So use custom variables instead of specifying time and make one more profile to increment variables everyday say at midnight

overclock question

i am kinda looking to use an overclock app or widget to obviously overclock my phone, is there an app most people would recommend, or prefer, and how much i should overclock to a safe percentage?
Idk others, but i like to use SetCPU...and i have it set to Max=512 and Min=384.
Overclock widget is free and gets the job done.
If you don't care much for battery life then set both max/min to 528. If not, then go 528/384.
Overclock widget has an option for a different frequency when phone is on sleep/standby. Be careful, if you set it too low, phone might crash, or slow to wake up from calls and messages.
My settings..
528/528 phone on
384/128 sleep/standby
Check auto start on boot, suppress notification, and update interval to 5-10seconds.

Alarm clock replacement app.

I'm looking for an alarm clock app because captivate's stock one fails at waking me up. Either it isn't loud enough or it doesn't rings long enough before automatically going to snooze. Every suggestion will be apreciated.

Try alarm Solo. It is the one I use
I've been using Alarm Klock for a while. It's not super pretty, but it gets the job done.
gentle alarm for me, its paid but well worth the money, you can use full length songs, fade in, control volume and how fast it fades in, and it has a night display so it looks like a real alarm clock at night, in which you can edit with different fonts colors and size of font...
Thanks for the input guys. I'll try and see what works better for me.

That's what I use. Those math problems can be a doozy in the am sometimes, tho.
good morning alarm
Is the one I preference. Fully customized. Also greets u. Time and weather conditions. U can also pick a directory to shuffle your alarms so u never get acustom to the same tone.
Check out Nightstand Bold. Also, try the Luminescence alarm tone. I don't think it ever ends. I'm horrible to wake up and that wakes me up every time because it doesn't stop.

sent from my Captivate
I was looking for something along the same lines for my girlfriends cappy... and ran into AlarmDroid. Seems to do the job well enough though I haven't dug into the full features available... and it's free
I had no idea that us Captivate owners were such a sleepy lot.
It must be from countless hours spent awake late at night flashing new ROM's and kernels. Damn you XDA!
On a more serious note, I almost lost my job today because the piece of crap stock alarm failed me once again, which is how I ended up in this thread.
I'll be using these alarm clocks that have been suggested and hopefully one does the trick for me as well.
Thanks for the referrals.

Gentle alarm is the shiz. Fade in alarms are so good compared to the conventional immediate loud buzzing alarms. Tons of options too

Alarm APP / slowly increasing alarm

Hi there,
I have a Lumia 735, which is great, but I miss a feature:
A slowly increasing volume for the alarm.
Would it be possible to extract the predefined alarm tones and edit these (fade in effect)?
Has someone done this already?
Has anyone noticed in WP10 the same behaviour, or is there an improvement?
The built-in Alarms app already gradually increases volume, or at least it's supposed to. I haven't checked WP10 but I wouldn't expect that to have changed.
In my case this is not working. The alarm is not rising. It starts loud, and stays on this level.
Maybe I should try a different alarmtone (using "Spieluhr" in german, maybe called "musical clock" or "musical box" in english).
There are some alarm apps in store, which have lots of features, fading volume included. Personally, my favourite is Gentle Alarm Clock Lite, just search it and try.

Hey Ara! Thanks for tackling this series. I know that AC ranges from 101 articles, to device rumor mill articles, to tasker tutorial type articles, and based on comparing the comments of the full spectrum of articles, it looks like the tasker crowd might not be as large as some of the other crowds that read and are interested in ACs other stories, so... props to ya for taking on the giant.
I've been using tasker since I had the OG Droid and have loved its functionality. Lately though, I've been stumped on one thing in some of my tasker profiles that I just can't seem to nail down. It's a function that you may or may not be familiar with unless you've done other types of programming, specifically logic programming like ladder logic (PLC). I'm looking for an ON DELAY TIMER, not just a timer that begins and continues counting when a series of contexts (permissives) is activated, but a timer that will ONLY count while the contexts are true, and will stop counting AND RESET when at least one of the contexts isn't true. This way, if you want something to happen 5 minutes after your screen is on and your screen hasn't shut off into sleep mode, it will execute a task, but if for some reason the screen does shut off before 5 minutes, it will not execute the task and will begin counting from 0 sec the next time the screen turns on. I've tried to make custom ON DELAY TIMERS with variables and other methods, but my profiles just don't work the same as if there were just a simple ON DELAY TIMER task built in (Currently with variables, I can only start a timer based on contexts, and then check in an amount of time to see if the contexts are still true at the end of the timer, but nothing to stop the profile if a context goes false during the timing... so with my screen example, tasker can't tell the difference between the screen turning on for a minute, off for 3 minutes and on for 2 minutes and the screen being on for 6 minutes straight.). Anyway, if you, or anyone reading this stupid long comment, knows where to find this ON DELAY TIMER, or how to create one in tasker, please spread the wealth! Thanks!

You can accomplish this but it will eat some RAM.
Have contexts trigger delay timer task.
In delay timer :
1 add variable, say %timer and add 1.
2 wait 1 second
3 stop task if criteria are not met.
4 goto step 1 (variable add) if %timer < set number.
5 whatever action you want triggered when counter reaches end
You can add some steps before the #1 listed for a dialog, spinner, etc if you want user to set new time each use.
Hope this helps.

Galaxy watch 3 weather temp not updating

I use the "informative basic dashboard watchface and one of the selected complications is the weather outside temperature. It does not automatically update as the day goes on. It always shows the temp when I take the watch off the charger and put it on my wrist. If I select the weather app from the bezel it will sometimes update.
Have you checked the weather app settings (need to set from the phone app)? Mine is set for hourly updates and it's working
Thanks for that. I looked and mine was set to 6 hr. I switched it to 1 he. I never saw that option before!
