I have unlocked my bootloader.And i am on jan security patch.And i have installed magisk through booting into patched boot.img for instaling gcam. Now if i want to root it again as it is not now, bcz i want to instal other apps that require root. What shud i do plz guide me .
Just flash the patched_boot.img via fastboot

I'm using miui10 (beta) developper Rom (miui_HM4AGlobal_8.10.25_d36c3e7df5_7.1.zip) and it is true that a big update (mean when it's the entire ROM) replaces twrp and crashes root.
You just have to install again twrp with fastboot method in order to flash SuperSu (the one i use) in order to retrieve root.

Hi, when used to use MIUI i installed pitchblack recovery and after the miui update it didn´t dissapeared so there is no need to always flash the recovery but the magisk fil you have to install again because the update flashs the stock boot img.
I successfully unlocked the bootloader and rooted my Mi A2 using the patched boot img method (flashing the patched boot image with Magisk to root). But now I want to install a custom ROM and for that, I need to install TWRP. I tried to find a lot in forums but couldn't find any help with Android Pie as TWRP doesn't decrypt storage in Pie. So can somebody help this newbie with flashing TWRP in my rooted Mi A2 with Android Pie.

So what I think I have to do is to go to fastboot mode and boot recovery.img, after that, I need to wipe everything (will lose my root and stock ROM) and then it will act like how it would from the guide by flashing the custom ROM, and then changing slots and stuff.
Hi, I have a question please.
I stay time for unlock my Pixel 4a 5G unlock bootloader and Root it with patch boot.
I know the procedure but if I have the good patch boot of juanary firmware and reboot to fastboot unlock it and connect to PC copy the patch boot flash it too and custom kernel when finish flash restart restore Google backup and install magisk manager.
It's possible ?
Or I do restart the phone after unlock bootloader install magisk manager and copy patch boot and flash it ?
