Hi
Does anyone know a good software for use with bluetooth headset?
I want it to be activated by headset voice dial button and ask questions via headset.
Fonix that comes with O2 XDA does nothing from above or may be i dont know something about it?
It asked questions 'What number would you like to dial' via speaker while my bluetooth headset was active. And it cannot be launched using headset button.
Hey, does anyone else use this device? If so, have you tried using the cheap headset that comes with it, and does the button on the headset do anything for you?
It's about time!
Rock on!!! They finally made a section for this device!! Unfortunately, I cannot help you with your question... sorry about that.
I don't use the headset that came with the device. I hate wired headsets. I use a BT headset on all my devices.
I used the headset and it does work for Answering calls not sure about ending calls. Just hold it for few seconds and it should answer the incoming calls.
Sorry if this has been asked before - I searched and could not find an answer.
I am thinking of buying the ZaggBuds which plug into the 3.5mm jack and have an integrated microphone to make and answer calls.
I am hoping that the Sprint Hero allows me to answer calls using the 3.5mm jack?
Thanks!
yes. In fact it even works for just speakers plugged into the jack. Just have to use the phones microphone in that case.

If I recall correctly, and IPhones headset lets us control volume and music threw it - I assume calls would be answered in the same manner.
I have a pair of $50 Scosche Headphones that have a built in mic and volume control but i can't get them to work properly with my phone. When i plug them in, its shows the headset with the mic, but when i use them within a call no one can hear me. I can hear them but thats it.
There isn't a setting within the phone is there? is it just that my heaphones aren't compatible?
I plug the 3.5mm into my car speakers and phone calls play over the system...just have to speak into the phone microphone. I would assume it would work the same with headphones.
It has to be a regular headset with a single plug for it to work. The iPhone earbuds work great for example, the mic on those is way better than the internal mic on the Hero.
As far as using a button on the headset to answer calls, I'd also like to know how to program that button. I'd like to be able to press it and have it pull up voice search.

The way it's programmed on the iPod Shuffle is to pause (in our case, also answer calls) and long-press for voice options. The middle button of course. I don't think the volume buttons on the iPhone headset work on the Hero.
To be honest it all depends on the headphones like I have the Epic 4g headphones and it doesnt work well. You might have to buy HTC headphones for compatibility.

I have the Epic 4g head phones and they work perfectly for me. I am able to answer calls as well as navigate my music with them. <3 those headphones.
If your headphones arent working Google this:
//code.google.com/p/toggleheadset/ download the widget and install
I got a noisehush headset and works great for voice and stereo. My old HTC headset I got with the tmo wing is on its dying day.

I have a pair of headphones with a button and mic in the head set. I press the button to start/stop music as well as answer/hangup calls
I have the Zagg buds and they work great with the hero. I can press the answer button the button on the volume adjuster that are on the buds and it works like a champ.
Great headphones!

I bought a pair of Sony head phones for the Iphone to use on my HTC Hero thinking that they would work because it had volume control and built in microphone but all their good for is listening to music...
I use Thermaltake eSports Isurus headphones. They're in-ear buds with a mic on the line. The use a single 3.5mm TRRS plug to connect to phones, and have a TRRS to TRS headphones + microphone splitter for plugging into a computer. They work great with my HTC Hero.
They have an on-mic button, but I haven't played with that to see if it'll auto-answer if I push it. I'm more the 'plug the headset in after i get a call' kinda guy.
yes
i am using a bluetooth stereo headset, and the stocked headphone with mic. when i get a call, i need to manually tap either speaker icon (in case of wired headphone) or bluetooth icon (in case of wireless) to get the voice in and out via headphones.
is this tapping necessary? cause when you don't have a free hand, it is quite inconvenience to do so. please advise.
I don't have to do that with my headphones. (I'm not using the stock ones though, so that may be it)

Have you tried just pushing the button on the headset, whether it'd be wired or wireless and see if it picks up the call? That's usually how it works unless you use auto answer when connected to headset

Hey everyone,
Just wondering if anyone knows if it is possible to 'switch' my Bluetooth devices when an incoming call comes using tasker?
I currently have an Android headunit in my car but the quality is terrible, the person on the other end complains about an echo every call. I still use the headunit to stream audio though. I've given up on fixing the headunit, so I've decided to buy a hands free kit for making and receiving calls.
So I want to be able to set something up in tasker on my phone along the lines of "if incoming call, then connect to X Bluetooth device (hands-free)". Then after the call the Bluetooth will switch back to the headunit when the hands-free device is powered down.
Does this seem plausible? If not I will just have to do all Bluetooth through the hands-free kit.

Could do, but the lag might be problematic.
What I do is long press the device in the Bluetooth list and deselect media sharing for the headset. Then deselect phone & contact sharing for the head unit.
This works to route calls to my headset in the car.

Thanks for the suggestion, I have done similar with a Bluetooth speaker at home that I didn't want to do calls on. Would my phone (Nexus 6p) allow/need to be connected to the headunit and handsfrer at the same time for your suggestion to work though?

Yes, you can connect to both. I do it all the time. If you wait for a call to come in to connect to a device, you're likely to miss the call. Tasker would have to recognize a call coming in, then connect to the hands free unit then you answer the call. Lots of steps ☺
