Is this safe to update without breaking root?

On my Transformer tablet, I can root, and use Voodoo OTA rootkeeper to update via OTA and maintain root on the stock firmware + root.
Is this possible with the HTC One? From the FAQ, it appears as if I'll have to manually flash for every OTA if I want root.
Thanks!
Is it possible to update my phone to the MJ5 update without updating the bootloader?
My phone is still on MI9, and I'm able to use Root_de_la_Vega N900AUCUBMI9. However, I heard they addressed a few issues that affect me in the MJ5 firmware. Is it possible to upgrade to MJ5 without updating the bootloader as well... all without tripping Knox??
(PS. I've been Googling this for over a week now, and I've yet to find an answer.)

Just update to MJ5 and don't worry about the bootloader. You can still ROOT with Kingo as it has been approved by XDA now and it does not trip KNOX.
Hi. I am rooted, have installed a few root apps (Lightflow, AdAway) but made no other changes (no custom recovery, have not disabled encryption...)
I wish to take an OTA update. I understand that OTA won't succeed if I have made modifications. Is it sufficient to do a full unroute in SuperSu? Or will the OTA still fail? Anyone have experience? Thanks!

You will need to be "out of the box" stock for OTA to flash.
You don't have to wait for an OTA. You can manually flash the stock image and skip the wipe user data part.
Will updating with OTA to 222.201.1 with a rooted device XT1060, remove root or cause any issues?
I will not update if I lose root.
Hello friends,
I'm on 8.1.0.161 with my CLT-L29. I got the OTA update notification for weeks now.
I'd love to update but IIRC there were no simple ways to do that without losing data and root. Did the situation change meanwhile?
What would be the steps necessary to run the OTA update? Remove root, flash stock recovery (I'm on twrp 0.1 now), install OTA update, then root again?
Best regards,
