Unable to flash TWRP on Indian Honor 5C NEM-L22C675B330 on Android N

Hi,
I am trying to install twrp recovery on my Honor 5C using fastboot method. The Bootloader was successfully unlocked a couple of weeks back. Today got the twrp from the official site. The twrp flashing process is successful every time without any errors but when I reboot to recovery I am getting the stock recovery and not twrp.
Tried all three versions available on the official twrp website:
twrp-3.0.2-0-nemo.img
twrp-3.1.0-0-nemo.img
twrp-3.1.1-0-nemo.img
Tried 3-4 times with the same result. Phone's running on Nougat.
Honor 5C (India)
Stock ROM: NEM-L22C675B330
Android Version: Nougat
Any suggestions or ideas would be helpful.

Hi, for nougat on honor 5c you need a special openkirin version of twrp. Also, are you sure that you're using the right keys in the right way? I had a lot of trouble because I got that wrong.

The openkirin recovery is in the file depot on the roms page.

I had no idea about the openkirin version until now. Thanks.
And yes, I am using the right key combinations to get to the recovery because I'm able to boot into Stock Recovery.
Your help is appreciated. Will go check out the openkirin twrp.

There's an e-recovery that looks similar and boots via a similar key combination but I'm sure you're right.

Wow! I flashed the openkirin twrp and it went successfully. I'm able to boot to twrp recovery now.
And yes, the e-recovery is where I was ending up previously when I tried to flash the normal twrp. It was simply not working. After installing the openkirin version the stock e-recovery is now replaced by twrp. Both use the same key combinations.

In fact the P9 lite materials works for 5C as they share the same hardware and architecture

Check there are 2 roms given in 5C repository thread. Try anyone of them.
I flashed arsenik rom and it was smooth.

I've seen the roms but I was wondering if there are any more for the p9 lite which aren't on honor 5c. Also do I need to change anything to be able to use them?

No change. Just flash it. Have flashed arsenik rom and worked perfectly fine.
Don't forget to have backup backup

Hmm neat. Won't my phone then identify itself as a p9 lite?

Nope it won't. Nothing will change apart from new rom but you wont get updater in setting as you will get manual update from rom version

Confirmed working on clt-l29 c432 European version dual SIM but no Google apps... If installed opengapps 8.1 Pico... not booting...
Any piece of advice?

May seem like a stupid question.. but did you make sure to flash arm64 8.1? And have you tried any other opengapps packages?

If I try to flash other gapps appears error... In this case flash ok but does not boot... Seems like detects that there is a system modification an does not boot

Note that the cn version has LOT of cn bloatware, however, has some unique settings and features too.
Ex. AR in camera (Screenshots)

How did you managed that?
Flashed via provisioned bat file?
Or via fastboot commands?
Or via twrp?
And did you rebdrand your phone or it was cn firmware (ALOO) before too?
Sorry about so much questions, but i'm very tempted to flash that over my CLT-L29C432B128.

Just ran the .bat file, booted into twrp and flashed mind the Gapps, Magisk and here I am, I was on CLT-L29 128a C432.
Not tested fully as working now, but looks good so far
Ps had to install the Google play store APK from APK mirror :good:

Can it be unbloated and then repackaged??

One final question:
- Have you rebranded oeminfo or it wasn't necessary as you ran the provided bat command?
ps. you are talking about the file provided in 1st post, or the version B112?

Couldn't find the B112 to download, but will check if they have implemented OTA for that hmmm, yeah I like to be the brave one :laugh: just flashed the .bat my friend :good:
Make sure extracted files are in same folder :laugh:

Not for now.
I've changed my huawei id from china to uk (to benefit the 3 months display guarantee for p20pro), and for now. i cannot sign in on forum to see download links.
I have tried creating cn huawei id again, but I can't because of phone number verification via sms, which i didn't have (obviously) from china.

I have a fully working CLT L29 C432 P20 Pro running 8.1.0.131. (European Version)
I I flash this rom, will I loose my existing TWRP? Means that if I have a bootloop I will be able to go back to my existing system?
Can somebody give me witch Gapps has to be flashed (arm64, 8.1 - full,mini, micro, nano, pico)...?
I am leaving on holidays and I don't want to mess my working phone, But usually I do love Kangvip rom!:highfive:

Install Global Dev on Global MI 8 - Help

Hi Gals & Guys,
I have tried to google, but did not find a solution. Maybe I am just missing something.
My MI8 ist the Global Version and I am ofered to download the Stable or the Developer ROM (https://en.miui.com/download-346.html)
But when I download the Dev ROM, it won't install, it says "Wrong Version".
I am on stable 10.0.3.0 at the moment and I am trying to do it the Updater way, just as suggested by the instruction on the rom page.
What am I doing wrong?

Thanks! Now I know why it did not work. I had that download but then canceled the update after decrypting, that rendered the file useless. I just had to download it again and put it on the phone again....

I will believe a developer community emerge when they release the kernel source for the Realme X2 Pro*since it is the flagship. I have little faith though

Actually, realme has sent some devices to developer in the past. So I guess they are pretty open with custom development and that's a good sign already. I hope there would be a lot of custom ROM for the device since it is a great device but color OS might be not everyone's cup of tea

according to nathan30's reply on the "Little feedback" thread "project treble is available but the partition layout is only A and not A/B " so we might be able to flash GSI (Generic System Image) to get clean Android experience really soon

The GSI is available, but we will need to unlock bootloader (and flash costume recovery) in order to be able to flash the GSI

That's the exact reason I wrote it in parenthesis, I wasn't sure about it.. but I do think that opening the bootloader is a must, correct me if I'm wrong. Have you ever managed to flash (unofficial) ROM via ADB while the bootloader is locked? Is GSI different from any other costume ROM?

Let's say we flashed a gsi, then how can we get back to stock rom?

ah, yes needed unlocked bootloader. before this I tried on Honor View 10 cant on locked bl.

I want to make a European version out of my Chinese version as well, but the link you are mentioning will simply re-flash the Chinese ROM onto the Chinese phone. It's useful when the phone doesn't boot anymore or if you have other issues with the phone.
AFAIK, Realme has not made the European ROM available for download yet. Once/if they do, then you can use the above tutorial and simply use the European ROM source.

Because you can't flash zip roms (ozip in our example) with Mi Flash.
And Oppo does not have any EDL rom in regular format anymore, .ops or .ofp format.
So you can't do anything unless you have fastboot rom and and a working fastboot with unlocked bootloader.

you can try contacting Sprint and tell them that you bought the device used and ask for a SIM unlock

Thank you for letting me know. My phone update is broken and I managed to restore it with the msm tool. I then updated to 10.0.2 and rerooted my phone. I unlocked the bootloader and flashed magisk with kira kernel and xxx no limits. My phone update is broken again sadly and I'm not sure why. I'm sure it's one of those things I did above. If you have any thoughts, please let me know.

Root and custom kernel both broke up dates

any chance on the 10.0.2.GM25CC update? The guy who did an edit of your 10.0.1 with the update killed my wifi functionality so I'm back on your 10.0.1 for the time being. But thanks for the file!

When I get a chance I'll be doing my own 10.0.2. I'm a single dad of 2 kids, in college and have about 20 android/tech projects I'm apart of. It might be a little bit before I get to it. I don't really see a huge point in updating anyway as it's just April security patch
