I would like to know if there is a complete list (thorough) of all the features found on the S10 and S10+ that are NOT on the S10E? Including stuff like nit brightness and 10-bit HDR10+ playback. I know the Gorilla Glass 6 is not on the 10E (GG5). I just think a complete list would be a great reference point for those here deciding between the three phones. Thanks!

One of the things I have wondered about the Note 4 is how much better the QHD screen was in real-world comparision with 1080p. We all know the specs are amazing but does it really matter in everyday use?
When I played around with the Note 4 briefly I was astounded with the quality of the sample QHD videos. However in general use it didn't seem that much better than the GS5 next to it. I didn't get the opportunity to do web reading where QHD might matter.
So my question to those with the Note 4 particularly for those who have used the Note 3 as well: how much better is the screen in actual real-world use based on your subjective experience. Where does it make the most difference: videos, gaming, web reading ?
If you have done side-by-side comparison of the Note 3/4 in any of these activities that would be especially interesting.
Screen is better in everyway yes you mostly dont notice higher res but with small writings you can definitly see the sharpness. But mostly screen is better in other ways like better brightness better colors
Question in the title really. I'm getting a OnePlus 3T because it's the clearly sensible choice for my wants and needs. But one thing it's missed compared to newer phones, HDR. Seeing as it's using the same display technology as many other phones, would it not be possible to get an open HDR standard like HDR10 on the phone? Am I a nit-wit who knows nothing about how this all works on Android? Both?
Thanks.
HDR is a standard the includes more colors than the ~16 million commonly used in 32 bit rgb. This is achieved by defining colors with more than 16 intensities for the R, G and B diodes. I'm pretty sure you have design the screen to display at HDR; it's not going to be able to process color info at greater than 32 bit if it wasn't.
Anyways, it's not like there's much HDR content to use at this time anyways. A few generations of phones will probably be released before mainstream HDR content begins to take hold.
The display have to be capable of displaying the HDR range of colours. There are tons of AMOLED displays out there that can't display HDR and I would assume OnePlus wanted to advertise if the panel in the 3T had this capability. Since it's one of the newer "buzzwords" for mobile devices.

No, it's a hardware feature that the OP3T doesn't have.

Dear all,
I have a Samsung Galaxy Note3 right now, and are thinking of upgrading to Note8. One of my use case is that I use Lynda.com a lot (to learn AI and machine learning, etc.), and for Note3, some of the Lynda.com training videos (e.g. coding tool screen and menus) would not be readable on Note3 screen (due to screen-size). I wonder if this would be improved on the Note8 (given it's LONGER but slightly narrower screen-size)? Does anyone has experience here and maybe can post some side-by-side comparison photos or videos, etc.? Thanks a lot!

Here's a screenshot of that website. Maybe compare to your N3?
I suppose because the N8 has higher pixel density, more information will fit onto the screen than your N3.
Also, the Browser has a video pop out function. It will keep playing the video in a window while you browse the site... not sure how compatible it is with all video types...

1 The display looks completely fine to me. If you want to test it under laboratory conditions, it might only get average results or it might get great results. It's irrelevant to me. To my eyes it's definitely more than good enough.
2. Who knows the future? If a large number of POCO F1 devs move onto this phone, then it should have a healthy custom ROM scene.
3. Not that I've noticed, but then I don't play the sort of games where any issues would be noticeable.

1. It's a FHD+ (1080) Samsung AMOLED display, it's a long way from a budget phone display. It isn't the best display Samsung make, but it's still very good. It won't have the most accurate colour rendition, it won't have the greatest dynamic range, it won't have the highest brightness. But in everyday use you will not notice that it's not the absolute best. Unless you're a serious photographer, wanting to see your work on the phone, or if want to watch HDR+ movies on the phone, then it's more than good enough.
2. The developer of the only actively worked on LOS GSI has done some great work to activate the front cam whenever any app wants to use it. This fix is slowly working it's way into other GSI ROMs. There is still an issue with the front cam popping up when the phone first boots, but it's early days and the phone's not yet been released globally. If enough devs get their hands on it, when it's more widely released, we should see some custom ROMs specific for the phone.

Hi all, about to purchase the S8+ but would like to get confirmation on how the S8+ performs on these three streaming apps. Does it deliver HDR on all three, or just full HD? Concerned as seeing Netflix forums changing woodvine levels on various tablets. Thanks!

Can't give you an answer for APV or Disney+, but the Tab S8+ does indeed support full HD playback and has Widevine Level 1. It also has support for HDR10+. I have a rooted S8+ and I enjoy full HD content on it regularly.
Thanks SavXL. And in Netflix can you watch in HDR or just full HD? Just trying make sure I'll get most out of the screen

It only shows the max resolution as full HD for me.
Side note, i do not think anyone adapted HDR10+ outside of Amazon.
The thing about HDR+ is that it is heavily supported by Samsung and Amazon, as a gimmick against DolbyVision. From what i know, which may have changed, you wont get HDR10+ from Netflix, Apple TV and Disney+.
