So, I need to get this straight.
LG said that with the JB update the bootloader will get Unlocked, here is my question.
Do we have to unlock the bootloader ourselves?
Or it was supposed to be Unlocked with the update? By us doing nothing else than officialy update trought Support Tool/PC suite.

Bootloader is locked by default, for security reasons. The new update will give you official tools to unlockit it. If you look around the section, you will see tutorial.

I know there is a tutorial, I was just confused and needed confirmation.
Tought LG said in their announcement that bootloader will get unlocked WITH the update and then messed up.
Thanks for the heads up.
You must self unlock Bootloader.
When you update the Bootloader is locked.

Hey
I would like to update to pie as soon as it rolls out to my phone but I'm afraid that I can't unlock my bootloader after the update.. I have the code already but I didn't unlock my phone yet.
Will I still be able to unlock after pie update?

After unlocking the bootloader, can I still roll back to stock and receive official OTA updates from Nokia?

Generally there is a check and ota updates aren't allowed for unlocked bootloader. You should be able to download the update and sideload it.
So just to confirm, if i root my N7+, i lose my warranty and even if i revert back to stock and relock the bootloader then i still won't receive OTA updates and my warranty will still be gone?

I was able to update OTA just fine with bootloader unlocked using stock recovery. The check might be of you root, but I'm not sure.

This questions should be adequately asnswered by official support.
The warranty agreement states that it doesn't cover damage caused by modified software. In real terms that means bricking your phone, in actuality it depends on what they categorise as such.

The unofficial unlocks aren't registered to Nokia and they probably have no way to check that it was unlocked. So, lock the bootloader and you should be good for warranty.

Is there really no possible way to unlock the bootloader without paying?
I'm not willing to pay for something that might not work...
Edit: even worse. I would have to pay 7$ (but out of stock, wtf?) to have someone I don't know remotely take over my computer.

There's currently no way you can unlock without paying. There are 2 options though. If you have a Nokia Care around you, you can convince them to flash an older version of software (before August 2018). Then you can simply buy the unlock key and use it.
Else the remote is the only option. I can offer those too (but for $8). I have some good reviews from people if that helps. I know it's still dealing with strangers and for your safety and security, you can run Windows inside a virtual machine (Virtual Box and VmWare do good). And that ensures that the remote person will only have access to the guest Windows which won't expose your host files in any way. You can destroy the guest install after that [emoji106]

I want to refresh my phone but I have yet to unlock the bootloader. Ive a few questions if anybody can advise please
If I want to unlock the bootloader and root the phone, I'll obviously have to wipe the phone during the process and lose data etc. I downloaded Swift Back up - which backs up to G Drive. Would it be possible to restore some/if not all data after I put say Lineage OS on my phone?
Or does anybody have any suggestions to back up my stuff before I go through the process to root. I suppose one way would be to manually drag/drop anything across while connected in Windows.
Any thoughts please?
Bootloader must be unloaded!!!

Keep in mind relocking your bootloader won't get you any OTA updates anymore. You will have to manually flash your device from now on, since your IMEI is blacklisted by Asus OTA server.

Hi all,
My latest Nokia 9 Pureview got from eBay is unbock bootloader ready, so it cant get OTA update. So have any method to get it to re-lock for got OTA update?
Thanks for help and support
Wait... Is that possible to unlock Nokia 9 bootloader? I think that no way to unlock it in the first place.
Are you sure it's bootloader unlocked? Usually when eBay sellers say the device is unlocked, they mean it's not locked down to a specific carrier and can be used with any. Not sure about Nokia's policy on manually updating the device, but no tools exist that I know of for that.
I tried to unlock bootloader on Nokia 6.1 2018 and it works. Google it how to locked bootloader . You will get the procedure
Type this command in adb and fastboot
fastboot flashing lock
