About LineageOS
LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 9.0 (pie), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
About NLOS
NLOS is an unofficial LineageOS build with many additional features, originally created by @nvertigo67. I have built it for the Essential Phone, so keep any questions or concerns to me, and don't direct them at him, as he's got nothing to do with this port and probably doesn't want to be bothered with problems he can't solve.
Extra Features
Signature spoofing
Custom kernel based on @return.of.octobot's awesome neutrino kernel
Wireguard support
KCAL
Additional CPU governors and I/O Schedulers
Signature spoofing for microG
One handed mode
March security patch
Pixel boot animation
Pixel GApps included
Other stuff I'm forgetting
Issues
I'm not sure yet. Let me know.
Instructions
Flash like any other ROM. Boot temporary TWRP, wipe data, cache, dalvik, flash the ROM, flash the TWRP installer
(optional) reboot to recovery, flash Magisk, nanodroid, addonsu

Heh, unless there's something wrong with my app, you have five more copies of this thread open.
I'll probably give this a ROM a try once T-Mobile activates my SIM.

Yeah, you can blame XDA giving an error 500 every time I tried to submit it for that. I told the mods and I'm hoping they'll sort it out

Nice! Thank you.

Sounds nice - thanks for keeping development for the PH-1 alive!
I'll likely install this once we get confirmation that it doesn't have any glaring issues.

He's probably talking about the issue I had: no touch in the main rom. TWRP in my case worked flawlessly, but upon rebooting into the rom to set it up, well, it was unusable as touch support wasn't functional.
I'll probably throw this on my phone again temporarily later to try and get logs. My gut says it's something to do with HALs.

I can't say about the other guy's case, but I came from a completely stock 9.0 March update. so firmware was up to date. Unless this was intended for older firmware (which that would explain things)

I'll add what I feel is necessary. That many congestion algorithms just sounds bloated and unnecessary.

Logs would be incredibly appreciated, if possible. Unfortunately, Lineage no longer ships userdebug builds with ADB enabled by default for some odd reason. I made the changes to fix that, but they won't be in effect until next build. So if you have another method of input, like a usb mouse, that's the only way I know of for now.

Yeah, adb off by default negates any ability to get logs when the touchscreen is non-functional. Was an idea, though!

Lol no. I'm not adding a scheduler that's almost certainly tuned for HDDs over flash like what we have. Do some research next time.

I did not do anything at all! I flashed the Marshmallow stock rom months before and yesterday the phone just freezed while i was playing a game. The it restarted itself and got the bootloop... Neither the recovery or the Qualcomm service menu can boot. I tried the QFIL unbrick method by flashing all the stock roms i could find but nothing changed.

Yeah, I am able to get the logcat and dmesg. Pretty likely it's the kernel or dt causing issues.

If you are referring to Xiaobai's CM builds, they aren't for the x3_row.
There are a number of reasons why it wouldn't work well.
One thing I haven't really tried (primarily because there is no reason it would help; my device tree is written from scratch for the x3_row), is flashing the Chinese stock before flashing my builds.
I have uploaded a newer build(not booting yet). So, if anyone can test out flashing over Chinese stock and report, it will be great.
EDIT: Tried swapping the boot image with Xiaobai's builds, device booted fine, most of the things were broken though (not so surprising). Things were very much the same as they were when I had built using Xiaobai's tree the very first time. Yet to test flashing over Chinese stock firmware.

@arpit_nnd, you tried using the stock kernel? That should at least bootup if I am correct, just made a assumption as xiaobai uses stock kernel as well.

Fixed glitchy power off animation Thanks @DarkFrenzy
Removed button backlight settings (They are unsupported)
Lowered the first boot time by enabling dexpreopt (The zip is a bit bigger but the old boot time was just unacceptable in my eyes)
Enabled some core system files to stay in ram so things should be a bit smoother.
Fixed adb not working unless you had selected mtp as the usb type
4/8/17
Initial release
I have redone the device trees from scratch based off of the galaxy s4 mini trees. @DarkFrenzy did the same thing awhile ago but he did not keep the history so it was useless to me. I also wanted to redo it because it lets me understand it better. My end goal is for it to become official but for that i have to fix the camera. But i have already upstreamed the kernel commits into the LineageOS msm8930-common kernel.
Thanks for still supporting our T217S. I'll give it shot and report.

Thanks for the Support for this device.
The camera is working fine in my RR build which I built with latest changes from Serrano tree which has some libc fix for camera.
For screen bug you have to set animate to true in device Samsung qcom repo like this https://github.com/FaArIsH/android_...mmit/51f24a5eed4203356c6669614f4dcbe979d74cc4
Yes its better to start from scratch then using my trees I m very lazy to use github that's y I don't use it the best way.
And also its best to give credits to @arco68 instead of me.

Update prima wlan firmware (This should fix 5ghz wifi let me know though i do not have one)

The ROM is very stable from my daily testing, with pretty much the only apparent bug being the issues with voice match that all LineageOS based roms are facing. Other than that I haven't noticed anything major.

With magisk (using with magisk hide) pay works perfectly. Same with Samsung pay as well
I've read before that AOSiP allows signature spoofing, https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/general/index-list-custom-roms-offering-t3557047/. Is that feature included in this ROM?

I don't use Google pay but the 360 camera works well. The only thing is any LineageOS based ROM can't update the 360 camera software, but it will function perfectly if updated on the stock rom.

I'm still in shock. Such a great ROM, gives me that same felling I got from flashing my first custom rom, and realizing my phone could be so much more than it had been. I haven't quite figured out substratum ,is there a trick? I'm on January firmware using Substratum beta, with the Magisk Substratum-mod.
Thanks again for delivering this unexpected awesomeness.

LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 8 (oreo), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit out Gerrit Code Review.

You have to had TWRP installed from this thread TWRP and ROOT for Tab 4 8/10 (Plus) (TB-8704X/F/V,TB-X704L/F, TB-8504X/F, TB-X304L/F)
In TWRP clean Data if you coming from stock ROM and do Install of this ROM. If you have android 8 stock rom installed you have to format Data with data loss, because used encryption is incompatible with android 7.1

This is technical build, just to test all of hardware works fine with open source kernel. Lenovo shared kernel source was incomplete and I had to make dts code from scratch. Please report if anything hardware related broken. Also I have on TB-8704X to test, reports about how it works on TB-8704F and TB-8704V are welcome.
This is great - thank you @highwaystar_ru for your work. I'll test it on my TB-8704X today. Are there plans on upgrading to LineageOS 15.1 or even 16?

Yes, I'm planning to integrate it with https://github.com/lenovo-devs and build Lineage 16.0 soon. There will be not many updates on 14.1, I will upload one updated build today, found that current is incompatible with linked twrp (I tested it only with my own twrp build).
Cheers dev. Seen other models getting LOS and felt a little disheartened, you've now changed that

No, the device is not certified. I am still using Netflix though.
This is awesome. Thanks so much! Only question is do I flash now or wait a few weeks for 15 or 16? ?
Awesome - Thanks. I was stuck on 7.1 anyway as the lenovo Oreo was really bad, I went back to 7.1. Now I'm in a better place, routed and no bloat. Thanks, looking forward to 16!

Everything else is working.
Thanks for supporting this tablet model.

Somehow it was my fault. I tried to get back to stock image with fastboot, and may be got something wrong with gsm module. I got back to stock image with MSMToll ( sadly works on windows only) and flashed again with the image from 20211203 - and mobile worked like a charm, then I've updated the LineageOS to the lastest image from 20211209, with encryption and SELinux enabled.
It works great!
Thank you!
