I noticed that WiFi stops working on my new G4 pretty often. The WiFi icon is on, and the connection is "up", but the data transmission stops working. I see the top arrow blink (is that transmit?) but the bottom arrow doesn't come up anymore. Trying to do anything fails and times out.
To fix, turning the WiFi off and back on makes it all work again.
Anyone else experience this problem? I know @jonathan3579 reports the same issue.
I am connected to 5 Ghz using an Asus RT-N66 running Merlin firmware. I have no issues with any of my other devices.
Using the "Switch to mobile data" option helps a bit by falling back on LTE when the WiFi stops working.

Same here. Very annoying. Love the form factor of this phone
I have tried the option to switch to mobile data when WiFi unavailable, but still have issues. May just go back to my G2 running Cloudy 3 ROM .

I didn't seem to have this problem at work, so I'll monitor it again today (I just got the phone 2 days ago).

I'm having the same issue at home. I could be watching a video and suddenly stops. I don't know if it has to do something with root. I noticed it starts happening yesterday. I never had this issue and I got this phone sine 5/27 when it was released. I'll do a factory reset.

I'm not rooted and mine has done it ever since I got it (and did a factory reset before setting it up). I doubt resetting yours will fix your problem.

Are you having this issue everywhere you go or just one specific place?
I had not noticed it at work, but I only got on the WiFi yesterday for a little bit. This morning it failed on me, so, that's two for two. Haven't used it in many places.
The hotspot works great though. I tether an iPod Touch in my car automatically whenever I drive and I haven't noticed any issues there.

I'm at work and I have been watching multiples videos and no issue at all.
I just noticed this today happening to me too. =(.
Pretty great phone otherwise! Also connected 5ghz to a RT-AC68U (the T-Mobile cellspot), flashed with an older Merlin firmware.
Had to reboot to get it to behave again.
Me too
I've been having this issue too. I've noticed that I lose data and WiFi calling simultaneously. I thought it was my router because we were having issues with the router dropping phones and laptop, but now with a new router it is only my phone that is having a problem.

Running DNSet has definitely helped with keeping the data flowing, and I appreciate that.
WiFi calling is still dropping. When I look in the settings it says "enabling" and just hangs.
What internet provider do you have I'm assuming Comcast

This issue appears to be due to the 5ghz radio. I am not sure if it is software or hardware, but if you connect to the 2.4ghz band, the issue will go away.
Its most likely a issue with lollipop

Lollipop on the G4 maybe, but I have used a Nexus 6, a Moto X and a Dell Venue 7840, all running Lollipop, without issues. The G4 is the only one that has this issue. I never tested my old G3 on this network with Lollipop, I sold it before the update rolled out.
Problem fixed?

I switched to 2.4 ghz and WiFi calling appears to be staying connected. My provider is Oceanic Time Warner and my router is T-Mobile cell spot.
Fingers crossed and thanks for all the help.
Did these wifi problems start after root?
Mine were happening before root, I think. I switched to T-Mobile cell spot router right before I rooted because my old router was regularly dropping connections, and I have been paying attention more since I rooted. I am also caring for 11 month old twins, so things are kind of a blur. What I am saying is I might not be the most reliable source. I can say that switching from 5ghz to 2.4ghz seems to have solved my WiFi issue.
It happens mostly when the screen is off (even though I have the always on setting enabled) but also when using the phone normaly. Suddenly I get a toast that I was connected to my WiFi. I've also checked the router logs an I see that the honor 5c is constantly disconnecting and reconnecting. Does anybody else have this problem? I'm on latest emui 4.1.2 without root or any other mod. I played with different channels and frequencies but that didn't help at all. Any ideas? I think it has to do with the battery optimization settings of marshmallow but even on the performance setting the WiFi connectivity just drops.
Whoever finds this will be my hero
In the wifi settings, just check that, "Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep" is set to always or not. If not then set it to always.
Edit : Sry i haven't read ur post properly. Is this the problem from the starting? Coz i don't have this issue.
I think I noticed this problem since the beginning but after flashing the latest 4.1.2 it got worse. Skype and WhatsApp calls get disconnected while screen is off (after 15 seconds or so).

The problem was with the original Rom and the reason why I flashed the latest.
Exactly the same issue.

Hello,
I have exactly the same issue. I checked also dhcp mode in the developer tools.
Did you found a way to solve it ?
Changing the router solved the problem.
Hi there!
I have this zuk z2 pro monts ago and it comes with a custom shop rom. With the custom rom everything worked perfectly except that it doesnt have the option to update its system.
So to be able to update its system, i flashed it with a stock rom and it updated without any problem. Then im starting to notice that when i am on my wifi, some apps seemed to have stopped to connect. So i tried it on data, and it worked fine. Tried to connect it to another wifi of another isp, it works, but when im back on my providers wifi the problem still there. Also tried connecting to other wifi with the same isp as mine, and yeah, still apps dont run.
Now, is it possible that the stock rom is being selective with isps when running wifi? Anyone had this very weird problem like mine?
I have the same problem. When I connect to the wifi from my provider it fails, disconnects, stops working.
But I found a solution (for me): I added an extra wifi-router to my adsl-modem. Now I don't have that problem anymore.
Why this is happening, I don't know.

I think that this happens because Zuk z2 is configured for China region at wifi. You can change the region at custom roms but stock rom doesn't have this option
Other similar problem

In my case I have a similar problem. My Wifi not work in 2.4Ghz frequency only in 5.0Ghz. Somebody can help me? I already flash various custom roms and stocks (using qfil) and basebands (from basebands colections) and one million of possible things. Can would be hardware problem?

Try to flash aex or lineage. At advanced wifi settings they have a region setting. Choose China and tell me if it helps

Not work! Actually the lineage rom is installed and the region choosed is China. I don't know what I do.
Any solution?
Try to flash 1.9.104 st by qfil . Notice that relock bootloader . If it doesn't improve that means hardware problem .

can be a problem of incompatibility between zuk phone and wifi router as well. Some TPLink routers are already known not to be working good with ZUK Z2 Pro. So it is not always a fault of ZUK
Today i am trying sagemcom modem. No sucess! It connects for only 5 seconds.
After 4 roms(android 7.1 and 8.1), 3 routers(tp-link and Sagemcom) and 2 days, i dont know what to do!
3 months of heavy use and no problems. suddly i heppens!
But if i put the phone on the router(Very close), it keep conected, but the connection is very very very low speed.
Same problem, after stock ROM update wifi see all networks, but impossible to connect. I install zui 1.9, i update, i install persist partition, i try aex, RR... Same problem, wifi can t connect, you have solution?
Any solution?
Solution to my problem.
Sorry, i wasn't to visit here and post the fix i did to solve my problem. Anyways, here it is.
Basically i found out that the problem goes with a sudden incompatibility issue with my phone and the wifi. Im clearly not sure as to what may have caused such, but it come and goes from time to time.
Solution:
I just simply had a reset on my router and walla, solved it. Also, do a clean up on your wifi list. Forget your old SSID, and connect to the new one. This basically solved mine.
Thanks! Keep me posted and see if my solution helps.
I guess you should try the suggestion given at the comment above. But even better than that, you wouldn't have this problem if you had bought my ZUK as you initially wanted to. Cheap is not always really cheap...
Hi,
I have been having problems with wifi connectivity since ASD9. I'm connected to WIFI but chrome will say I'm offline for example and other apps won't see my phone as connected. Switching to 4G sometimes fixes the problem but often doesn't, it will still show as offline. Rebooting helps but that's not very practical. Before trying a factory reset I figured I'd share this here and see if anyone had the issue and found a fix that's less intrusive.
I have the same problem which is annoying. I found out that switching airplane mode on and off helps. Is there anyone else with same problem and updated to may patch? I wonder if its fixed.

Just an idea to isolate the problem, do you use adguard dns or something similiar?

None of those. I'm not rooted, no private DNS, purely stock software and no customizations. My 6T does not have this problem and this really started with the latest update. I have the same problem at work on the cafe wifi.
My wife and I are having wifi issues as well with certain apps. Tested my speed and was running 170 - 180 Mbps.
I was downloading files from my home server onto the phone this morning via WIFI and noticed it was rather slow. I was 20 feet away from my WIFI router tops (line of sight) and the phone was connected at 144Mbps. It usually is at 1054Mbps when I'm that close and only drops when I change floors.
I'm hoping this gets fixed quickly. I'm with Telus so unless they push an update, I don't really have options. I still have access to a Note 9, maybe I'll try a side by side comparison this week.
I'm hoping for a fix soon because not only does WIFI give me problems but battery doesn't seem to last as long as before.
I have problem with ASD9 on my at&t s10 plus. Just wondering about adding new ar emoji editor does work 4 u?

For the past three months, I am facing this odd situation where as soon as I turn Bluetooth on, the wifi disconnects. I have tried everything that I learned from Google and even reset my phone twice, but no solution so far. I have tried 5GHz wifi but still the same issue. I cannot use Bluetooth headphones or connect my phone to the laptop or smart watch while connected to wifi. I bought this phone in February 2022. It worked fine for a month and then this problem started. Please help.

If you haven't physically damaged your smartphone, then my guess is that you are experiencing a software (driver) problem -- in that case you have 2 options:
report this issue to Xiaomi & wait for the next MIUI release,
install (after unlocking the bootloader) a custom ROM (replacing MIUI) -- you can choose whichever you like:

a custom rom won't fix it i guarantee it , its a hardware issue . ive had the same problem with various devices over the years , phones , tables and laptops . the wifi and bluetooth signals interfere with each other . try putting your wifi on 2.4ghz bands b / g and see if it helps
I tested your issue twice just now. Connected the phone to a 5Ghz Wi-Fi then turned on the Bluetooth, after that I it paired with a sound system. The Wi-Fi never disconnected during the process. Maybe you have too many wireless devices in your area. Do more tests in a different location. Try flashing a different version of MIUI global if the issue persists.

Surprisingly your suggested solution was spot on. I had two smartwatch apps on my phone (one for Haylou, and the other for the Mibro smartwatch). I uninstalled both, restarted my phone and turned on both bluetooth and wifi. No more disconnection issue. Now have to figure out which app is actually causing the problem. Before your reply, I posted my problem on many forums and searched google, but no effective solution till your reply. Thank you very much.

Thank you for your reply, brother. But how can you test my issue when you don't have the problem in the first place? Regardless of which network I am using (home, office, friend's house) and on which band I am (2.4 or 5.0 GHz), as soon as I turned on the Bluetooth, wifi disconnects. Swapon88's suggestion really worked. It was the smartwatch app.

Brilliant. I was having this issue and uninstalled "da fit" app and it's fine now. Thanks
I am also facing a similar issue. When I am connected to Wifi and Bluetooth simultaneously, wifi disconnects after a few minutes and no Access points shows up in the available networks section. Wifi reconnects when bluetooth is turned off.
I dont have any smartwatch app installed.

Yup, that seems to be the case. Can confirm such 'issues' happened on my moto g3, moto g5 plus, rn8 too because of interfering frequencies that causes either Bluetooth or wifi to disconnect (shortly).
