Hi,
I have a rooted Fire 10 HD that I would like to remote control from my mobile.
I thought remodroid could do the trick, but I cannot make it work.
On my mobile I can see an available connection on my fire, but when I try to connect nothing happens.
Has anybody been successful in using remodroid on the fire 10 or can recommend me another way to remote control this tablet (what I want is a way to change the volume and to select videos to play).
Many thanks!

This is about as far as I have gotten in regards to remodroid. https://forum.xda-developers.com/amazon-fire/help/cast-screen-function-android-devices-t3616538

I was wondering if there a way to make the Kindle HD 7 start faster? I love using the Yatse remote to control Kodi on my Fire TV, but would like to access it faster.

Not really because it has to boot up.
If I remember correctly, persano's tweaks had an option where you could disable the boot animation. It may be worth checking out.
I'm researching whether I can root/convert a Kindle Fire HD7 into a single-use video player. I'm planning to ship the player to a client as part of a promotion my company is doing.
Here's what I'm hoping for:
The client opens up the box and sees the Kindle Fire.
The client turns the Kindle Fire on and the screen displays instructions to put the headphones on and then press play.
The client puts on the supplied headphones and presses play. The video plays.
The video finishes playing and returns to the previous screen.
I don't want apps, menus, settings, or anything else available. I just want it to do this one thing and do it perfectly without a hitch. The only thing that the client should be able to do is:
A. Turn the Kindle on.
B. Adjust the volume.
C. Watch the video as many times as they wish.
D. Turn the Kindle off.
This might be a long shot, and I've never rooted a device or worked with Android developers, but my cursory research has led me to this forum and I'd be eager to hear your input. I have a hunch that a rooted Kindle can achieve this.
If this would work better or be easier to achieve with another tablet (perhaps an older one) I would gladly entertain that possibility. My boss bought the Kindle Fire HD7 for this purpose so I'd like to at least give this a shot before throwing in the towel.
Your help is greatly appreciated!
I'm willing to bet you can accomplish this with a launcher.
You need to find a launcher you can
1: hide apps on
2: lock settings with password
Then I would simply hide all apps except your video app and lock the launcher
My initial thoughts are a child safe launcher those are very very customizable and usually lock out everything and are password protected.

I couldn't find anything remotely (sorry) similar so I'm asking here if anyone can help.
Is there any way of pairing the Fire TV remote to an android phone/tablet & then control the phone with the remote?
Has it been done before and/or is there a specific app I need in order to do this?
I broke my touchscreen digitizer & currently use ADB/Android Control & Remodroid to use it, but it would be much easier if I could just pair a Fire TV remote & use that instead.
The same would apply to watching a movie on my tablet & using the remote to forward/rewind/select etc.
Thanks for your help.
Hi,
looking to pick a fire tablet and use as a photo frame if anyone can recommend any apps that will work with Dropbox or NAS drives.
What I'd like to do is schedule the tablet to switch on/off. I've read some versions of android can do this but can't find anything related to the fire OS.
Please advise if power control can be scheduled?
Thanks

Scheduled power control is not supported by the kernel on this device.
Hey guys,
I just got a fire tablet 10 hd and I realized that there's no way built-in to mirror my screen to my smart TV. With my Samsung phone there's a mirror setting right in the settings menu that allows me to mirror to my TV or my fire stick. I also have Air Server installed on my Xbox One which allows me to mirror my phone there, too.
The fire tablet 10 doesn't seem to have any way to mirror anything. I downloaded Air Server onto my fire tablet via the google play store and I was able to mirror the fire tablet to my fire stick, but after, like, 20 seconds, it says "air served closed" and it automatically disconnects the fire tablet from the fire stick.
My question is, is there a reliable app that I could install that could get my fire tablet 10 to mirror to Samsung Smart TV, Fire stick, and or Apple TV? I have access to the google play store.

Can you use the Chromecast and install Google Home from Google Play store
If you don't have a Chromecast. Android TV has a Chromecast built-in. You have it.
Or use TeamViewer.

Oi - please stop responding to old posts (in this instance nearly two years old) with incorrect, irrelevant or incomplete information. Google Home will not run well, if at all, on FireOS v5. Play Store is not natively available on Amazon devices; side loaded builds have proven increasingly unreliable although it remains a viable option. Best course of action is to unlock and install a custom ROM (which brings other problems) but there isn't enough info in the OP to determine if this is even possible.
