So I was a heavy Dex user on my Note 8 and continue to use it alot on my S10+. Glad to say that many of the issues I was having previously seem to have been addressed (that stupid Shift+Space shortcut especially). But I am having one NEW issue that is a big annoyance.
For some reason, when typing on my USB keyboard in Dex, suddenly it will switch to the phone rather than the attached monitor. I've noticed when this happens that the Google app will open on my phone, and suddenly I am typing there instead of where I intended. It's almost as if I'm triggering an unknown shortcut.
Anybody have some insight or at least have seen this same problem? I'm using the official Samsung Dex Dock.

Hello all!
I have been a proud user of Galaxy Note user for a bit over a week now, and I am trying to test (in real app-world) if all the sensors are working correctly to be able to bring change it at the store if something doesn't work, since I'm eager to root my device and I probably won't be able to return it then.
Yesterday I installed the game AirPenguin, which uses accelerometer controls, and it seems all messed up. Basically what happens is that as soon as the game starts, the bird goes flying way left, even though I am holding the phone still. What I found out after experimenting a bit was that the game itself is locked to portrait mode, but the accelerometer works as if it was in landscape. Meaning I have to hold it in landscape, and when I then tilt it left, the bird flies left in game-screen, but left is down from my point of view.
I was wondering if anyone else has seen such problem in this game or any other app, and if it is just a game bug or if there could be a problem with the accelerometer.
The stock accelerometer calibration works without a problem - when I tilt the phone left, the ball goes right, and when I tilt it right, it goes left (I suppose that's how it's supposed to be).
Thank you all in advance!

I'm facing the same problem on my Galaxy Note, I wonder if that happens also on other android devices or it's a galaxy note issue only?
i dont have the app, but is auto-rotate (that thing in the notification bar) turned off or on? try changing that to see if it fixes it?

Nexus and HTC Flyer, too any solutions?
Same problem with my Galaxy Tab 7+ P6200. I have encountered so many games in the google playstore with this problem. Too bad, i hope the app developers fix this problem for our devices.
afair there was a free app for comprehensive hardware testing, it was called Z-Device test, if stones interested, and google does not hello, I may try to find the link or apk later

I recently purchased a Tab S2 9.7. It is on the 5.1.1 build LMY47X. T810XXU2BOJ1. The issue I am experiencing is that when I use the samsung keyboard in landscape mode, every time I press the letter h, it presses twice. So instead of typing the, it types thhe.
Has anyone else experienced this or something similar? Would it be possible that if I could reinstall the samsung keboard apk it may fix it? I have also tried using the keyboard in the split mode and it does not have the same issue. So I'm curious if it is a problem with that part of the touchscreen or the keyboard itself or something else. I installed swiftkey and it does not have the same issue. However it is also much larger on the screen so the h is not in the same place on the touchscreen,
I apologize if I'm not making much sense but hoping to resolve this without having to send off to Samsung repair center for who knows how long.
I have experimented with both RemixOS for PC and Remix Player on my Intel z8700 tablet over the last 9 months. I have seen noteworthy improvement in the development of both.
I am still unable to boot RemixOS for PC on my tablet (I think due to some issue with my UEFI boot loader), but RemixOS Player now starts up OK. That being said, it is pretty much unusable with input from the touchscreen on the tablet. The RemixOS Player tries to use the touchscreen input to emulate mouse/touchpad input. That doesn't work well at all.
If RemixOS Player is running on a Windows 8.x or Windows 10 system with a touchscreen (like a tablet), it should detected that and map the relevant portion of the touchscreen as it it was a touchscreen tablet running Android.
This is shocking to me. It's like touchscreen support was removed. Thought I had found a good emulator for my surface pro 3, now the search continues.
Yeah, completely insane. No fullscreenmode available either. It's work in progress. Should be declared pre-alpha.
I have posted the same some weeks ago here
I am using AmiDuOS so far. Works way better. Or maybe I should say 'it works'.
Remixos just don't. Hoping for a solid version of it though, later next year.

I think I got your fix!
Hopefully you guys are still subscribed, I came across this thread looking for help with my touchscreen because just like you I found it pretty much sucked to use. After reading above the statement regarding touchscreen working like a mouse I remembered one of the experimental features. I'm not sure about Player, but in settings of Remix OS, Enable trackpad is in the settings under Experimental features. The description is a little misleading "Enabling this setting allows you to use your trackpad as a mouse" well WTF else would you use it as lol. When I first booted I was docked and thought everything worked awesome as I used the keyboard with trackpad and only a tap on the screen here and there, so when I came across this setting I recalled a past experience with x86 (or was it my motorola Lapdock) and the trackpad working like a touchscreen digitizer and me guesstimating where on the trackpad I had to touch to hit the exact spot needed on screen. Anyway I did not want a repeat of that fond memory of fun and thought it best to leave enabled.
Long story short I revisited said setting, disabled it, and after a reboot the touchscreen now works like it's supposed to! Haven't found out if it stops working still after waking up from a deepsleep, but that's likely a seperate issue anyway. It's nice doing the helping for once, hope it works for you guys, let me know if it's the same for you Player users.
PS if you're setup like me make sure you also turn on the onscreen keyboard even when hardware keyboard is detected before you undock, evidently the touchscreen is recognized as a hardware keyboard input as well, at least on my Switch 11.
The track pad option does not appear to be present in Player, using version 3.0.307 at the moment. The only setting that even remotely relates is track pad / mouse speed slider under input.
Remix on Surface 3 ugh
Like an idiot i didnt consult xda before loading the dual boot. power and volume hard buttons dont function except for hard reset then it bypasses the boot menu and boots into remix.. i can get into safemode still but the lack of support or even the show of effort for touch support is a deal breaker on all fronts. i was really hoping to find an update...
Dell venue 11 pro, touchscreen doesn't work at all, even after disabling Trackpad option in experimental features, so confusing as this is a touch screen based OS lol and it's the only thing not working!! zzzzzz
When using Samsung Dex, my phone will constantly wakes up by itself whenever I use my external keyboard to type on web browser or etc. I'm using an USB dongle for my external keyboard and mouse. Does anyone face the same issue when you use a external keyboard? Does anyone knows how to solve the screening waking issue? Thank you
Information of the phone:
Model: SM-G998B/DS
One UI version: 3.1
Android : 11
Android security patch level: 1 May 2021
Just an update: I tried using the same setup on S20Ultra, it did not face such an issue.
Could someone assist to try out if they have such an issue when using Samsung Dex on S21Ultra? Thank you.
I don't use this feature but it seems to me that the issue is the display being active as the cpu/mobo are quit active when using Dex.
Work around is to manually dim down the display when using Dex which will cut power consumption.

Thanks for the suggestion, I tried to dim it down but it does not work. I actually have an S20Ultra as well and I tested the same setup and it did not have the issue as my S21Ultra does. It might be a software issue so I hope someone can assist to test it too.

You're welcome.
Try Samsung forums too. You're probably not alone. Lots of little glitches
Hi guys, I have serious problems with external keyboards on my Tab S8 Ultra. The typing sucks. It wont pick up when I type double letters. It's is awful. Sometimes in almost every sentence on a page! It does this with Bluetooth keyboards. I wasn't too worried as I was waiting for the dock to arrive thinking it was a third party issue. But no, exactly the same with the official keyboard dock. It is unbearable! Anyone know of a fix for this apart from typing painfully slowly.
I also have a iPad M1 Pro and with keyboard dock and have no problems typing on that. But I am not an Apple guy so I don't want to have to switch back for work stuff. Any help?
I haven't noticed this issue yet. I think I've only used the keyboard cover. Tried rebooting? I wonder if there's some kind of wireless interference that's only affecting the tablet?

Yeah ive triex all that. Of coirse there may be something about the way i type, pretty fast, that is causing a problem. But i have never had this problem on other devices or keyboards.
This is a very common issue using bluetooth keyboards on a mobile device, which has yet to be resolved
I have the exact opposite problem: I get double letters, where I do not want them. But on the other hand, I never had issues getting double letters when I want them.
There was an update a while ago for the keyboard. I had some lag when typing, but after the update it's working fine for how I use it
I have an issue where sometimes it won't register an input, and other times it will act like it's holding down whateve key I happen to be pressing at the time. It literally did it while typing this comment, and added like 20 spacebar inputs. I'm using the OEM keyboard cover with the S8 Ultra.

I just half an hour ago reproduced this issue, or one close enough to it, although I'm not convinced it's even the keyboard or just Samsung's version of Android, or a bug in Chrome. I tried the same thing in Firefox and Brave (the last is also Chromium-based) with no issue, and was able to reproduce the issue in Chrome consistently. Eventually, but a long time after, Chrome would FC.

Mine is definitely Samsung related, whether hardware or software. It will replicate often in any app as long as I'm typing unfortunately
I use mine with a Apple Magic keyboard 2 and have not experienced this. My annoyance is that when opening a tab in Dex and start typing it defaults to the curser to the tablet and not my external monitor

Easy:
Go to settings -> accessibility -> interaction and dexterity -> disable "bounce keys"

Have you tried cleaning the pin conectors on both ends? This did it for me.

Not needed. As I suspected its a software issue. someone sorted it today for me on the Samsung Forum. It's an easy fix.
Go to settings, then interaction and dexterity and turn off 'bounce keys'.
Now it works perfectly!

Unfortunately neither of these will work for me. I've tried cleaning the pins and every other solution. I'm pretty disappointed in this $300 keyboard
