I have to say that this fingerprint reader sucks. I can barely get it working and may end up returning the phone over this. They should have left it the way it was because it is really bad.
Which S10 is that and do you have that factory screen protector film on?
It's also been suggested that you don't need to press too firmly on the display. Making sure you touch the right area, as well.
I have the S10+ and I have tried everything. It keeps telling me to press harder but it only works about 20% of the time. It's awful.

I've seen a review where the guy gets it 10 out of 10 times. I wonder if it depends on your finger/print shape,
I would like to know what is different. I have also registered my fingerprints multiple times as well.

Search The phone for an update! I've read/saw many ppl mention that a software update from Samsung fixed those issues.
Got my s10+ and using the Samsung screen protector and I have no issues whatsoever.
So I've been messing around and registered my thumb 3 times and it seems to be working a little better now. I will continue testing with it.
Did you update? The is a fingerprint improvement in the update.
Having the same issues with the fingerprint sensor. Checked for an update almost as soon as I opened the box, but it indicates it's up-to-date so now I'm clueless. I'm continuing to play with it, but if I can't get some improvement it's going back.

Hmmm... Thanks for the info. I do have the unlocked. That makes more sense because there's always an update for a new phone & there's no way Samsung would release this because the reader is atrocious!

Pressing on a certain spot of the screen (about 1/3 of the way from the top) makes an audible click and I can kind of feel it under my thumb too. I've had the phone for less than a week and it seems to work fine otherwise. I'll bring it into the Sony store on Monday to see what they say.
What could it be? Does this happen to anyone else? Do you think it's worth getting fixed?

How did you find out about this problem? Did you read about it somewhere and decided to try pressing your screen as well?
I'm pretty sure you'd never have found out about it during normal usage. Or did you randomly think to yourself "hey, I should really press my new phone's screen unusually hard and see if it make any noises" ?

I posted a thread about it a couple of days ago but should have mentionned it here as well that my phone wouldn't turn on after sleeping with it. I was checking for damage and I noticed this and assumed it was related. Though looking back, I'm pretty sure it was an unrelated software malfunction (kernel panic?), mainly because the battery kept draining during that time. It was at 60% when it was seemingly bricked (wouldn't even react to being plugged into multiple chargers and computers). then 24 hours later it magically let itself get charged, but for some reason was completely discharged at 0%. Everything worked normally from then on.

I stumbled upon this post posted a month ago http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=55745968&postcount=71
I'm a little worried about screen rigidity. After reading the other post about pressing the screen and seeing a rainbow and then seeing a YouTube video about a popping sound when you press on the screen. Hope Sony didn't go cheap here. Everything else I like about the phone. I have yet to take delivery of mine

I think it is, it definitely shouldn't be doing that. But I've decided to leave it be. I've ordered some tempered glass screen protectors - should stiffen up the screen a bit among other benefits.
Thanks

Anyways thanks for your answer. This problem, do you know if it happens to all device or just some? I have already tried putting it in water and it worked out just fine. Thanks again.
Seems like they all do this sound
I purchased my Z3 yesterday and I also noticed this weird sound while I was putting the case on. So today I went back to the store to see if it was just mine.
I tested 4 different Z3 with the dude a the sony store and they all seem to be doing the same sound at the same spot. However i still got mine replaced for one that seemed a little better than the others.
So yeah it looks like it's normal...
Guess what? I found the same issue somehow couple of weeks back and thought it was weird. I wasnt trying to test anything specifically and just clicking on phone for something at that time and heard the noise. So I did some more checks and saw it happening on the top half of the screen only.
Mind does the same thing. I bought it yesterday and noticed it this morning...hopefully it isn't something that I need to return it for.

They all do it, z3 and z3 compact. I tested 4 different z3 and 2 z3 compact at the sony store when I went to get an exchange for mine.
I took one which seemed a little less worst, but still do it.
I'm probably gonna buy a tempered glass, it might help lessen the default.

Hey everyone. I just got the Blu r1 HD on the mail and I love this phone. Everything I've thrown at it works flawlessly and I've had no trouble except for this one problem.
There are periods of time where the touch screen will drop input for a half a second to 3 seconds at a time. Usually it works fine but sometimes I'll try to type and I keep missing on the keyboard because the touch screen drops inputs. It's not just the keyboard it's anywhere else too
Most of the timeit works well but when this starts happening it's aggravating to use. Anyone know what causes it?
I'm gonna have to return the phone regardless but I really would like to know if there's a possible fix or if this problem is inherent to all models. I really hope not because I really like this phone.
Thanks all so much

I have noticed this too. Kernel source was just released. I'm going to go ahead and blow wind but I feel there is a multi-touch delay. Kernel source being released should fix this.
I just feel how this thing sips power that it was tuned that way. Annoying? Yes. Correctable? More than likely. I'd say hold your ponies before you send that back and buy one thats been fixed to not be bootloader unlocked.
Cheers!

Thanks for your response. Do you get consistently sluggish or is it responsive with random bouts of dropped inputs? Because it's the latter for me.
I almost think it's something do with the digitizer controller or firmware but I'm not sure.
I also occasionally notice ghost swipes when this happens.
Feels like the oneplus one all over again hopefully the kernel source being available helps us find a solution. I'll take a look myself but wouldn't know the first place to start to debug the touch screen
Thank you!

Been enjoying the phone. If you have any questions, ask away.
I'm really enjoying this phone. An the reviewers seem to jump on the same bandwagon and say this phone is not worth it.
They're completely wrong in my case. Having the second screen to multitask once and awhile, but mostly to stretch the display to a tablet size is so nice.

How is the fingerprint reader? I was too nervous to get it due to the tiny looking fingerprint reader, but I so wish I got this instead of sticking with Verizon and getting an S8+.... full of buyer's regret now lol. Also, is there anywhere to get it besides AT&T?

This is actually my first phone with a fingerprint reader. I think it works great. You can't just rest your finger on it to unlock, you have to push on the power button, but when you push down it also reads it immediately and unlocks.
If you're not an AT&T customer you can unlock any of their phones for free through their site.
I bought mine used off eBay.

Yeah, I'm switching to AT&T officially... eBay had them for approx $1,000. Mine arrives Monday (cuz it's not in store near me) I'm not too surprised as most professional reviews spent their reviews complaining about the specs...

I think the reviewers are crazy. I have seen a few that concentrated on the use of the phone and liked it. I love it! I can't believe there isn't more hype about it. And the TV function is really nice. Love the phone!!! (switched to att and more expensive plan to get it)
Does it have HDMI out?
Mine keeps rejecting my fingerprint with a message saying "partial fingerprint not recognized. Please try again." Anybody know how to fix this?
I am using my phone not for gaming, just web searching Brightness set to auto, not currently charging and Its 82f here in Chicago while I am in my car and the phone is reading 43C. Is that normal I can feel the screen and back of phone warm.
I've been watching ESPN and YouTube videos for about an hour or so and I can't feel it warmed up at all. Ex kernel manager shows CPU at 34°C. I was outside and it's 78° here right now.

Battery usage. I stopped using YouTube about an hour ago.
Look how much current it's drawing with screen just on.
This phone stinks
I took the train today so I didn't use maps. I'll be driving tomorrow so I'll get a chance to see what using maps will do to my temps. This thing is liquid cooled so this shouldn't be getting hot like that unless they have the warning threshold set to low.
I have a screen issue that's not aligned correctly and now this thing is getting hot. It's going back. I don't know wether to buy a new one or go through RMA hell. Had to do that with my 6T and OnePlus is giving a bad taste in my mouth.
This is abnormal, meaning this isn't the case with every device. I haven't had a single heating issue - it could also be cause by a 3rd party app. You'll have to do a root cause through process of elimination to determine if it's the actual device.

Could be one of your apps causing it. If you're rooted you could run top in a terminal and see what's going on. Did you recently transfer a ton of media to it, possibly it could be the media scanner. But I would definitely figure out what's going on because those temps aren't normal and will affect your battery health long term.
I haven't had mine get hot yet.

Have you flashed the phone since you got it?
Seems odd that, that many things would fail all at once without the phone completely going kaput.
Though, if I had to guess, I'd say one of the layers of the phone became disconnected if it's not software related.

The phone new I get this problem after 2 months I don't do anything to it when I get update I update it the problem start from rgb and fan then the logo then the fingerprint I don't know why
Loose connections internally could be the issue, though there'd need to be a couple of them in order for that many things to fail.
Either way, sounds like an RMA would be the only way to fix it, and it shouldn't matter where you purchased it.
