ATTENTION! Maximum Power Saving mode messes up push notifications! - Samsung Galaxy Note 9 Questions & Answers

I have encountered a really annoying problem. From the moment you have used the Maximum Power Saving mode, it will mess up your push notifications such as mail and WhatsApp.. even if you're back in normal battery mode.. restarting phone doesn't fix it.
The way it messes it up is that push notification don't come true realtime, but rather only when you wake the phone manually..
I'm searching for a fix and will update here. Just don't use the Maximum Power Saving mode.. and if you know more please leave a comment..

Hard Resetting the phone didn't help.. I think there must be something else wrong..

Seems like it, but I doubt it is hardware.. it worked perfect couple days ago, until I had to use Maximum Power Save mode.. from then on... But that a hard reset doesnt fix it.. :s.. Anyone else experiencing delayed notifications with WhatsApp?

Search the web and you will clearly see that a lot of phones had/have problems with delayed whatsapp notifications. It has nothing to do with maximum power save mode.

I've been in and out of this mode and experienced no change in notifications from any app. I'm betting you are mistaken in your assumption.

I have the same issue
Maybe it doesn't affect all phones but after maximum power saving mode I get zero push notifications

Restarting phone helps I think.

possible solution
probably this is a solution, but it is painful
Go to Apps, "reset app preferences"
After that, go to one by one of your apps and setting the "Permissions" again
kindly allow for storage, telephone and contact or you allow all permission.
however need to do it one by one

[BUG] DamageControl 2.05

I would have added this to the thread, but it would get lost in the endless amount of posts that come per minute. Disabling SD Card Notifications does not disable them, enabling and disabling again does not disable it either. Even with the volume completely off when you plug in the phone to charge it notifies you via ringtone. Very annoying
If this is how you're doing it, maybe you should keep the first post update with verified bugs and there fixes (if there is one) as they are reported. This way damaged' thread will be less cluttered and people won't have to wade through hundreds of pages of posts to find something.
good idea but don't forget... SEARCH = WADE RELIEF
Mine works just fine. I dont get a ringtone when I plug my phone in and the volume is off...
Im sorry, but my trackball is still intermitent. I thought it was supposed to be fixed?
And my broswer hangs on the last leg, even though the page is fully loaded, I have to press stop.

Its light sensitive? Hm...didnt know that. Could very well be my issue, is there a way to turn it off? I liked in 1.5 how it came on by just moving it. Let me know my phone was responding and just....brought a sense of comfort I can never explain. I guess maybe being jealous over it whilst having the g1.
Another issue I am having is at the lock screen. Before this update if my phone was locked, you press the power key and then either swipe your screen down, or press menu to unlock. Now whenever I press menu, it unlocks but automatically pulls up the menu on the home screen. Not a huge issue and definitely not complaining, just wanted to let you know.
has anyone else had the issue where you answer an incoming call and there is no sound on your end or their end. and the only fix is to restart your phone?. it is very annoying. i found this in testing but it stopped. now its starting up again today
Bump
I know i annoy you all with my trackball b!tching, cause its no big deal to anyone else, but to me, I could live with all the original bugs if the trackball was constant.
Also, friendstream? I didnt see it in the rom, and cant find it, and idek if it works in damages latest release.
Total noob question, but the only reason im interested in friendstream is because, to be honest, idek what it IS. Link fb, ms, and twitter tkgether right?
I'm having trouble with VVM, when you call and vm answers it asks for the number your calling and the # and then says it doesn't recognize try again.......I tried google voice but it won't even go to VM at all......

[Q] Faulty mute toggle?

Hi everyone
Re-posting this from the general section (posted on there by mistake, was still half asleep lol, sorry)
Just got the xperia z yesterday (after my previous lg 4x was stolen... grrr... may the thief get permanent bursting hemorroids...) and I noticed a weird thing.
The mute/vibrate/sound toggle in the notification bar does not seem to work, and the same goes for the one in the popup shown by pressing the power button for a couple seconds.
Details: the mute or vibrate icon appears on the notification bar, but if I check the volumes in settings, they're still all on, and if I receive a call or get a notification or whatever, the phone actually rings despite the supposedly muted state.
All this doesn't happen if I "manually" turn the volume off with the volume buttons or via settings: in that case the vibrate icon appears and the phone actually does not ring.
Has anyone experienced anything similar?
All good here dude. Hope you get it fixed. Have you tried turning phone off and on again? That usualy fixes small.glitches.

Yep, already tried that of course, as well as uninstalling the one widget I have that interacts with volumes, just to be sure it was not some weird conflict (and of course it wasn't)
Not a biggie actually, as I can turn it down manually or by said widget, but I hope I'll figure it out anyway if only for the sake of understanding the source of the issue
Yep I understand that. Annoys me when I cant get something working lile its ment to.

I have a problem with the toggle in the notification bar and the power off menu. System settings show me notifications and ringtones are off, but the phone still has audible, unmuted notification sounds. Really annoying.

Actually, I could try a factory reset just to be sure, but I admit I'm kind of too lazy to set my stuff up again from scratch only to try and fix that small glitch

Heard about it, but haven't read the whole thing yet (yep, still being lazy)
Jokes apart, I was planning to leave it 100% stock for at least a little while to see how the battery behaves without even the slightest piece of modding (got the phone only last friday, today has been the first real "field test" for the battery and so far I'm pretty positively impressed)
Well I have already removes/frozen a bucketload of apps happy bunny, I am. Now I only need to figure out which app does what so I don't kill something and make my phone less usable.

lol I removed a few apps too, but luckily for me they were uninstallable without root or anything.
I also disabled a few more through the stock apps management, for the time being it's sufficient for my taste

Yes, having the same problem as well with mine. But it has been the same problem since I had ICS on my Xperia Arc S, then Xperia V and now this when I use the toggle in the notification bar or any other toggle aside from toggling it manually via setting. Very irritating since it has never and probably will never be fixed due to the fact that it's a cross-model issue. Chances are, those who say they don't have this problem already has it but don't know it yet or will get it eventually. Sony needs to iron this out once and for all

[Q] MyXperia stopping Stamina Mode?

I got a notification earlier saying something about MyXperia stopping STAMINA mode, but not all of the text was visible. But when I clicked on it to find out what it was going on about, it just opened MyXperia settings. I don't know if it is affecting stamina mode, and moreover I think it is, because I'm getting WIFI push notifications that I wouldn't if my wifi was off when my screen is off.

Are you sure that was all that was said? Maybe it was something alongside those lines: "[app_name] is preventing STAMINA mode from saving power in standby."? Some apps need constant wifi connection to pull data so that you are always up to date which kinda kills the purpose of stamina but stamina should overrule them. I suggest you use Greenify, it goes well with stamina.
If the "error" you got is same as i quoted, I also encountered it. After that i forced stopped the app at fault, waited - didnt get the error. After a reset i also didnt get the error. I just assumed that was a one time thing.
Does the thing you describe happen often or did you see it once?

Yeah it was exactly as you described,
Yeah I also Force Stopped my xperia, and turned it off too, and it seems to be fine now. I wouldn't mind being able to turn it back on but with Android Device Manager doing the same thing, I'm a little more okay with it.

What do you mean? Im afraid I dont follow. To force stop means to kill an app thus i dont understand what did you kill exactly? Do you mean you reset your phone or...?

Help! Screen does not turn off

Hello,
I have a problem and I want to ask if somebody may have had it too. My screen sometimes with no apparent reason does not turn off after the one minute I had set in display settings, it does not turn off at all when I am not using it, It goes off if i press the power button but not by itself, and the problem goes away if I reboot my device but then it happens again (not so often)... Do you guys know what it is?
Does this happen when the device is perfectly still....or when it's being vibrated...like in a car. Could be staying on cause it thinks you're using it.
Just a guess.

Thanks for the replay . It happens sometimes when it is perfectly still. Never happens to me on a car.
I'm stumped then, sorry. ?
Presuming you don't have an app such as profile scheduler, etc, which will override the settings for what you set the particular profile to, though I would guess most apps wouldn't have a "no screen timeout" setting -and presuming no app such as Screen On which would keep the screen on, but only with apps you select

Note 8 will not stay on vibrate

Has anyone experienced their phone reverting back to ring instead of vibrate? I always have my phone on vibrate but lately it automatically goes to ring. Can someone tell me what's up with this

Check that you havent set it up on a schedules or messed up Do Not Disturb. Theres a built in app that I think called Samsung Connect that allows you to connect to other samsung devices but, also lets you set what happens during certain times of day or when you get home. Like your ring turns down at 7pm or when you get home. Id check that out aswell.
