Hello
I have a Huawei P9 Plus. With Android 6 there was a setting available under Battery Manager called Protected apps for allowing apps to keep running after the screen is turned off. I have now updated my phone to Android 7.0 and I cannot find this setting anymore.
Does somebody know where I can set the protected app setting in Android 7?

is there a way to lock specific individual apps on the nokia 8?
i am ablet o do this on my op3 & huawei p9 (and previously was n my honor 7) without the need for a 3rd party app but can't seem to find an option to do it on the nokia 8? would have though it was a pretty basic feature?
Not a pure android feature and therefore isn't available as this is as close to pure android as you get outside of Google.
Hi,
I bought a case that has windows on the side. It comes with an app but it crashes in Android 10. Without it, there is no auto-sleep/wake.
Does anyone know an app that can run on Android 10?
Thanks
Contact the developer for an update or downgrade your phone to Android 9. If the function depends on the app, you have no more options.
Hello
I just updated my phone (iqoo5) from android 10 to 11 and I'm having an issue setting android auto permission.
After the screen requesting i give android auto permission to display over other apps I simply can't see android auto in the list of applications.
I've tried going directly into the list of applications with/without drawing over app permission, but the screen is identical to that shown in the AA request.
I have enabled all other permissions for AA but this one does not appear.
Any ideas?
Hello,
Today I was unfortunately forced to update Android Auto to 7.8.622514-release. My Android Auto was running really stable with 7.5 (and I had really bad experience with 7.1 and 7.3 --> therefore I'm absolutely no fan of this forced updates).
I checked the functionality with a second phone with the app "Headunit Reloaded".
I noticed that I have a now the "Google" app available in Android Auto.
But it seems to me that the app has no function at all. I just have the message "no new messages during your drive".
Moreover it also does not appear in the launcher settings on my phone. Therefore I can't even deactivate the Google app.
Does anyone else have this? Does anyone know what kind of function the app should have?
I really do not think that I need this app. I prefer to have a clean Android Auto. Is there any other way to deactivate this app from Android Auto?
Thanks a lot.
Update: I also noticed that the Google Assistant shortcuts vanished and can't get brought back...Where are my Google Assistant shortcuts now?
Update 2: now after using Android Auto today for some drives in my car, everything is normal again. The Google app was gone after the 2nd drive and I could add my Assistant shortcuts again after the 3rd drive. I'm really curious why this happened...
I just hate these forced updates.
Hello all.
If I look on the internet for "Android auto alternative" then I get apps for on phone itselves, that use phone screen.
For unrooted android smartphone.
I want to know if their is a (prefer open source like f-droid apps) real alternative for android auto, that shows apps on the car entertainment system (in my case a Subaru from 2020).
I don't want android auto because:
- I need to install google apps, but I removed as much google and huawei apps as possible on my huawei mate 20x 5G.
- google decide what apps are accesssable/supported by android auto.
-with every android auto app update it is fingers crossed if the used apps are still available (for example Signal app suddenly gone from car screen).
So what none google app can I use to get my phone screen on my car multimedia system that supports android auto.
You can try MirrorLink if supported. But there is no other alternative as far as I know.
Unfortunately.
