https://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-20/themes/deep-black-emui-9-theme-t3877187/post79166200 They suggest to search "Dark Mode" emui 9 theme by maurydes in this app
https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...eithememanager
It seems ok except the option for magazine unlock
I can confirm this app has lots of themes, including dark that work on emui 9
But it is absolutely atrocious.
This is the most disturbing thing now

well done! :good:
looks good on EMUI 8 too!
Only one or two little changes would needed , to look better on OREO EMUI8.
(camera.apk - both menu -left&right)
(HiCare.apk)
but this are only "peanuts"
I fixed a few minor bugs.

@Icetea: I fixed bug with camera switchers in new version. I can not fix other bugs because I do not have a phone with Oreo. Sorry mate....

Are you sure, that some of the reported failure are not present in EMUI 5 too?
BTW: please use up counting version numbers for every release.
No, its ok on EMUI 5. EMUI 8 is little different.

yes, i know. But sometimes...
(are some apps like HiCare not the same?)
( and what’s about -> setup -> smart assistance?)
Yes, HiCare and Smart assistant are different on EMUI 8..
i compared the part "com.android.soundrecorder" from your theme to the "XDA Exlusive theme one.
To integrate some of the theme parts from there into "Yellow Chess" (for my personal use only!) was the best solution for my OREO phone and spends a lot of time.
Pardon me for that. Hope you will continue your support of "YellowChess" anyway. Yellow Chess theme is really "well done"!:good:
Bug with notification bubble in Music app fixed.

I guess the system resources has to be themed specially for EMUI.
I use the swift black theme as well, but also the theme "Alpha" theme for LG V30, which themes the system/notifications separately.
Alternatively, you can try to change the built-in dark theme for EMUI (Settings > Battery > Darken interface colors).
Thank you for the answer
I'll give a try the alpha theme
AND yes i have the dark interface in the settings
Unfortunately, several important applications don't work correctly when themed with Swift Black. Google, Chrome, Gmail, Maps and Agenda are a few. I contacted the developer, but there's not much that can be done because the don't have the P20 Pro for testing. A shame, and one of the things I miss from y Pixel 2.

They do work, but not correctly. In these applications, when you select text to copy to the clipboard, for instance, the pop-up menu text is unreadable. For me, this severely affects usability, and I gave up using Swift Black altogether.
What themes are compatible with emui because so far I haven't found any. Thanks!
Has anyone tried Swift Installer - Themes & color engine on the P20 Pro? I currently use it on my Note 8 but I'm getting the P20 Pro tomorrow and would be great to have it working.

Hello do you have a root phone or rootless with andromad which options did you take others phones or pixel nexus? Or Samsung one in substratum thx
Hi, was anyone able to find a dark/black theme for working fully with Emui9 after Pie upgrade?
My findings:
Dark EMUI 9 Theme (Best for Non-pro Huawei Phones: so far the best one I found: the dialer is in white, but rest of relevant apps and settings in black/grey without any bugs.
Generaly there is load of themes partially, not fully working. (in my opinion those are themes originally developed for Emui8 whose creators claimed compatibility with Emui9 without proper testing)
Mostly, the problem occures in certain menu's when user's interaction needed. In numerous menus, the text and background are same color, making text unreadable. You can overlook it during fastcheck, but its very anoying in tons of everyday situations.
How to test it: Choose settings> Home screen and Wallpapers> Wallpaper and choose anyone. Confirm it. Dialogue with choice whether you want to set it on Lockscreen, Homescreen or Both. If this dialoque is normaly visible, theme should be OK. In most cases of problematic dark themes, the dialogue shows in combination white text/white background.
List of tested and not properly working themes (update 19/01/19)
Deep Black Emui theme: Tested v 1.5, not working properly
Dark EMUI 9 Theme for Huawei/Honor: bought, not working properly, returned with refund.
Dark EMUI Theme for EMUI 5/8: not working properly
Moutain Dark Theme: not working properly
Problematic themes from Theme Manager from Huawei
- Samsung One Dark UI: bit confusingly reccomended as working in this topic here on XDA
- Windows 10 Home
- Nightlike
No fully black themes yet sadly, an the theme there has a nasty notification shade slider icon, looks straight out of 2011 ice cream sandwhich 4.0.
Im not upgrading to EMUI 9 until a decent theme comes up.
Maybe you can try this..

:good: try this one
iaureeel: I have bought it and it is not working
2WildFirE: you are refering to the same theme as I did in first post. It has problems with dialogues, that are shown with same color of text and background. (e.g. if you connect phone to the PC, you cannot choose charging/copy mode, and many other similar situation).
So far, this is the theme I sound so far best - it has dialer in white, but rest is in black and working.

Yes, I've just seen this. I was too enthusiast
Did some more testing on promising themes, so far no luck.
Added to the first post.
I know it's not a theme per se, but I had the same "problem" when updating to EMUI9 (notification panel and navigation when keyboard is displayed were white). I found there is an option in "Settings > Battery" called "Darken user interface" or something like that, that turns everything dark, even the dialer.
There is no such option... Screenshot?
It's under Battery > the last setting before "more battery settings".

That's very interesting... I don't have this option and my version is 9.0.0.162 What is yours?
Ps) You don't have Honor View10 do you?
I don't have that option, and I'm on B178. What region is your phone for? Is it L09 C432?

My Honor View 10 is the BKL-L09 C432 version and I don't have that option in my phone. I'm on 9.0.0.178 patch 01 at the moment.
This version is working on my honor lite 9, but its not black, notification is still white !
Hello guys, I love this phone but the only thing I do not like are the white notifications, I have activated the dark mode of emui 9 but the notifications come out in white. help

Find black themes.
I've been trying to figure this out for a week now. Can't find a theme that supports it yet. My only disappointment with this phone is that I miss my dark apps and themes, but it's only a matter of time...
Try https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=emui.en.com.gpix2dark

The only way is to wait untill will be released These compatible with EMUI 9.1. Till now no theme makes black notification or change icons on quick settings.
Install Huawei themes manager from playstore ,then download a dark theme( i have p30 pro dark theme,it has red accent). Turn on dark interface in the system and do a restart after installing the them.
You can change font and icons from themes as usual.

I'll paste u an answer that I wrote this week on p20lite forum
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=79768600&postcount=8
Huawei devices with OLED displays only have dark mode. Sadly not the case with LCD displays. The dark theme mentioned above doesn't seem so bad though.
An update for a black theme came some days, and now it's ~95% bug free. If u disable the graphics effect as says the theme description, u I'll no have bugs, or almost no bugs.
https://theme.page.link/GFu9YNzKPVVQ7yRp9 Enjoy!!!
