happens when I'm at home, and the most affected is the whatsapp. Anynone has any information regarding this?

if it only happens at home as you say it seems to be more a problem of your router (settings).

Have you got any idea of what settings I should look? Here I have an iPhone and blackberry and both have their wifi working like a charm.
Updating the firmware of your router would be the first thing to try.
Set your WiFi connection to 2.4ghz only (on your phone) and deactivate the 802.11n standard (on your router). In my Fritz!Box, i had to chose 802.11 b+g. The razr i doesn't like the n standard, although it "officially" supports it.
My Ri runs on 5GHz only like hell

What should i look after?
I found the problem. Turns out i was connected to my 5ghz wifi instead of the 2.4ghz. I only lost 1% during the hour now on the 2.4.

May I know how do you set your phone to connect only on 2.4Ghz?
On my old phone (Nexus 5X) in Marshmallow (not Nougat) I could disable 5Ghz on the phone. I can't find this in my P9, Marshmallow C636B180

Ah....you had my heart aflutter for just a moment. Unfortunately my issue is with work wifi, set by corporate IT.
Due to the multiple hotspots @ 5Ghz @ same SSID it just drives the phone crazy. This is especially worse when you have wifi based location switched on.

Sorry man
I can feel your pain. But its really weird that the 5Ghz is such a battery drainer? I just dont understand that. I read something about the similar problems you experiencing at work. If im not mistaked the solution was to set up some kind of wifi hotspot. Cant seem to find the website again tho.

Problem with 5GHz WiFi networks

I got yesterday this smartphone and I have one problem.
I conected to two different routers to 5GHz network and I get so much low download speed, around 1mb. When I conect to a 2.4GHz network I get full speed.
Does anyone have this same issue?

Yes
Try different channels, different time of the day/week to try and rule out interference.

Reboot is always required to use internet.

This is very inconvenient. If I disconnect from WiFi or LTE, then reconnect, apps do not detect the netwoork unless I reboot first. Has anyone experienced this problem or have a solution?

Never thought of doing that. I don't think that would be a complete solution though, because on LTE the issue still exists; it is not just a problem on WiFi.
Are you using some extreme power saving options/solutions/aps etc etc ?

Last nite I installed the OTA update of android 9. Since then the problems have been non existant. I will continue to update this post, and try all the tips I have been offered, if the problem returns.
I found the source of the problem. The VPN I use was preventing the apps from accessing the Internet.

(Bug report) rog phone 2 restart its wifi and cellular connection when sim(s)... .

Rog phone 2 restart its wifi and cellular connection at the same time when sim(s) has weak cellular reception. ( It completely disconnected from cellular service and wifi for around 3seconds before it's establish it's new connection. It's very annoyed when i play game. Because if i don't turn off my sim(s) or use airplane mode while i play game. I will get disconnected from connection in the middle of the game(afk).)
How could i report the problem?
There are few members here also have same problem as me.
you could try do disable Wi-Fi scanning - search in the settings for 'scanning' and under Wi-Fi scanning, disable wifi and bluetooth. it may just fix the issue... so i have read on the telegram group forum

Solution is change your router wireless signal to either 2.4g or 5g but not mixed, as the phone tends to jump between the 2 quite often causing the disconnects.

Hey I've found out what to do and it's pretty simple. The cause of the disconnecting is that this phone keeps from switching from 5ghz Frequency to 2.4 and back so what you need to do is make your router stay at 5ghz or 2.4ghz (you can watch a video about the deferences so you can choose what to turn off)
Follow these steps:
Go to settings---Network and Internet---WiFi---click on your wifi---find gateway number (example 192.***.*.1) then write it in a Browser and it will send you to your Router provider website.
Now that site looks different from person to person so what you do now is look around that site until you find an option to turn off one of both GHz (2.4 or 5) so yeah that is pretty much it have fun a with stable wifi connection =)
