Hi,
I run a small business and therefore need to save little pieces of information about contacts but not save them as contacts if that makes sense before the update the default Samsung contacts app allowed me to do this and set a but of information about the contact without saving them. I used this for referring to customers etc. Since the update this has all been deleted!
Has anyone got any idea how to fix this without reverting back.
Thanks in advance.

I suspect it might be part of the many, many changes Samsung has made to their various apps and their functionality. If something seems different, doesn't work how it used to before, or is just simply gone, I would chalk up to one of the changes they made. I think it would be better or easier to try and find something else that can do the same thing or similar.

So you mean under notes column in contacts app? I put my comments there and it's still there.

Not sure if this belongs here but it happens on my GT-I9305 rooted with stock ROM.
Baseband version: I9305ZHALI2
Build number: JRO03C.I9305ZHBLJ1
I have 2 privacy issues which concern me:
1. I have deleted my photos but all the thumbnails remain in sdcard/DCIM/.thumbnails
It concerns me the thumbnails in this folder date back to the very first photo I ever took even though I regularly move them to my computer in case I lose my phone. Is this normal or should all traces of a photo be removed once it's been deleted?
2. All my calls are logged in S Planner and I can't figure out how to turn this function off. They include every call I make and receive as well as any SMS's coming in or out. Does anyone know if it's possible to turn this off because I can't find anything in the settings?

You should be posting in the i9305 Q&A section!
1) Just delete the thumbnails folder.. it will rebuild with only the images you still have on your phone the next time you open the gallery!
2) No idea how you managed to get it to do that.. mine doesn't and I can't find any option for it. Sorry.
Just Un sync everything in splanner except Google calendar

Hello,
I'm not here to complain about the "Other Storage" problem, but a similar one:
I manually flashed my Lumia 920 with NCS and, of course, the cloud backup helped me to restore the application and all the rest. Unfortunately, my Whatsapp and Viber conversations didn't backup themselves, so I lost all of them and don't know why (this was a big problem, but not the main problem i'm gonna talking about).
The problem here is that all my apps now fill A LOT of more space than before (I attach you some pics so you can see). I decided updated to Amber and GDR2 last night hoping that would solve the problem but it did not.
Any idea?...

The application installation packages are stored on the phone (Not deleted after installation like any other phone, causing a massive expansion in file size. This might go down over time (WPCentral says GDR2 fixes this issue), but this isn't very likely.

Thank you, I hope it will go dow over time as you said...GDR2 don't fix the issue.
Anyone know if this can be changed through settings (or even an app of some kind)? I can't find anything on it.
I really miss this feature from my S5, especially since I don't ever use split screen which is the default for longpress on the S6
also searching for a solution

I agree. Sorry no answer... but I have seen several threads elsewhere on the topic and this is driving me nuts. From a user perspective: I was previously able to surf on my phone and bookmark / share via the menu key with only one hand. Now I can't because of the change in this key. This is not just a case of stubborness: one handed usability is important for many groups - from the physically compromised to late-night-feeding mothers. I hope a developer can offer a work around soon.

If you're willing to root, you can install LMT for one handed control, including menu button access and the thumb reach stretching pointer.

How can I stop this annoying popup after the end of a call?

I'm on Tmobile. Don't have that screen. So maybe it's in the settings somewhere of your carrier?
Not on my Sprint variant.
Anyone has this problem or can suggest something? Anything? It's killing me.

You could start by providing more detailed information. What carrier? What third party apps do you have that relate to contacts/phone?

My phone is Verizon but I use it with T-Mobile. I've looked up all the apps that has access to my contacts and draw over apps and didn't find anything unusual.
I use truecaller but that one has it's own notification.
The picture I attached in my first post shows what is really bothering me
I have Verizon and don't get this
Well finally after a lot of research and tracking apps I finally found what app it is. It's call (efing) reminder app. That is a part of bixby I guess.
Flashlight
Plagued me for 2 weeks and removed apps one by one. As others suspected, it was a flashlight app. It's gone now. App has an icon that several apps use, so I don't remember precisely which one. Not going to reinstall one to be sure. Light House Inc has this icon.
Its App Backup and restore. Uninstall that and the annoying after phone call popups are gone
Had same problem. After uninstalling app backup and restore, everything fine.
I also had same problem but solved it by uninstalling "Bestie".
I also double checked it again after installing and uninstalling again.
Hope it helps.
App backup & restore fix
Hey everybody. I came across this thread when I was trying to fix this issue on my phone. I saw that nopers said if you uninstall the app it will go away which I'm sure would definitely work. I wanted to keep the app tho so this is what I did:
Settings>Applications>App backup and restore>Permissions>slide phone and SMS off
This worked for me on Samsung Galaxy S7 so hope that helps anyone looking for a solution.
I've spent a great deal of time trying to assess what these Evenwell apps do and have managed to open up a few using secret codes taken from the apps manifest.
1) Use this code on your phone dialler - *#"#3277#*#* it's for Stability Monitor app. This app from the looks of it is designed to send Nokia/Evenwell log reports from ANR crashes, boot reports amongst other things. By opening up the Stability Monitor app, you can actually choose to send yourself all the reports instead of them being uploaded to a server by periodically having zip files saved on your SD card! Very useful indeed.
2) *#*#666#*#* - EMM app. Yes one of the most hated of Evenwell apps that stays running constantly unless you're prepared to use ADB commands. You can manually set up CPU, GPU and DRAM Governors as if you have a rooted phone! You can either switch them off entirely or have them in use at your options. The option2s are switch off, default, screen or heavy app. There are even options for when force stop apps occur and something called dropcache.
You can also see all current app processes and even what EMM considers to be whitelisted apps. Surprisingly it doesn't consider Google Play Services to be whitelisted which answers my own question about why I would get popups to say the app stopped. There is even a way to manually add an app to the whitelist but I have not been successful with this yet as I am not as technically gifted as most people in here.
I will see about uploading some images to the net so I can post here of actual screenshots as I have not made 10 posts yet here so I cannot upload direct from my phone.
There are a few others I've discovered I can open and will update here as soon as I work out what each app does and what you can do on them when you open them up.
I would appreciate some technical assistance with regards to the EMM app as so far by making my own amendments, all I've done is heat my phone up so high I struggle to pick it up! If anyone can test out the CPU, GPU & DRAM Governor options to see which are the best, please update here.
*EDIT* Here's a link to the album I created here to post screenshots -
