[Tutorial] How to use PrivateSpace? - Your secret space - Huawei Mate 20 Pro Guides, News, & Discussion

What is the PrivateSpace? How to use it?
PrivateSpace means creating a new system space on your phone, and then putting your private information (such as contacts, images, messages) here, so that you can hide the information that you don't want others to see.
1. How to enable PrivateSpace?
Open Settings > Security & privacy > PrivateSpace, follow the prompts to set a privacy password and fingerprint to create a private space.(Note: Only one PrivateSpace can be established)

"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",

}
2.How to enter PrivateSpace?
1) In the lock screen interface: Use the exclusive fingerprints or passwords which were set before.
2) On the main space: Open Settings> Security & privacy> PrivateSpace>Log in
3. How to quite PrivateSpace?
On the PrivateSpace, open the setting> Security & privacy> PrivateSpace, then choose to exit.
4.How to delete PrivateSpace?
Deleting PrivateSpace will delete all apps and data stored in this space and is unrecoverable. You can choose any of the following methods to delete it:
1) In the main space, open Settings > Security & privacy > PrivateSpace and click the three dots at the upper right corner, then choose to delete.
2) In the PrivateSpace, open Settings > Security & privacy > PrivateSpace and choose to delete directly.
5.How to switch quickly between main space and PrivateSpace?
In the lock screen interface, you can quickly switch by fingerprint or password. After restarting the phone, you must first enter the main space through password verification, and then switch the space from the lock screen interface.
6.How to transfer files between the main space and the private space?
1) In the Private Space, open Settings > Security & privacy > PrivateSpace
2) Choose “MainSpace to PrivateSpace” or “PrivateSpace to MainSpace”
3) Choose the file you need to transfer.
Note: Memory cards cannot be used in the privacy space, so only files stored on the phone can be transferred from the privacy space to the main space. In addition, transferring files stored in the cloud between the main space and the private space is not supported.
Finally, how to hide the privacy space entry? Following the below steps:
In the PrivateSpace, open the Settings > Security & privacy > PrivateSpace, then choose Hide PrivateSpace.
Did you get it? If you have some private information on your phone that you don't want others to see, creating a private space is a good idea.

Good post!

How do you enable Developer Options within PrivateSpace? Tapping 7 times only works in MainSpace.

How do you hide text that come through in the private space?

Where can I find my private space after it is hidden

I created my private space without fingerprint login. Now I want to add fingerprint for easy access/login to prove space but there is no option for adding fingerprint. Is there such a solution?

An internet connection is required for syncing to Google Tasks. You can run it offline for periods, but it's main purpose is to be connected to Google Tasks at it's heart, so it uses your Google account and requires internet connection to retrieve your tasks when you first open the app, after that you can open the app without internet and modify things and sync later.

Sometimes, you download an application because you find it interesting and then finally, it don't need or like it or more (it arrives very often), or you have just changed of rom, of version of Android. I've got a lot of apps, between my changes of terminal, the articles of test for a French blog etc...It's really easy and fast to download some free apps.
In brief, for the most ancient, you must have an important download history :silly:
For awhile now there’s been a way to delete the free crapware from your download history, but not many users are aware of the feature. For your benefit we’ve provided a handy step-by-step guide to getting rid of the apps from your download history that you’re confident you won’t be revisiting in the future.
On first you need the last update of Google Play Store apk, which is 3.10.9, Especially don't say “why I do not have do it earlier ????”. For the simple one and good reason which this functionality is very recent.
=> Open the Play Store App on your device.
=> You’re going to be presented with a list of all your currently installed apps, and below that you may see a list of apps ready for update.
=> Tap the options button in the top-right corner of the screen and select ‘My Apps’ from the drop down menu.
=> Swipe from right-to-left to bring up the ‘All’ screen.
=> From here you can delete the history of any free app you have downloaded. Simply tap the circle with a line through it above the word “Free” in the app list.
=> If you want to select multiple history entries just hold down on the app until you feel the short vibration. Then go through the list and select the other free apps you want to remove.
=> Tap the circle with a line through it in the top right corner if you have multiple items selected and you will be prompted to select ‘OK’ or ‘Cancel’ to confirm your removal.
You’re done! The app list should now refresh, and it should be missing whatever you selected for removal.
Maybe it will be long for some download history. Mine was new and fresh after 2 hrs :victory:
And don't forget to rate for this thread -

Question Is the app menu option "Optimize battery usage" gone?

How can we access the options menu where you decide whether each app is optimized battery usage?
Since the recent update to Android 12 Oneui 4, I cannot find it in any of the options menu settings! Seems like it was removed.
I was able to see it only after an app requested it because it be turned off for itself. But how do I find the menu by myself, like when just going through the list of apps?
Looks like this:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Not sure but yeah it appears it's gone. Now it looks like you gotta go to settings > apps and select the app of which you want to modify the battery optimization setting.
There is also the "background usage limits" in battery settings. You can add "sleeping apps" or "never sleeping apps" there. No idea if it's the same thing as the list from A11. But it probably is.
But the optimize menu still exists and works, so how can I invoke it myself?
Apps can invoke it, and my phone even shows the menu as a separate app than the settings menu. I can use the recent button to bring it back, but need to still be in memory from another app invoking it.
How can I invoke it or create an icon shortcut to it?
Settings -> Apps -> pick an app -> Battery -> then pick from the three options
Install QuickShortcutMaker, add widget to Home screen, click on it and define it as a shortcut to com.android.settings.Settings$HighPowerApplicationsActivity
And shame on Samsung for hiding it, deliberately or now, it's a jerk move.
Opening each app manually to set its battery optimization settings is a non-starter.

wow, well done, sir. It's F'd that I gotta be a semi-power-user to be able to create a shortcut to bring up this hidden menu. I don't think there's any way to navigate to this menu for "normal people", is there? Goddamn, Samsung, why? Assholes.
The crossover between Samsungs "never deep sleeping app" menu and the "restrictions" per app, confuses me.
When setting an app to unrestricted, it becomes invisible to select as to never sleep.
Do these conflict? As its the case that something is set as optimised in one menu but never sleep in another, which is actually the case?
Plus I'm getting delayed notifications, so I'm just confused.

How To Guide How to _ Notifications_ Aka Don't kill my app!

System restrictions on Vivo phones have not been fully uncovered yet. If you have any additional information, please let us know.
The apps loading from the background need a special permission for Autostart.
AutostartBased on the information by Vivo, this option should be present on all Vivo phones.
Newer OS version: Settings > More settings > Applications > Autostart to turn on/off the app switch.
For Funtouch OS 2.6 and lower version: i Manager > App manager > Autostart manager to turn on/off the app switch.
Lock the app in taskbarApps locked in the taskbar are safe from getting terminated when they run on the background.
Swipe up in your home screen while the app is open in background, and swipe the app icon down.
Tap the lock icon.
Done - now the app is locked in the taskbar.

General Official ColorOS 13 known bugs

So I got official version F15 of ColorOS 13.
Until now I found 2 bugs:
1. Floating windows scale/size
- replication steps:
a) set display size in settings to Small. b) as a result floating window of calculator is wrongly resized/scaled (missing bottom row of buttons).
- workaround: set display size to Standard

"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",

"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
2. Unable to pay with NFC using Google Pay
- replication steps:
a) clone WhatsApp or Line App (e.g. for work purposes)
b) setup backup options for your chat history using Google account. You will be prompted to add a new Google account (hidden, available only for cloned apps, it wont be available in your accounts list in settings). You cannot use google account that is already setup as your main account on your phone.
c) as a result Google Wallet clone (for this new google account) will be created. This google wallet has a higher priority than your main one.
d) whenever you try to pay with your NFC just by putting your phone over card terminal youll get on terminal an error and on your phone you will notice that there are no cards added (empty wallet for this new google account)
e) when you go to NFC setting you will notice double Google Pay option. Changing radio button selection does not solve the problem
f) your main google wallet tells you that it is set as default but this the second (cloned) google wallet has somehow a higher priority
- workaround: whenever you want to pay just open Google Wallet app (the main one) and put your phone over the card terminal
With the F.77 version Google Pay issue is fixed.
