Enabling lockdown mode - Xiaomi Mi 8 Questions & Answers

Hello, is there any way to use Android Pie's lockdown mode feature on Mi 8? This function disables facial recognition and your phones fingerprint sensor temporarily. But I cannot see any option on MIUI 10.2.

I'm searching for an answer to the same question.

Miui doesn't support this feature.

So, is there anything equivalent in the MIUI launcher / ROM ? It seems to me that this should be a standard feature available on all Droid phones..

Fingerprint apps

Hello, does anyone know any apps that make use of the fingerprint reader? Doing a search brings up many fake apps. Paypal has it activated but only for Samsung phones

maybe need to wait Android M for generic fingerprint apps support.
That's what I was thinking. It'd be nice if Google made app developers put "fake" in the beginning of the title of fake apps to help distinguish however I don't think that will happen haha

LastPass also has a fingerprint reader option, but it's is currently listed as unavailable for my Z5C.

Same on Z5, unavailable.
I think we'll have to wait for Marshmallow, it will provide official Google fingerprint scanner APIs to developers.
yes with MM it's possible : http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/xda-devdb-app-fingerprint-app-lock-t3331403
That app seems to be only for camera
Lastpass finger unlock is working on Z5 marshmallow!

i just developed fingerprint app locker.
Free Version - Link
Pro Version - Link
Now you can lock your mobile apps using your fingerprint.
• No Peaking in recent apps
• Fully optimized
• No battery Drain
Note :
• you must register your fingerprint in your device
[Settings]> [Security]> [Nexus Imprint]
• Turn On Accessibility Service , this app will not work without enabling it.
[Settings]>[Accessibility]> turn on > [App Locker : Service]
• Enable Device Admin to prevent unauthorized uninstall.
[Settings]> [Security]> [Device Administrators]> turn on > [App Locker]
Please let me know your thoughts and review.

Fingerprint Applock which can use specific fingerprint?

Our device can have upto 5 fingerprints. Does anyone know if there is some app that can lock the apps only with the fingerprint I specify.
Like for eg. I have 5 fingerprints of two different persons and I don't want the other person to unlock a specific app through his/her fingerprint.
Instead I specify that say that so and so app will be unlocked through Finger 1.
Is this even possible??

There's a feature called app locker in security and fingerprint and that allows to set up different apps to be opened only with fingerprint or other secured methods like pin password or pattern

I dont think any such feature exist in Android. I had this feature in my jail broken iPhone where we can assign different actions for all registered fingerprints. I am also looking forward to get this feature in Android .

I see no developer has replied on this thread yet. The feature does not exist but if iPhone can have it then Android can too.
Hope to see a skilled developer here who can make this possible.
Thank you

Android 10 - Smart Reply (MIUI 11)

Dear Friends,
I did some research and don't seem to find any settings regarding Android 10 feature of Smart Reply.
It doesn't seem to work by default either.. when messages come it doesn't suggest replies or google maps option as advertised by google.
Do you guys have it?
Xiaomi Mi 9 MIUI 11.07
Thanks!:good:
Anyone?
I'm not anymore on miui, but if i remember, you can find it in settings >special options> smart reply.

Sorry sir, i confused these 2 options. Normally this app activate the smart Reply feature : https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-inc/device-personalization-services/ but i don't know if it works on miui.

Suggestions in the settings is NOT a bug

In the settings there are suggestions that cannot be removed. This is not a fault of Xiaomi, Google delivers the stock without any option to remove it. Companies like Nokia and Motorola implemented an X at the top of each block to be removed, but it depends on the company.
Below the solution for motorola, note the X at the top.
Are you sure about this?
In this link the original poster is affected by this in what seems to be a pixel phone.

The notification bar with the battery display is not a Pixel phone.
You are right, it's probably an umidigi. I guess in both cases you get what you pay for.
No
Nope, you're wrong, the x button on top of settings suggestion is an AOSP feature implemented in Settings Suggestion app and due to a bug is not being shown. Also device personalization app which is responsible for app suggestions in quick switch can't operate because it's not a system app.
The correction must have come in stock then.
Ya, it's not a bug. Please don't fix it.
Bug or not bug, a Mi A3 user came up with a solution that works with Mi A2 too, does not require root and does not disable the searchbar.
Also Mi A3 has an option to hide suggested Apps in the app drawer.

Suggested apps is such a joke in android 10. There are times that only 2 or 3 apps are "suggested" and it then looks horrible. Also "suggestions" is just the last used apps, not much of a suggestion.

If xiaomi hasn't fixed this issue for the Mi A2 yet, try using this command in adb and see if it works:
Code:
adb shell settings put global setting_apps_suggestions_enabled 0
I was messing around with Setedit app on my Mi A3 and seems to be related with the app suggestions in launcher (on my device at least).
