Maybe with root, but there's no option in the stock ROM to do that.

You have to be rooted for that.

can't it be done with ADB tools?

There seems to be a few apps in the Google Play Store that can change the charging sound:
https://play.google.com/store/search?q=charging+sound+changer&c=apps
Whether they need root or not isn't clear (doesn't seem to need it).
I'd guess to keep these apps working (if they do indeed work),you'd likely need to turn off battery optimization & possibly lock in recents to keep it working.

Nope. Changing any system sound require changing r/w permissions in the system files and that can't be done without root.

I think it's possible without root. Think it in a different way.
We don't need to change the system sound in-place. But we can turn off the default charge sound and then play a custom sound whenever power source is connected.
The mentioned apps might also do that but there's a simple solution with Tasker.
Profile: Charging Sound (11)
State: Power [ Source:AC ]
Enter: Charing Sound (12)
A1: Play Ringtone [ Type:Alarm Sound: Stream:5 ]
The profile is triggered when AC power source is connected (you can replace this by Any) and plays a custom Ringtone (path needs to be mentioned). Make sure to change stream from Media to Alarm/Ringtone so that the sound is not tied to Media volume. Also, turn off default sound in system settings so that only this one plays.

[Q] Wireless Charging Sound - how to stop it!!

So just got a QI charger from ebay for my note 3. Whenever I place it on the charger, the "Over the Horizon" ringtone starts playing (I narrowed it down, more details below). When I remove it from the charger, the song keeps playing. When someone calls me, the ringtone keeps playing (so I can hear both the music and the voice). When I shut the phone down, the ringtone plays until the phone actually shuts down.
What I've done:
Since I narrowed it down by listening to all the .ogg files in the /system/media/audio folder, i figured I would just take the ringtone and replace it with a silent one. That doesn't work ...
I'm planning on just using Silent Time to shut the stupid sound from when I go to sleep, but I don't have a fixed sleeping schedule either which sucks ...
Is there any other way to deal with this?
UPDATE 1: Found that there was an .mp3 of that song on the internal SD... deleted it, but no change ...
UPDATE 2: Realized that even if I use Silent Time, it makes no difference because the moment Silent Time stops, the music is going to begin playing again...
UPDATE 3: in the /system/media folder there seems to be a bunch if .qmg files that are titled "battery_wireless_charging_X.qmg"
with X = multiples of 5, all the way up 100... any thoughts on that?

If rooted you can use wanam module from xsposed to turn off the sounds.. Might be able to with gravity box as well but pretty sure wanam will fix this for you

Headphone jack output

I bought this phone coming from an HTC Rezound. First thing I noticed, when using the aux headphone output to any device, car stereo, home theater, mini radio etc. The volume seems way quieter and I have to turn the volume of my stereo way high to compensate. Is this something anyone else has noticed? Perhaps the output voltage is cut back for battery life?

did u see a "volume limiter" message pop up when u try increasing volume while plugged in?
another thing that affects the sound is default settings for EQ (Wired stereo tab),
make sure it's at Effects: Custom, Surround: Off, Eq: Off (or whatever u like).
Compared to my older phones, its volume output is normal.

Yeah, I'm rooted so I've turned off that notice, volume all the way up. I keep my eq off altogether. Maybe the volume is normal, maybe there was something to the beats audio in the Rezound after all.

If you're rooted and have system write protection off, you can edit the file /system/etc/snd_soc_msm/snd_soc_msm_2x to suit your needs. There's various options for different speakers and line output volumes/levels.

I have rooted my phone with mofo and I'm wondering if this fix can help fix the low output on my headphone jack as well. Do you just edit this file with a text editor only or do you have to push it back onto the phone with adb or whatever?

xperia sp no speaker-earphone-mic working

hey guys, I've got a problem with my xperia sp
I was on vanir 5.1.1 aosp when my phone went to bootloop so I restored back to stock 4.1 firmware(.254)
but I realized that my speaker does not work with musics but it does sound in some places like setting
and also my primary mic and earphone does not work during call
I typed *#*#7378423#*#* in dialer and tried testing speaker-earphone-mic and there was no response
So I installed the app soundabout like it was said in another topic and it shows that bluetooth(MONO) is being used for calls and I dont know what that means!
I tried changing setting through app and now i get sound from speaker and mic is working but whatever i do earphone wont work, and there is another issue, the phone wont recognize my handsfree anymore(stock one and other ones) is continues playing through speaker even when i plug in my handsfree!!
and after changing soundabout settings the sensor which turns sceen off when its close to ear is always on and when my finger is close to it, screen goes off!!!
help me out guys I dont know what happened!!!!

Recently I had a similar issue. My SP always thought headphones are plugged in but actually they are not.
Reflash stock wiping everything.
About that SoundAbout app you better learn how to use it before you modify any setting. For now only check the notification bar whether headphone or loudspeker is used for media output.
Set phone call audio to "Let App Decide"

thanks but I actually did wiped everything with flashtool and flashed the rom, and I did flashed several roms
----
edit: btw, I did that graphite thing but still no luck, how much is needed? what should actually be done?
is it a hardware thing or software?? cause it happened exactly after downgrading from 5.1 to 4.1 stock, I also relocked bootloader and restored TA but no luck.

Dont try graphite method right now. First we need to confirm its a hardware or software issue.
Uninstall and install SoundAbout app and dont make any changes. Then u hit SoundAbout Service and choose ON-With Status and then tell me what u see in the notification panel(in use for media).
P.S. Use thanks button instead of saying thanks.

well I flashed the rom all over again and installed soundabout, there isnt a ON-with status option instead there is on-forground so i chose that the moment the notification came, touch sounds started to work(and walkman plays now through speaker) but handsfree is not detected - mic and earphone still not working
in status it says: Bluetooth (mono) in use for phone call
I actually did the graphite thing! but no luck and also i think it's not even a method cause graphite can even cause damage!

Now i got your problem. It has nothing to do with graphite thing. Graphite method is used for stuck in headset mode.
Some sort of bluetooth device is connected with your phone and ur phone is transferring the mic and earphone control over to that bluetooth device. U turn off bluetooth and check if mic and earphone work. Also check soundabout status and if possible upload the screenshot of notification panel showing the current media status.

Okay...... Okay ur device reporting false positive that Bluetooth device is connected but in reality its not. For now the temporary solution would be set phone call audio to let app decide or earpiece. Note that this could be temporary solution tomorrow i would research in more detail and sort this out once and for all

and when i put phone call to earpiece mic starts working but after this step the Proximity sensor becomes always active and it turns screen off the second my hand comes close to it, and earphone still wont function
anyway, you dont know how much you would make me happy if u figure this out!

My version is the latest one v2.6.4. I recommend u to update it.
But anyways u try this.
1.Bluetooth behavious->tick (Mono) microphone override
Probably ur mic will start working.
2.Phone call audio->Earpiece
This would be an universal override to force audio from earpiece.
If possible update ur app coz the setting i said may or may not be available.

Wired headset (with mic) in use for media. I got u now.
I strongly recommend u to do that graphite thing.

Actually it should work. Dont give up.
The actual description of the problem is phone is stuck in headset mode.
Here is how to get graphite from pencil.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8AFYtNMweyM
Put the graphite powder in the headphone jack and plug in & out headphones 10x times. Try to put more graphite powder and repeat until your notification panel shows "Phone speaker in use for media" (check attachment).
At last if it didnt work then the only solution left will be replacing the headphone socket.
Good Luck!
Just a little Addition, replacing the headphone socket would be cheap and easy. I had opened my phone yesterday to clean it and this socket was easy to take out.
By the way: There can be a LOT of dust under the protector of your front speaker. Cleaning this has improved the sound while calling quite much!

Boost Output Volume on 6.0

If youre like me and you like listening to your music with good headphones and want to feel that bass rumble in your head, you might have noticed that with the update to 6.0 (In my case to B565) the output volume might have gone down considerably and that now the max volume isnt just enough to make you eargasm. So i researched a lot and found out that the max volume settings are set in some .xml files located in /etc and /system/etc but the thing is that with huawei phones we dont just have to edit a single .xml file to raise our max volume, we have to edit a whole crap ton of them depending on our region, vendor, model etc.... So instead of having to open all those files and edit just the correct string, i found out that AlsaMixer (Available on google play) works just fine with out devices!! I also found out that the max output on 6.0 is stuck at 80% dont know why.
So, to get your 20% of max volume up, all you have to do is open AlsaMixer (or all those other .xml files if you like doing things the hard way ) and edit the lines:
-HISSC_SMT_HSL_GAIN (this is left headphone gain)
-HISSC_SMT_HSR_GAIN (this is right headphone gain)
Their default value will be 12, just go ahead and set that value to 15 which is the max value and enjoy your new volume
NOTE: There are tons of other strings you can edit to increase output of speaker, earpiece, etc...etc... but since I didnt need to increase these I didnt take the time to find out their variables, but if youre interested on increasing the speaker volume just open the .xml files and go to speaker and find the gain variable and change it with Alsa.
Hope I made your day

You might be able to do that with Tasker or a similar app. ALSA is only in charge of the sound.
tested and working good. only thing i noticed is that after i modify the value it wont save for the next time i use the player so i have to edit and apply again.
really thanks for sharing

So looking into AlsaMixer, this is an app for a rooted device. Is there any alternative methods? I just got my phone finally back up and going again after an IMEI loss and am a little scared to do anything further in the system like that.
Also the fact that the description on AlsaMixer doesn't say anything about supporting MM... Has the had any issues for you?

I dont think there are any other *effective* methods out there that dont imply rooting your device or something of that behaviour sorry. And yes it does support it, at least for me even though it says nothing.
Not a worry... I'll just have to build the courage up to rootmy device :/ ah well. Thanks for responding so soon

Exactly, you have to find the string for the speaker. (Be careful though because you could cause damage to the speaker)

You solved what? We already know about dolby atmos, but this is different.
Yes Dolby Atmos gets a little better sound quality than stock. But it doesnt boost output volume in any way or form. For that the only thing that works is editing the ALSA setting but for the speaker I dont know which string you have to edit because as i said im not interested in listening music through my phone speaker, i was just interested in boosting the volume from the headphones which I thought were too low. Anyhow I discourage everyone who wants to boost their speaker higher than stock, as this phones speaker sounds pretty high, even too high sometimes and you could risk damaging the speaker or braking it.

is it even possible to boost without root? i guess not. but app can probably deliver higher sound.
for root users theres usually a xml file in system/etc i can't tell which one it is since i'm first time huawei user but if u got root why not use viper4android it boosts the volume like
I would like to boost the volume only for my headphones. Which xml files should I edit? I am thinking of using a file explorer to edit the values on OP for this.
Thanks in advance.
Use the playback music controls xposed module. Its awesome and you can also change tracks using volume buttons if you like. The autoplay option is in the settings.
I've found out how to boosz permanently, I guess... System/etc/audio/hissc/mixer_paths_ALICE.xml
Open it with a text editor, and change HISSC_SMT_HSL_GAIN + HISSC_SMT_HSR_GAIN from 12 to 15.

How to disable the uhq upscaler when using wired headphones?

Fairly sure that on Pie the option could be enabled or disabled

I'm now with 10.... going in settings > sounds and vibration > sound quality and effects (sorry if making mistakes, I'm translating from italian) there's all the bolby settings and the eq settings and bellow of this there's UHQ upscaler...tapping it goes to make you choose two options but can't shut it off... Seams that upscaler now always works when plugging in earphones.

Right, can't turn it off anymore. Under upscaling there's tub amp and concert hall but they are grayed when bolby atmos is selected (same as pie)

It's terrible that we cant turn it off.as it sounds better without upscaler
