Blank Emails - Samsung Galaxy Note 9 Questions & Answers

Can someone please advise how I can restore my emails. At the moment whenever I open an email it is blank. I tried a few tricks like switching Developer Oltions on and off, clear or delete cahe of email app. I 3ven tried deleting chrome and reinstall email app. I have a note 9.
Thank you in advance.

What email app are you using? I assume you are properly logged in? How far back do you have the app syncing emails?

Sir, again thank you for your response. The app which I'm using is Aquamail and I actually had to reinstall the to answer your question on how far back I'm syncing. All I can say it's very far. Total of almost 6000 emails but the other app us doing the same. I know it has nothing to do with the app itself more about something on the system. It happened to me before but I simply can't recall what I did to fix it. I was thinking of reinstalling the Rom however I'm sitting with another dilemma. My OEM disappeared with my last installment of the Lightroom. It's been over 7 days and it never reappeared. I'm not so sure of taking the chance of reinstalling the Rom which I feel is very necessary at this moment because most of my apps if not all of it crashes whenever I open it
Thanks

Try wiping the Cache Partition in Recovery Mode. If that doesn't work back up your device and perform a Hard Factory Reset.

Sms problem in galaxy tab

Receiving sms but end up in a different contact name. Anyone has this problem? Pls help.
Sent from my GT-P1000 using XDA App
To put it simply just restore factory presets and try again. Should work.

I have experienced the same problem.
How would restoring factory presets help? (and what settings does this actually restore?)
same probleme with mine (SFR France), it suddenly started doing that two days ago and now all new received messages are messed up.
Will try to delete the messaging cache only at first (I have quite a few programs installed and would not like to reset the tablet....)
if anyone has a fix (even if it needs root......) I am happy to know it.
It seems to happen with all android phones BTW, so must be solved somehow no?
Had the same thing, after reboot all messages were in the right conversations.

Nothing new, had this issue with multiple Android devices.
A long long discusion about it, and it seemes google has fixed the sms problems, so its just to await updates from vendors.
PS a good rule to folow is.
Once you open messaging app, let it settle before moving arround in messages.
There have been issues with sms showing up under wrong persons, and sms going out to wrong person, depending on faulty situation.
Btw as long as you always send clean and nice sms's its not a real problem? is it?
Hahaha

true!
BTW, I have my tab working back ok.
what I did is go on settings/softwares/Manage/ and force closed and deleted all cache from the messaging programs.
after that, I had to reset my SMS ringtones, server phone number and it goes great since!
no format or loss of any message, and everything sorted out.
give it a try, always better than a wipe.
I could not find the path mentioned Settings/Softwares/Manage. Are you talking about Settings from the sms screen, the main tab screen, or something else? Appreciate if you could help to clarify.
Thanks.

Facebook App doesn't work after HC Upgrade

Hey everyone,
So I just upgraded my DS7 to Honeycomb, pretty new to this Android thing, so I haven't rooted anything, just running the stock Dell version.
After the upgrade the Facebook App doesn't seem to work. I can log in, but my Newsfeed never displays anything, it just continuously shows the little loading circles spinning around.
Any ideas?

Have you reset (power off and on) after you update? Check to see if there is an update to Facebook. Mines works fine after the update. After the update, if you did not go through the setup procedure, you might want to do a factory reset to clear out all the old data and begin fresh. I did that and my Streak 7 is working smoothly, no problem at all.
I have rebooted it a number of times, but no luck. I've been thinking about doing a factory reset and then upgrading to HC after that, as almost all my data is stored in the cloud, so I would just need to back up my apps.
I'm still pretty new to Android though, so I'm a little nervous about doing that sort of thing.
My Facebook app is also giving me problems. The newsfeed and profile tab and some of my friends wall wont load all the time. After a reboot it did help but like I said, sometimes I have the same issue. I will keep an eye on it and see whats up.

Try opening a friends wall and go back to yours. Play with it a few times back and forth. Also, try an uninstalland update again. Clear cache and data.

You have already upgrade to Honeycomb, so all you have to do is a factory reset to clear out the old data. You will not loose your honeycomb update, just the data. Go into the recovery mode: power off, then press & hold the Volume Up and Power button until the recovery screen comes up, then follow the instructions it provide.
mine is working fine... did you try to clear data once?
Try resetting App in Applications

Before you reboot, try by going into settings, applications, and then pull up all applications and scroll down to Facebook, when it comes up...click on the "Clear Data" option. It will clear out all setting for Facebook, then go to the Market and check for Facebook updates. Once you've done that, reboot your Streak, then try accessing Facebook to see it it the issue cleared. Facebook works fine on my Streak.
Now comes the big question: How do I remove this Facebook application? Used to have it but was addicted, strangely enough I am unable to remove the application. Am I the only one that does not want to be on Facebook? The service is running and therefore is doing something even if it was just taking up space...... anyone?

Root+ titanium back = freeze the app or uninstall
The Facebook 1.7.2 app on my mom's S7 crashes when she clicks the "friends" link if the tablet is being held in landscape mode. It works properly when held in portrait mode.
Wifi only HC update issues
I'm having a lot of the same issues that are being mentioned here.
For starters, I can't seem to install/move apps to SD after upgrading.
Facebook app doesn't work very well (if at all) even with update applied or clearing data. I can cause it to crash simply by selecting the friends tab. I also noticed that trying to add fb via the accounts tab in system settings generates an error. My theory is that this is a bug stemming from contact syncing.
I say this because none of the apps seem to behave correctly in that sense. Twitter and Skype contacts get added even when you specify within the app settings to sync with existing contacts only.
The Paypal app experiences an error upon login, preventing you from getting past that initial screen.
Installing apps via Android Market from another computer doesn't work. You are given the option to send the app but it never shows up on the Streak. I have not tried this again since wiping the device last night.
Note: Prior to upgrading, I reset the device to factory state. Updated successfully. Found all the above issues. Reset to factory state again. No change in behavior. I think the build may be bad, but then again, I'm no expert.
Any help would be appreciated.

Google Contacts broken after 4.2.2 update

Is there any way to manually uninstall and reinstall Google Contacts on my Nexus 7? Ever since I updated, I just get the message "App stopped working" when I try to run it. I've tried stopping it, flushing the cache, signing out of my account, nothing helps.
I would appreciate any help. The tablet is rooted, so I know that opens up possible solutions.

I got it to go away by clearing the data of Contacts/Contacts Sync and then clearing data for Google Services Framework. Just go into Settings > Apps > All and they'll be in that list. It happens when you flash one rom over another one or something and they have some files that get mixed up. It seems like it's an issue that happens to a lot of people, but almost every thread has a somewhat different solution.
Hopefully my method works, if it doesn't, then reboot and go to Settings > Accounts (Google) > your email. In the upper right sign out of your account and then sign back in by going to any Google app. After a hand full of personal occurrences and many google searches, I believe this will work.
...Ok, apparently this method works somewhat. I still get the message once after every boot up, but it doesn't show up after that. The only really reliable way to get rid of it is to backup your apps (not the google ones, since they are broked) and factory reset, since that does always remove it.

Thanks for replying.
After clearing the caches and restarting, my message went from "app not working" to "app not installed."

heya....app data sync is the phones information that is transmitting itself to google. people details, app congigs, pics contacts...all of that. under your accounts setting, under google, you should see a tick box for app data. thats what is failing in your words. i think you should start by going into settings/apps/running/ find the sync service, force stop, clear cache and go from there. or you could just clear all your dalvik/cache in recovery if you havnt in awhile. would do some good for your processing since more mem would be avail afterward. hope this helps some.
I ended up doing a factory reset via recovery. Thanks for your help though. I now know what App Data sync is.

Not clear enough to provide an exact solution, but there are quite a bit of changes made to how the user is notified with lollipop; All, Priority and None modes. Use your vol up or down key on your homescreen and make sure you chose all, then give it a try!

Only these two steps monitor the notifications. If nothing is happening, try clearing cache from the recovery. If even that doesn't help, a factory reset will do the work.

Are you sure all your sync's are on and you aren't on battery saving mode? Clearing cache wouldn't really help your cause, but in any case once you get to the android guy, tap power+vol up button simultaneously for a second and let go, repeat until you get the menu; it is a bit finicky

Sending gmail to yourself is not a good test, especially with certain routers which have problems with loop back issues. Have someone else send you an email, outside your network.

I email myself plenty of times from other emails, problem is obviously in something else, definitely not in email sending part.

I did not turn any syncing off and battery mode isn't on...
after doing Factory reset, that solved that.. but unfortunately not for long as a little bit over a week later I came back to exactly same issue AGAIN(((
You could try installing a different launcher see if this somehow kick starts notifications. I use Nova Launcher, you can get an unread count plugin for it which tells you how many missing emails, text messages, what's app messages etc you have. You may not need to install that though just nova launcher, switch to that and then back to Google Now (if you prefer it) then that should hopefully give it a kick.
