hello guys i need help here. i already double check that my OEM unlock is turned on now on my device, but there still RMM State : Prenormal on my bootloader download mode
is it safe to flash TWRP & rooting the phone now even im already turned on the OEM unlocking but there still RMM State Pre normal on bootloader? ill just waiting until i got reply
the reason i need to root my phone is, i need netflix to work with HDMI Out to my TV using Type-C to HDMI Cable, but when i plug my HDMI from my Phone to TV, netflix got error 5.2 when play the movie, and i read somehow on youtube just only need to rename liboemcrypto, is that right?
If that is the only reason for rooting, I think that a chomecast or something similar(of course assuming that the tv is not a smart tv) would be a better option, no cable needed, they are very cheap
I concur with winol.. Just output to tv is not a good reason to risk rooting your phone.
Btw, winol were u a developer of custom rom on note 2?

Try the samsung dex cable. Or samsung dex. Go to a samsung showroom, plug in your phone to dex station and see if netflix will run from there.
It's better too as the station charges your phone as you play netflix..

Thanks a lot, I really appreciate the time you put in to show off all these cool features. I'm still waiting on Verizon to release the Note 2 unfortunetly. When using the Allshare dongle does the multi-screen feature work. For example could you watch Netflix and browse the web, and if so is it smooth. Thanks again for the video.
Oh, not tried it to be honest! Can't believe that slipped my mind, I will test it later and let you know.
Can someone please sticky this

OK, tried it, but whenever you watch video it full-screens the video to the external display (it is still split screen on the device and you can interact with the other window, but I don't think that is what you were after?).

is it possible to connect MHL adapter to USB hub (using a converter from 11pin microUSB to USB, if such thing does exists) so we can use HDTV mirroring and USB OTG simultaneously?

No, it looks like the Smart Dock for the Note 2 will allow for both simultaneously though.

Oh that actually sounds pretty nice being able to stream video(hopefully Netflix) to the TV, and still browse on the phone. I was actually kinda hoping there would be a way to do exactly what you said it does. Thanks for trying that out, the days till they release it on Verizon are slowing down even more now.

Is there a specific otg usb cable for the Note 2, more specifically t889 ? I had been searching every scenario , 5 pin, t889, etc. and can't find any that specifically mention for the Note 2. Meanwhile, I read posts and comments about people connecting the wrong usb otg and bricking their phone. What are you using? Thanks~

No, no specific cable, any USB OTG cable should work fine. Never ever heard of anyone bricking a device using a USB OTG cable - do you have links for these posts? I have to wonder what those people were doing if their phones bricked...

I want to be able to watch fam movies on big screen without worrying about tab dying.

Yes they do exist thankfully! Since I have to currently use such a Cable to actually charge my Tab, via an Apple USB Charger.
I have a new Charger + Cable on order, but the Seller hasn't bothered to ship it out to me yet.
As for a Name? I can't really give ya One. As its a cheap-arsed Chinese Product, that you'd find in any Flea Market for a few Euros.
Okay, posted several times on Q&A forum and had no luck there so I am trying here. My s3 mhl adapter that I have been using to play games etc. Via the note 2 stopped working from one day from another. It says "hdmi cable connected" when I plug in my note 2, but i get no picture nor sound. I tryed it with my friends s3 and it works. It had been working fine for about 2 weeks before it randomly stopped working.

You may need a new mhl adapter. Just in case, make sure the power adapter is plugged in to the mhl adapter while you plug it into the note 2. I had an mhl adapter for the evo 3d and found out the one for the note 2 is different. From my understanding the s3 one should work on the note 2. Have you tried it on another note 2? That may be difficult for you unless you know a friend who has one. Let us know if you figure it out. I'm still trying to figure out which one to buy on amazon.

Thanks for the reply. Ive tried everything possible and what ive come to think is that it must be software related. Unfortunetly i do not have a friend with a note 2 to try it out. Im going to my friends house to try allshare though (he has a samsung tv) and maybe ill get the dongle instead. I still would want the mhl adapter to work though so i dont need to spend more money.

Okay just found out mhl might not work with root. I used exynosabuse to root my device. That might be the issue. Anyone have a solution?
I use Samsung's MHL adapter to HDMI for my Samsung Plasma in my living room. I Use it to watch my Movies from the computer on the big screen etc. The first day it worked great but after a few days use It cuts in and out every so often. Not sure if its cause the frames are to slow or what? But if you find an MHL adapter for an S3 it WILL work for the Galaxy Note 2... If you check on samsungs site the part #'s for the two are the exact same for all models of S3 (there are like 3-5 models) not only is the part number the same for all those and the note 2. But if you are really anal you can click the link at the bottom of the description that says all compatible models. And the Note 2 will be listed there as well.:good:
Sv: S3 MHL Adapter
You don't need to unroot but you need to start ExynosAbuse and deselect the disable exploit options.

As of right now, if you can find an android stick for 35 bucks with the horsepower to play HD netflix, and stream HD content from the net, then there really is no reason. Right now it is very limited, but since I got in on the netflix deal it only cost 11 bucks so it's well worth it to wait and see.
The only thing you're really losing with other sticks(assuming you get a good one), is the Chrome tab share. that's about all I'm using mine for right now.
I think shortly it will be a bit more useful in that it will be integrated with many other apps that you can use your phone as a controller and send video and other content to chromecast, but still a lot of that you can do with some setup on a decent android.
I'll re-iterate that you need to make sure you find a stick that can handle 1080p high def video playback or you really are wasting your money.
The big advantage for me is ease of use. It's much easier to search using the touchscreen on my phone and tap the cast button than to navigate a touchscreen interface using a wireless keyboard to pick out something to watch.

The biggest reason if it is really easy to use if you have an Android phone/tablet and nothing else is 35 bucks or less. Even if nothing else is added, being able to easily cast a YouTube/Netflix video from my phone is worth 35 bucks to me.
Since Google blocked 3rd party apps recently, I think bigger "traditional media" like HBO Go and Hulu+ will release support for their apps so it will make it more useful soon.

It fits in your pocket and only costs $35 for a new tech gadget and costs less than a wireless keyboard.
If you don't know why to buy it then save your $35 or check out the listed features on Google play and see if it helps your mission.

I love the fact that my friends can just play youtube videos from their phone without any setup. We have a blast using this feature. As long as they are on your home network they don't need to setup anything to play videos.

Hey everyone. I gotta say, the droid turbo is an incredible phone even without the promised 48 hour battery life. However, I can not find any info on support for MHL or not. I've got a pioneer radio (this one to be exact) that demands it and so far I can't get it to work. Any help/alternatives to MHL? Thanks.

When I looked for the spec everything I read kept referring to some form of casting or mirroring wirelessly. I am disappointed and pretty confident there is no MHL

I don't know about MHL, but it is compatible with WiDi, MiraCast and AllCast/AllShare.
Just turn on your WiFi then bring up the toggles from the notifications screen and you will see a Cast Screen option.

Yeah i knew that, but i don't know how to get the radio to communicate with my phone.
This is on Motorola site. Doesn't say what phone it works with but I would assume it would work with ours. Too bad it's out of stock for the $3 bucks they want I would have given it a shot.

Any luck on this? I just recently bought a pioneer radio as well, and trying to do the same thing. I have everything connected, but it turbo doesn't play along. Have you made any progress with yours? Bought a new phone that does support mhl??

Droid Turbo doesn't support video out over a wired connection. Your best bet is to buy a Miracast dongle like the Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter or Belkin Miracast Adapter and an HDMI coupler (Female to Female).
Connect the coupler to the HDMI sticking out of the radion and connect the adapter to the coupler. You'll need to provide power the wireless adapter as well.
For the Pioneer radio set the settings to HDMI connection type for AppRadio Mode, pair the Bluetooth from phone the radio and go to your display settings on your phone and connect to the wireless adapter.
PM me if you need more help.
