Hi guys, tried to search the forum before posting and not quite sure if its a Samsung ROM thing or an Android thing, or just a "Stupid me" thing. For a few days now I am noticing a strange event that occurs every 30 minutes passed round hour on an hourly basis, I captured a video clip of it and attached here.
It is getting very annoying and I cant find the root cause for the issue.
phone is Note9, unrooted, only official apps from store are installed and I downloaded Kaspersky AV but didnt find any malware/virus.
I would love to hear if anyone has any idea what this might be or a good way of finding the cause.
Thanks !
Are you talking about how that white screen comes up for a moment and then disappears?

First off, I apologize if this question has been answered, I truly looked and couldn't find if this was addressed.
Just picked up a Galaxy Gear last night to go with my Note 3 and so far I am having a blast with it. The only thing I have an issue with is, when I use S-Voice it seems pretty slow to get going and send to my phone. I choose to reply to a text and it takes quite a few seconds before the beep letting me know I can begin speaking and then quite a few more seconds after I finish before it shows me what I said.
Overall, the S-Voice works accurately but very slowly. Is this something that everyone is experiencing and is it restrained by bluetooth and do you think it can fixed with a future update? Thanks for any help
same here

i think thats normal... have the same problem... does S stand for SLOW VOICE?????
Hey guys, so I got my Pebble a few days ago and I noticed a weird glitch that has happened to me everyday where the text would randomly get really small on the watch face and any notification. I think it might have to do with Glance, because Glance seems to freeze up when this happens and eventually reboots. The text goes back to normal after this. This isn't a huge problem since it reboots very quickly, but I was just curious if there might be a fix Thanks.
So, this bug is occurring almost everyday. Again, it reboots in literally 2 seconds so it's not a huge deal, but I was just curious if anyone else had the problem. I took a picture when it happened, it's not very clear. Basically, the text gets very small and then if I go into Glance, I see this http://imgur.com/CP3dTa3. Half the screen is black and then right after I try to scroll within the screen it reboots and then it's fine for a day or so. I think it's most likely a problem with glance but I'm not sure.

I've experienced this too, the small text anyway. I've never gone to look at Glance when it happens. I'll try to remember to check that next time it happens.
Unfortunately I can't really be of much help with a fix.

I guess I can try uninstalling glance and see if the problem disappears.
That's a bug with pebble and 3rd party apps. I've noticed it with other 3rd party apps other then glance.
I have to notice that on pebble after a factory reset and no 3rd party app.

The small print means that the Pebble is running out of memory, usually caused by third party apps. Glance has this problem and that's the reason I don't use it. With 2.x firmware I haven't had the issue, but still not using Glance, so i don't know if the problem is solved

Thanks guys for the explanation. I suppose that makes sense. Again, not a huge issue, just my thing is that I want to make sure it's not a defect in the device.
Hi, I hate to just jump into a new forum with a "cry for help", but I have been trying to get to the bottom of this issue and someone suggested that I post about it here. I am wondering if anyone has seen the following issues or has any insight into what might be the cause and/or a solution?
I apologize in advance for being long winded, but I am hoping the more infor I provide the more likely someone will be able to help me.
Since I got my (original) Moto X in December the driving mode worked most of the time. It wasn't until somewhere between or around the contextual services update and the subsequent Assist update that I noticed the problem, it could have been there before, but i became very aware of it once I noticed that my assist was not "learning" my cars bluetooth as described in the update. Since then I have noticed that assist recognizes when I am driving 1/3-1/2 the time at best. I have gone through motorola tech support and they tried clearing all related data, reinstalling apps and even a factory reset, nothing eliminated the problem for more than a day or so. They replaced my phone despite me insisting it's not a hardware issue. New phone has the same symptoms. Here are the symptoms and what I have tried.
-When it works it takes 1-5 minutes usually, it used to kick in within seconds of being in motion.
-Works >80% of the time if i go somewhere first thing in the AM after it's been charging or after a power cycle.
-Works ~50-75% of the time if I begin to drive again after it works once so long as it's after a fairly short stop.
-Fails to recognize driving 75-90% of the time if I have been in one place for a long period of time (ie after leaving work or running an errand after being home most of the day)
-Toggling "talk to me" under assist driving options while driving sometimes gets it to kick in.
-Opening google maps will kick it in sometimes as well.
-When it's not working I've had my wife watch it in the car and it will show the location services icon in the top as though it is checking, but not kick on.
-I am not using any task killers, I have tasker installed, but I have deactivated it.
I have been trying all kinds of different scenarios to isolate what the problem is so if there is anymore info i can provide to help make it clearer I probably have it so please ask.
Thanks for any help you can provide.
-Kev
You're describing my phone exactly except I can get Drive Assist to turn on every time if I use the app called GPS Status before I start driving. I think it has something to do with the GPS.

I have a thread about what is likely related to this on both xda and moto support forums. I will link in the morning, but I just **** this [poor quality] video this evening, it seems to demonstrate the issue.

Is this a known bug with all moto x phones or just a few. Is it futile to return the phone?

Exchanging seems futile, perhaps 4.4.2 will help but that's just blind hope which is worthless
Here is a link to the other XDA thread. I still need to update and link the Moto Support thread too.

I'm about to receive my third warranty replacement for the numerous problems I had with my Note4. Most of the problems are fixable (camera, GPS, etc), but one problem is bad and I don't see a simple solution.
Something seems to be intermittently stealing the focus from my app (I believe). So, if I'm watching YouTube, it randomly pauses because it thinks I've switched apps. If I'm recording video, it randomly stops, because it thinks I've switched apps. If I'm playing a video game, it pauses while I'm playing until 'I return'. If I go to the app-switcher, sometimes it closes randomly before I select which running app to switch to.
I actually bought a new SD card (64GB wasn't really doing it for me, anymore, anyways) but the problem persists. The phone does seem better behaved before all my apps repopulate (although there's not much to do on the phone before the apps are back), so I suspect it's an app, but I haven't heard anything about this sort of problem on any website or forum.
Lastly, the problem may have started around the time of the StageFright patch in August, but a lot of apps also updated around that time.
I'm stock 5.0.1 without root (maybe in the future), although I always disable T-Mobile bloatware like DT_Ignite. Any help or suggestions are appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Thanks - And sorry for the late reply (I don't remember getting a notification about a reply). I'll try your suggestion if the problem comes back.
It appears to be a problem with the Samsung Techwin app for their video cameras. For others, the app would just randomly pop-up during phone use, making the problem easier to diagnose. For me, it would just steal focus.
I uninstalled the app & things are back to normal.

Very cool you found what was giving the problem. I'll remember this fix as well, another tool in the toolbox!
Hey,
While most of you are debating upgrading to Marshmallow, I've finally bitten the bullet and upgraded to Lollipop after being put off by some horror stories.
Enjoying it so far and feeling a bit silly for putting it off... Nut I've seen a couple of things that looked like they mightve been adverts?
One was in my lock screen soon after I upgraded but I've not seen it again since.
The other is in my messaging app and appears for literally a split second sometimes when moving between messages or menus.
I took a screen record and slowed it right down to see it. I took a screenshot but am too new a member to upload but it says "get all the content from your old device with xperia transfer mobile".
Has anyone else seen this? It appears to be an official Sony app. Is this adware on my phone or is it just a glitch that for a split second the phone thinks there is no data and inviting me to import old stuff?
