Dear all,
I bought a mipad4 plus (10.1) updated with last MIUI 10.1 on Android 8.1 version.
After "google" integration (using playstore, morelocate2 etc), everything works well.
I'm using this tablet as a home management system (using Jeedom software) and the tablet is piloted by the domotic software to be switch ON/OFF (screen) and for the charge/discharge (i can turn on/off the charger).
One thing is the bottleneck of behavior. On previous Android version, an option exists named "Wifi Always On" to avoid wifi disappear when the screen is off. At this time, i don't find this option. And of course, the screen is awaken by the software which managed the tablet to turn on again the wifi...
Any idea to activate "Wifi Always On" feature ?
To switch on an AOSP or Mokee ROM always this feature ?
But for TV visionning, i need to use an non-root ROM... this is why i prefer to don't lock the bootloader and install custom ROM...
Many thanks for your help !

I just started with flashing ROMs , was using standard one till now, but I have some little problems, especially concerning touchflo3d (I think).
Right now I flashed Touch X 10.5 Ultimate but I had the same problem with the jacks rom 4.4 lite , that data connection and push mail just keeps getting on when I turn it to off. I would really like it to be able to turn off data connection when I want to, but it instantly goes on . Can it be done?
On my stock R3A it worked perfectly, can anyone help ?
Right now my WiFi is keep getting on when I turn it to off, dont know why ....:S
Data stand on off.
Any ideas ?
Hey guys! I have only just joined XDA Developers so please excuse me if I have posted this thread in the wrong area. I have a Samsung Galaxy S Advance (GT-I9070) running stock Jellybean firmware (4.1.2 ITV) but as you all know the stock firmware for this device is full of bugs and freezes often. I successfully rooted my device and installed Team Canjica's CM10.2 ROM (4.3) from the thread on XDA Developers but the WiFi wasn't working. I then installed Maclaw's CM11 ROM (KitKat) because I thought that might solve the issue but it didn't. Here are the details:
Device scans for nearby wireless routers.
I type in the password for my home router.
Device saves router. "Saved, Secured" message displayed.
I tap on my home router in the list to connect.
Device says "Connecting" for a couple of seconds and then goes back to saying "Saved, Secured".
I browsed through the forums and some users suggested switching WiFi Frequency to Auto and turning off WiFi Optimisation but neither of those methods worked for me. The ROM was installed successfully and all other features are working properly so I don't think that is the issue. And my router settings are also alright since I am able to connect to it from my Nexus 7 (2013) properly. Can someone please provide me with a working solution for this issue? I will start receiving very high data usage bills soon because my data plan isn't unlimited. Thank you!
Is your ssid hidden (not broadcasted) by any chance? i had those troubles on hidden home network. Sometimes it worked after a while, sometimes it didn't. What helped me is to broadcast ssid for a moment, get connected with phone, remove broadcast (it will reboot router so phone will lose wifi for a moment). Then somehow it got connected normally

I just checked my router settings and SSID Broadcast is enabled. I tried flashing OmniRom 4.3 thinking that this may be because of a problem with CyanogenMod but the problem still persists. Is there any additional kernel that I was supposed to install perhaps?
CyanogenMod 11 version ?

Just a detail to those who have not upgraded to JB stock and think it is impossible to use it without problems:
All bugs and freezes in Stock JB currently are perfectly finished.
I use STOCK, only with modified kernel (cocore 8.2) without freezes or bugs in months of use.
Enjoy the developer's work (cocafe), because without it JB probably would be impossible in SGA. However we have JB 100% functional and bug-free.
About KK and WIFI bugs:
The only KK (or based) ROM that used without WIFI bugs was RR 20140313.
In fact, the only issue is incall vol. in my experience.
WiFi Direct, Camera -> Panorama is laggy , Screen Recorder not working Not Tested
I also noticed that the battery is worse durability.
But I went back to JB Stock -- personal preference.

Actually I did try that method. Flashed Samsung's latest stock firmware I9070XXLQL (ITV) and then rooted and installed CoCore. To be honest overall performance was much better and UI smoothness was improved. But after a couple of days of regular usage with just a few basic applications such as a note taker, train arrival time, WhatsApp etc. the device started freezing up a couple of times a day again. I admit it worked much better than before but freezes and hangs were still quite frequent. Running OmniROM 4.3 now with no issues so far except for dialer FC, laggy panorama and non functional WiFi hotspot.

WIFI not working with cm-11-20140521-UNOFFICIAL-janice and cm11.0_janice.nova.201406
Same wifi problem with cm-11-20140521-UNOFFICIAL-janice and cm11.0_janice.nova.20140601. Wifi not connecting even after giving the right password (used to work correctly with jb4.1.2 and still works with desktop) only showing saving and connecting wifi. Then the wifi connection is shown to be saved. If wifi does not work with cyanogenmod11, then what's the use of upgrading?
Is wifi is not working in any custom kitkat Rom?
Please suggest a solution.
Try couple times to connect. I remember sometimes I had to reconnect 2-3 times before it gets connection. And the problem with kernel was about WIFI not turning on at all, it was not even search SSIDs.
Hello,
I upgraded my phone to the unbranded/Nordic version (9.2.A.1.210) from the original 9.1.A.1.140.
While this brought many positives (support of BLE for my forerunner & good battery life), it also brought some negatives:
- A terrible clicking noise when the camera is auto-focusing (clearly a known bug in all JB version ...)
- A very unstable wifi
On this second issue, I have not seen any other report of the issue.
The symptoms are quite basic, after some time (around couple of hours), the phone will no longer associate with any wifi.
The only method I found was to enable/disable the airplane mode to restore normal wifi operation ...
I have installed wifi-fixer for having more details, since the wifi is looping on the association mode (could be authentication errors on these known network). Of course, all authentication info are correct as the phone will connect properly once going through the airplane mode ...
I also re-flash that firmware, from the .ftf but also forcing it from Sony SUS ...
At this point I reverted back to 4.1.2 as I'd rather have less features but reliable one (wifi is flawless now - well just as it should be ...)
Anyone else with the problem ? Any solution identified ?
Same problem Here
Would you please point me to the tutorials to get back my phone to 4.1.2, thank you?

Just follow the guide in the general section (i.e. retrieve the right .FTF file and use flashtool), this is very straightforward.
Tried with the ROM from Singapore, same issue ...
=> Association rejected on all known wifi
(using the power button to cycle the airplane mode restore the wifi for 10-15 mn)
Any advice on how to troubleshoot ?

Maybe it's your wifi that gives problem of compatibility when you're on 4.3
Try with another wifi if you can..
And try to change some settings of your current wifi like number of channel, kind of encryption, and so on..
In fact the problem is more complex as sometime my wifi appears to be ok but I do not have any connectivity ...
Now, I believe I found some interesting infos:
=> prb is directly tied with usage of Bluetooth (especially 4.0 BLE)
When the wifi is 'broken', disabling BT will indeed restore normal wifi operation ...
I could not notice the issue before since Android 4.1.2 do not support BLE ...
I've notice others thread reporting WIFI/BT issue (notably around support of smartwatch)
In my case, I'm trying to have my garmin GPS Watch to pair with the phone, this is were the prb can be easily reproduced
I have the same issue! That damned Association Reject!
I can confirm this is due to Sony 4.3 as Wi-Fi still work normally on my other 4.3+ devices (Nexus 7 2012, Galaxy Nexus)

Same here
i have tried numerous methods to fix this so far no luck..im on ub flashed 2 3 roms even stock rom with sus
One observation ...
This time, running stock .210 but not installing my BT4.0 Application (Garmin Connect), I only had the Wifi/BT issue once ...
I will install the application but not connect to my watch (Forerunner 620), to see where exactly is the breaking point.
After all these, I will certainly consider unlocking my bootloader and try the Omni ROM (as I see Walter79 is extremely active)
Hello
Background
I have a OnePlus 3 since Nov 2016. The phone is awesome. But doesnt play well with Android auto when using with custom roms. Atleast on my car, a Mahindra XUV 500.
In the initial few months, there was an issue with stock rom too, but OnePlus solved it and the stock rom works brilliantly with Android Auto.
What is the problem?
On custom roms - every time i connect my phone using the stock OEM cable to my car, android auto is detected and the headunit displays the interface. This lasts for a few seconds to a few minutes and Android Auto disconnects. It re initiates and the interface displays once again, only to disconnect once again. This goes on and on in an endless loop.
On stock rom - no problems. It stays on rock solid.
What have I explored so far
I have tried to triangulate the issue using circumstantial evidence. But there is nothing that consistently triggers this issue. I have tried:
- changing Roms [have tried 8-10 roms, all have this exact issue]
- changing cables [stock, aftermarket, et al. no luck]
- allowing all wakelocks in custom kernels
- disabling USB fast charge
- disabling charging all together
- enabling disabling various usb modes - debugging, mtp, ptp etc.
- upgrading/ downgrading Google play services and other google apps
- various quirky tweaks - with sim, without sim, display always on, etc etc.
There is no trend noticed whatsover
What works?
The only time the connection is stable is when there is activity happening on the screen. Which means, if there is active navigation through maps or music is playing or notifications are flowing. This is the only time when android auto does not disconnect.
My Theories
My conclusion is that there either some form of communication that is happening which keeps the connection going or there is some wakelock that is preventing the connecting from disconnecting.
It could also be something to do with the charging current. Stock rom usually forces the permissible limits but custom kernels push the limit on the amperage. But note that disabling USB fastcharge has no impact. So it could even be the normal USB current as included in the kernel.
Proposition
I am willing to offer a bounty to any developer who could help me by pin pointing the commits that are required to make custom roms/ kernels work. I am very confident this is possible because stock rom already has made it work long back.
Since the demand for android auto on custom roms is quite low, i dont find too many users talking about this. But i use AA extensively - couple of hours each way on my commute and i want to stick with custom roms. Hence this request and offer.
My initial offer is for USD 50 to whoever can help do it first.
Resources
the oneplus commit that they claim made AA work back in the days of N:
https://github.com/OnePlusOSS/andro...mmit/33a109bb360e89182a0db0b00e0650b1b915f4a2
look for the description that says "usb: change product name to OnePlus for Android Auto". After this the stock rom has been rock solid. Also note that this change did not find its way into the Oreo source code. No clue why. This only points to the fact the problem is elsewhere.
Example custom rom source, for reference, which doesnt work:

PS: I hope this finds some takers. Really hoping!!
Will try to post a video later today.
Cheers!
Im unable to see the wifi6 band. using latest standard rom (no root). I have mange to see it after a reboot to safemode and back, when back to normal boot wifi6 disappear after a min or two,.. then can redo and same happens,
Any idea how to fix this? (no format)
First I would check your router.
Many top brand routers let you set up the 5G part (used by Wifi 6) in many different ways, from channel selection, bandwith, auto settings etc..
I suggest to fiddel around with these settings to see which is best. When you use DFS channels there can be interference by radar systems of nearby airfields or military installations so better not use that setting.
Think I have fidle around everywhere I can fidle. I have seen 6ghz just breefly sometimes. Updated firmware on phone, router. Chenge all settings in the router. Been in android safe mode. Only thing left is factory reset of phone. Was hoping to not need to do so. Btw Is an Asus axe16000 round
Update. Done factory reset on phone and router. Still no sign of 6ghz
In your Asus router settings page (never use the app), in the tab 'wireless' you see AX wifi 6 mode on enabled? Multiband Agile on off. Time to Wake on off too?
Little below (same tab) under 5Ghz you can select or deselect 160mhz to see if that happens.
There is also a Asus Merlin firmware which is generally considered a better version of the regular Asus firmware. I highly recommend. For your model:
Asuswrt-Merlin - Browse /GT-AXE16000/Beta at SourceForge.net
Alternative firmware for Asus wireless routers
sourceforge.net
Just get the Beta and get the stable 388.2 when it's available. It might help

Thanks, I have that router and running latest merlin.. Tryed the settings you mentioned. Still no joy.
Btw i tryed the xiaomi support. What a waste of time. Kinda hilarious. 🫨 Was "painful" to read. (so little knowledge)
Maybe you can test the phone on a friends home Wifi that supports Wifi 6 or maybe you did that already?
No one I know have, but I tested a app to map wifi called wardriving or something to log every wifi it can se when driving/walking around. Not descover any random either.. Consider unlock bootloader to check other roms if any. Since I do believe I have a firmware bug
On which version and region your 12 Pro is now running?
runnig V14.0.8.0.TLBEUXM 13.0 Europe
Xiaomi support is just to comply to certain laws I think. The conversations I've had myself were absolutely sad.
But, I would recommend Xiaomi.eu ROM if you're going for a custom ROM. Should not be needed for wifi 6 but it's the best free upgrade you can give your phone anyway.
Yea. Been thinking about installing it.
But you still did not test it on a different Wifi 6 ap.
Why is this so important?
Because the root of your problem could still very well be at your router at home and since you did not rule that out it is not wise to fiddle around with custom rom's when maybe your phone is not to blame.
