New SGS10e, want to add in my collection of notification sounds. When I want to add Ringtones there is a + at the top right corner of the page but not so with the notifications page. From a notification sound app I can add their sounds with a permission click, but can't figure out how to add my own.
Use any file manager app and move your notification sound file to internal storage/ notifications folder

Make and save the mp3 files of the notification sounds (less than 15s) into a folder. The phone will automatically recognize the files.

Is there a way to add sounds to the reminder drop down in the calendar?
Take a .wav file and drop it into the Windows Folder via File Explorer. I'm sure that's the way.
Not correct, as there are other wav files in the windows directory and they are not an option for the pull down.
I'm thinking it may be a registry change somewhere.
You have to drop it in your root directory and they have to be made with the right recompressor.
Not working for me, I'm trying to bring over "Alarm 5" to get in that pulldown window.
I have a copy in the Root, & Windows, no luck.
possible to get reminders to vibrate as well?? aparently when ticked on the system also doesnt vibrate
Firstly, you must place the wav file in the device\windows directory and it must be correctly encoded to be used as an alarm or reminder.
Secondly, you can only set a reminder sound in Start>Settings>Personal>Sounds & Notifications, where you can also set it to vibrate also if you want. This is how I have mine set up. You cannot set an individual sound for one particular event only, this sets the sound for all reminders.
Mack, i have added that change, but I thought maybe the pulldown was more then Remind Me or None.
Seems like they could have just made it a checkbox then rather than a pulldown.
I was hoping for Remind Me, Alarm 5, Dinner Bell, None
Can anyone tell me which folder holds the Ringtones and which folder holds the Notification sounds? There are many things I would like to do, one of which is to add soundfiles and make the Agenda give a full, long tune as an event reminder.
Go to /system/media/audio for all of the ringtones and notifications.
You can also create a ringtones folder on your sd card .. Put all the tones in there and then select the folder when you select a ringtone from the settings menu you can choose one from there
im trying to change the notification tone on my i9000. I have copied the .ogg file i want from my i9300 and placed it in two places on my i9000 internal sd card - /mnt/sdcard/DCIM/Music and also /mnt/sdcard/Bluetooth, but when i open the file, and click 'Set As' it only lets me set it as the phone ringtone, caller ringtone or alarm tone, and not the notification tone?
when i go to my settings, then soud settings, then notification tone, it doesnt let me choose a folder to select the notification sound from, and just the standard i9000 ones.
how can i set a custom audio file as the default notification tone for all apps?
try putting the file in system/app/media/audio/notification and then the permission...then reboot and try...

There is an app called zedge (free) that you can download all your favorite ringtones and backgrounds from then just simply choose them from the sound section of your settings section.

Try root explorer or another app with permission and copy the file to system/media/audio/ringtones then set permision to rw-r--r--,save it and then go to setting and choose your ringtone.

I am able to set it as ringtone or SMS tone, in the settings, but in the settings for notification tone the option simply isn't there. Even if I put the file in the notifications folder with file explorer it isn't given as an option

Try using 3rd party app. I personally use Ringtone Setter, which bypasses system's limitations.

Yea I have done that now. It's just strange that on the ringtone and SMS tone settings there is an option at the top of the list to use"local ring tone", but on notification tone that option is absent. The option does appear when you use a third party app to set the tone and then go back in to the notification tone settings, but it is greyed out, so it still says "use local ring tone" and shows the new tone as selected, but as it is greyed out you still can't modify it in the settings like you can with SMS tone and ringtone. Probably just a bug, I can't imagine any reason for into be like that by design.
I use Solid Explorer to copy notification tone mp3 to system/media/audio/notifications(must be rooted) rename ext to .ogg (not sure if this is necessary) change attributes to Group and Global (-rw-r--r--) reboot and your good to go!

Hello!
I just went from an s8+ to s10+ (1tb if that mathers), i now only have one kind of notification sound for everything, on the s8, snapchat and facebook messenger had other sounds to tell them apart, now everyting just sounds the same...
Is there a way to change sound per app notification? I can't seem to find that setting..
Each notification sound is set inside each app. Or you can just go Settings > Notifications > click "show all" and change the dropdown menu to "All".
You can clikc on any app, and if it has a notification sound setting, you can change it in there too.
Step 1) Navigate: settings>>notifications>>see all>>appYouWant
Step 2) You'll see a list called categories with toggle switches with names like "General Notification" click on these, you can set individual tones in here.
