Hey, does someone already find a method to root the ZTE Axon Pro A1P?
Some tips..?
Edit
I have been looking through the device (Axon Pro) and in several instances am seeing bootloader:Unkown... I have a bad feeling about that.. does anybody have any info why this might be? Also has anybody tried rooting the device manually using http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2684210 ....? I will try the method, however, I forgot that I deleted Ubuntu and am running win10. So I was able to push all the busybox/su/superuser files and chmod them but then hit the linux wall
also looking
also looking for root options
anyone have solutions?

I tried it without lucky. However, I were able to obtain temporally root through 3rd party tool. But unable to flash recovery since the bootloader is locked. You can't even enter the bootloader mode.
Hey can you please PM me or post how u were able to gain temporary root? Thanks in advance
I am also curious on how you obtained root.

I used KingRoot but it didn't always work. Beware, this tool will install some apps and may slow down your android based on my experience. What's more, you will lose the root after restart.
*Sadness*
I guess those of us with the Axon pro will have to wait longer
This is what getting an unpopular phone gets you

Sorry, I don't own this phone anymore, but see if this works to disable write protection.

If so, if you're still on 5.1? Kingo root for the PC should give you full root.
Axon Pro Twrp and Root!?
Seems like no one has been active on the Axon Pro. Is there anyone out there willing to work on it or should I buy an Axon 7 instead. Seems like that phone has more attention. But the Axon Pro does have an unlocked bootloader aswell only in the us tho.
This is more of a call for devs than anything else. Is anyone working on Twrp or will we have to wait forever for official support??

I would just move to the axon 7 if I where you or even look elsewhere. The new honor 8 looks good. Me personally I jumped ship back to htc with the htc 10. I couldn't be happier. I have root and roms, but to bad I don't have android pay .
Th
I don't understand why ANY phone not bought directly through a carrier such as Verizon, would possibly have a locked boot loader, or why they would even come without root by default? Senseless that we even have to check such things before deciding what phone to buy - unlocked boot loader and option for root should be REQUIRED BY LAW before a phone is allowed to be sold!!!

P8 lite 2015 alel21 yes?
Old videos working
You also have tutorial in xda
Sent from my Moto G5S Plus using XDA Labs
Yep, ALE21 EMUI 4.0+ or something idk.
People say if I root or unlock my phone, it will brick your phone.
Do you got a tutorial video that really legit works?
Would be amazing if you give me a video or xda link how to unlock your phone + root.

If you have even a slightest idea of what you are doing, you won't be able to brick your phone.
You just need to unlock bootloader(which is most difficult part because you need to get key from huawei) There are tutorials about that.
Then flash TWRP in unlocked bootloader.
Also I think you must have system-less root or phone will boot loop.
Look for p8lite mega thread for more info. If you are rooting with superSU you need to flash 1.zip(found in thread) before flashing latest SuperSU to make it install in system-less mode.
Here is what ive learned
The only information i can find other than specs is by using the chinese search engine Baidu. I have had to use Google translate to read anything. Have you gone to the Chinese zte website? Thats where i have found some information. I even called Zte and they had never heard of the phone. Good luck and please share if you find anything.

Maybe it was necessary to root that way in the older versions but now I just flash SuperSU.zip from here and it works with no problem at all

Hi! I picked up my Canadian P20 Pro last week and couldn't be happier. It's been many years since I've owned a rootable device though and a lot has changed! I've done my best to read through all the guides for rooting the P20 Pro and it's only lead to further confusion as there seem to be many recent advancements. There seem to be a lot of different versions of this phone too. So I have some questions I'm hoping someone can answer easily! Let's assume my bootloader is already unlocked....
1) there's a really great guide on rooting the P20 Pro using All In One tool. But that requires flashing TWRP to achieve root using Magisk. I do not require TWRP as I only want root and do not wish to flash any roms.
a) is there a way to root with Magisk and NOT flash TWRP? I can't seem to find a straight answer on this...
b) failing that, can TWRP safely be removed and keep root afterward?
2) after unlocking the bootloader I was welcomed by a terrifyingly orange warning about my now 'unsafe' phone. I've read mixed things on hiding this. Is there currently a way to hide it?
3) how does the process work for OTA updates on an unlocked bootloader assuming there is no TWRP? I've read differing opinions on the necessity of flashing a no_check.img to the ramdisk and have no understanding of the new security checks on these phones. Can I run risk of bricking my phone through an automated update?
Ultimately I'm scared of forgetting TWRP is on my phone and accepting an update that'll brick it. Any information is welcome as are similar questions!
I am also curious if there is a good root process for this phone. Find anything yet?

I have a Canadian CLT-L04 that i rebranded and rooted to CLT-L29 with the guide on here.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/hu...de-how-to-root-debrand-remove-retail-t3788326
if you want better firmware compared to version 109 thats still on clt-l04 you can follow this guide, it worked well for me. (don't wait canadian OTA it'll take too long)
1) quite sure that TWRP is the easiest and safest way to root. Currently unaware of a better way to root the phone.
b) if you remove TWRP by flashing a stock recovery_ramdisk, root is kept. If you do an OTA though you might lose root.
2) thats here to stay i believe. Cannot find a way to hide it currently.
3)In this guide under the "install an OTA Stock Update: PC Method" you will find all the information you need.
cheers
I finally found the info I needed in this thread:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/hu...ide-getting-started-unlock-twrp-root-t3806180
Overall it was a very simple process and took less than an hour including reading. Once you've got your bootloader unlock code the all in one tool handles it from there. Unlock the bootloader, flash TWRP, reboot into TWRP, flash Magisk and you're done. You can flash the no_check file over TWRP if you want to be ready for updates but I decided to leave TWRP on for now. Loving having root on this phone so far!
On a different note, has anyone discovered any ROMs for this phone yet that can handle the notch? I almost tried Lineage until I found out there is no notch support. I've grown strangely fond of the thing for some reason lol

If you do a full backup of the L04 in TWRP before rebranding you should be able to go back to it easily at any time, just remember to save it somewhere safe other than the phone itself. If you've already flashed and are looking to go back you may find someone willing to share a stock backup if you ask around. But always best to do your own backup first, then you can go back whenever you like!

If not, then Ill update but if so, Ill just not update and unlock it as it is.

It's really easy to update once you've unlocked, I would suggest unlocking first if you have concerns. I have an L04 as well and just updated to 120 with no problems.

I do have an unlocked bootloader. Truth is i'm addicted to Rom's lol. That in mind I have tried every Rom, kernel, flash-able zip within this Forum and I can't brick this thing. L04 Canadian. Lineage is the best Rom for our device.
Roms that work:
- Lineage - Hauwei camera can be installed and works, dark mode works well.
------- Doesn't work: USB-C audio, NFC, RAW Option in the camera, Second ear piece as speaker, main speaker works well.
- First Ever Android 9 - Being the first build it works well. (Note: When I installed this rom I never installed the RemoveEncryption-P20Pro.zip) Seemed to work just fine without it. I did run it just because I wanted to see if it would brick my phone. It didn't.
-------Doesn't work: Dark mode, NFC, RAW Option in camera, Second ear piece as speaker, main speaker works well, seems to kill TWRP. eRecovery needed to get TWRP to function.
- AOSP 9 - Berkeley-Flex - Do Not Use...not ready.

What did you use to unlock your bootloader ? Funky ? Also I know what you mean I am addicted to Roms as well  Thanks for all the info I really appreciate it.
I used to use samsung before my p20 pro.
I did root my phone, and removed some unwanted system applications.
So, i did have a better battery life.
But, now, i have p20 pro.
I have 161 firmware on my phone.
I would like to unlock bootloader and root my phone..
But, they say that structure in huawei, is not same with samsung.
And it is not good to root system and remove system applications.
Phone becomes very unstable. And useless.
Do you agree?
If not, what is the benefits of rooting p20 pro then?
Thanks...

I dont know about your first question i want some answer too. But i do know the advantages of rooting could be , like Netcut to cut devices from your network, or lucky patcher, or even modify your kernel. Plus if you talk above about the BL then the advantage is to flash a custom rom for example. I think there are not many custom roms for Huawei devices. I had s8 and s9+ and movedw to Huawei because i love to change phones and wanted to see those three cameras.
You will have to have an unlocked bootloader first and to do so you'll now need to pay for a service as Huawei don't provide unlock codes anymore. The benefits are all the same with rooting any android device, it just boils down to what you need it for. I'm currently on the ".163" firmware and have root, but that being said I unlocked my bootloader back when Huawei provided codes. It's really just if you REALLY need root.

If you're talking about the bootloader, I obtained an unlock code via the Huawei website, but they no longer do that. You can find the services to do so in the P20 Pro forums.
Thank you very much for your answers.
There will be no problem if delete some applications after rooting?
I heard that deleting system applications would cause unstable system in huawei.
It's structure is different from samsung.

samsung and huawei phones are the same, in that if you remove the "wrong" app, it can make your phone unstable. some apps can very safely be uninstalled, while other apps (from samsung, huawei, or google or other vendor) will may constantly show force closed or error messages. a hard reset always takes care of the problem though

Do not relock your bootloader!! I did this and got my phone BRICKED! Looks like you got a Chinese version with Global ROM like me. Try to use Magisk .. I am still trying to figure out how to unbrick my device. Used it for 2 days .. and for this very reason got it messed up.

Did exactly the same thing, probably with the same Global ROM as well. Thoroughly regretting doing a re-lock now. I have it in Xiaomi Recovery right now so I should be able to use adb or fastboot. Is there a working ROM that I can attempt to flash to get it to boot again?

I was not able to flash anything on there via recovery. I read somewhere that it should be possible via Mi Flash Pro if you flash it with a ROM that is as new as the one on there. But have not been able to figure that one out. Now exploring deep flash... deep sadness that is! One shop said it could fix it for 49 USD .. so far for saving by ordering via AliExpress!
Let me know if you get anywhere with this. Would be happy to try anything

Hi all,
I have the same problem. My phone's bootloader was open since the first time, and I cannot use the Google pay. I tried to install a different rom, I had the global rom and I changed it to the EU rom (now is V10. 3.15.0) but still does not work. So strange because the Magisk says everything is fine, but I can't download the Netflix app from the play and can't use Google pay.
I really waiting for some kind of help...
