Can someone explain to me how to use the Optical Zoom?
I've just got the Moment lenses and the mount suggests I can use the second camera, however everytime i've tried to check which lens is in use, I think i'm seeing the primary 2x digital
Help and advice welcomed

The telephoto camera is only used when the scene is bright enough though, otherwise the phone falls back to its main camera with a 2x digital zoom (which gives better results anyway in low-light scenes)
is there a way of checking which camera it is using?
from my checking it never uses it.

Hold your finger over the lens? You will be able to tell which one is being used.

In that case it uses only the main camera all the time.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but on Samsung's page it says its a 2x optical zoom.
It only works on the classic photo mode, not the pro one (which I don't know why)

I have got the HTC One from the end of May. But I still have some questions on my phone's "UltraPixels" Camera.
I wonder whether this technology is a software adjustment or a hardware settings?
4 MegaPixels should be all right for daily usage, but I always like to pinch to zoom my photos while browsing.
HTC One failed to reveal some details in the picture comparing to Samsung GS4 or Sony Xperia Z. I want to ask if it is possible to abandon the UltraPixels technology to boost the camera resolution to 8MP or even 13MP? Any app can do it?
Attaching my photo taken using ultraPixel HTC One at Hong Kong IFC Centre!

No.
Lol... I want what he's smoking
I want to make my 4 cylinder into a v8
Sent from my HTC One using xda premium
I believe it's hardcoded into the sensor that it only uses 4 mp for the image, while the rest of the pixels on the sensor used solely for exposure and gathering light

The phone only has 4 megapixels
They are larger than your regular phone megapixels, there isn't separate sensors for gathering light since that's how all camera work in the first place.
So to the OP, no.. Do some research on how these things work. Really.

You need to learn how to take pictures with the One because the pictures you have posted are terrible quality and the first is washed out. You're always best to focus on the sky and underexpose the rest of the shot and then edit in Photoshop or something because the quality of pictures I've taken are way, way, way better than them lol
Hello, got my XZ few days ago and i noticed problem with my camera. When taking pictures with Night Portrait light from the flash enters the picture at the right side as shown here:

}
and
So that's only case with pictures where objects are far from my camera, this is also Night Portrait but with object nearer camera, looks like there isnt that light from the flash at the right of the picture.
Anyone else has the same problem? Is this normal?
If you have a cover, take it off and try again
If not, then I don't know
Yes, i do have, but it's same when cover is off. :/

Q1) Do you have screen protector for the back? if yes, go to Q2 else go to Q3
Q2) Does your back screen protector have a opening for the LED flash too? if yes, go to Q3 if no, then it is because since there is no opening for the LED flash, means that the flash is reflected by the screen protect to the camera....
Q3) Is your finger very near to the camera? This could cause the light to reflect back to the camera as well... Else i am not sure...

I hate my SP's camera. Picture looks ridiculous when i zoom any picture that taken from my SP.
Now feeling jealous to see a lot of sample image captured from SP. Like, check this thread- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2755010
Can anyone please tell me how can i fix that issue or improve camera quality, currently i'm using eXistenz Ultra 3.3.0 ROM & Xperia M Camera Mod by niaboc79.
I use manual mode to take that image on below, please zoom in this photo to see how Ridiculous that is-
To check full resolution image follow this- http://www.arif-khan.net/xda/sample.JPG

I know optical zoom is better rather than digital zoom.
Check this(taken from my phone)- http://www.arif-khan.net/xda/sample.JPG
& also this(taken from another SP)- http://www.arif-khan.net/xda/DSC_0811.jpg
Check quality, Zoom-in etc you can feel the difference.
But is it the phone or the rom?
Could try this Xperia M cam port by dipesh, to see whether any difference..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2701096
Seems like having better focus than stock.. one problem though: FC when manually setting iso.
Better keep a cwm backup if you're gonna try this.. I don't know whether it works on existenz rom.

Yup.. That's niaboc79's port. I feel like focusing is lil different with dipesh's port.. idk, I'm no pro in imaging
The stock app on my S10e does not appear to have a white balance option for the front facing camera, and it doesn't automatically choose it correctly. GCam always creates superior results.
I can't imagine Samsung app devs would let their app be so terrible with selfies. Does anyone else have the same experience? Is there a feedback channel we can tell them?
Like I said on another thread why do you guys feel the need to have and use a front facing camera to take pics of yourself. I'm trying to understand is it a narsasiscic thing going on in this day and age or what?do people fancy themselves that much? not talking about you op or anyome here in particular so no disrespect intended. Just want to understand this need for front facing cameras. I love the s10 plus but the ugly 2 cameras on the front are stopping me from enjoying.and I'm not in love with myself to take selfies and admire my self all day.so the front camera ruins the phone for me a bit

People have always been taking pictures of others, and some have noticed that the cameraman has been missing for centuries.
Now we have a tool in our pockets to take a picture of everyone at once, in an instant. The S10 has a wider lens for even more people.
Every game night, I take a selfie with everyone using the GCam app in portrait mode. When I have a special moment with my wife, its easy to get a photo of us together. It's kind of ridiculous looking back at photos from years ago to know I was a participant, but no where to be seen, not a single photo of me interacting with others.
I took advantage of a sale at Office Depot for canvas prints, and made a collage of a year's worth of selfies:

Zoom test. I think this was around 25-35x zoom.
"Sports mode" test. Colors are wonky, but still impressive.
Low light test
And a few more:
Guys, could you please share some more pictures (especially night ones and made outside)? I hesitate to upgrade my x70 pro plus or not.
Playing around with some filters
One more!

One is indoor extremely dark room..
Went to the zoo recently, these 2 photo's came out great (if you ask me)
Some of my snaps, including zoom lens testing and raw photos.
Vivo x90pp
88 new items added to shared album
photos.app.goo.gl
Here you go, some beauty of my country
Guys, who has both x90 pro plus and x70 pro plus on hand? if someone has both devices, please post full-size night photos for comparison (preferably taken outdoors, not indoors). I just can not decide whether it is worth updating to the 90th. For me, only the camera is important, other aspects (display, processor, battery do not matter). Thanks in advance.

not enough sharpness!
Taken with gcam
First three are main lens, 2x and 3,5x tele lens.
Not bad..
This is my picture of yesterday's moon
I love how the supermoon mode captures the moon when not zoomed in .
