Quad DAC stops working and starts working again on reboot - LG V40 Questions & Answers

Randomly, the DAC would stop processing and wouldn't work until I reboot. On a reboot everything works as expected.

[Q] Does your note crash after unplugging headphones?

Hi,
My note has always crashed here on LC1 or LC2. The problem seems to have something to do with the headphone port. If I unplug the headphones while music is playing the phone will pause the music.
Often it won't pause the music after the audio cable is unplugged and about 10-15 seconds after, the whole phone will crash and play the Samsung boot up chime.
Does anyone experience / know why this phone in particular seems to crash and reboot to the Samsung boot up chime?

Random reboots using Bluetooth

I had an issue with a New Potato Tunelink and choppy audio (I have a thread in here somewhere).
I bought a Kinivo BTC450 Bluetooth Hands-Free Car Kit and it does not suffer from the same audio problems, it sounds great... when my phone isn't rebooting.
The only time my phone reboots is in the car. I've disabled Active thinking it might have something to do with that, but no. If I turn off BT the phone doesn't reboot. There is something with my VZW MX and this Kinivo paired together that creates a situation where it unexpected and randomly reboots.
This morning it rebooted almost immediately after connecting. Sometimes I can manipulate the controls, pick a song and start playing it and it will reboot shortly thereafter. Other times it won't reboot and will start working until I go to skip to a song or something. There is no pattern other than BT and this phone hate eachother.
It's frustrating because I don't know when it will reboot. There are no options that I can see to try at this point other than look for something else or plug a stereo miniplug into the MX, which I'm not a fan of doing.
I've not done a factory reset due to the time and inconvenience of getting it all setup again. I've not tried to have VZW replace it.
Any ideas?
Well, a factory reset did not fix this problem.

I've experienced the same thing, but only twice and I connect to bluetooth multiple times per day in both the car and a standalone headset. I can't see any pattern, but it would certainly be nice to know how to prevent it.
I was having trouble with random reboots and I think it was the Updater app running in the background that may have been causing it. I saw that app running, went to Settings and checked for updates (obviously no updates yet). Ever since then, no random reboots. I use Bluetooth every day with a headset and Car audio device. BT working way better than any CM ROM I ran on prior devices.

Audio jack frying Earpads?

Hello guys,
Seems like my N6 started to fry earpads, already lost 2 pair, one was completely new and after i connected it the second time, it started working bad.
The speakers i connect, shut down and i have to reconnect power. after few attempts it connects well.
Also, when connecting earpads, it always recognizes as an aux device.
But when i connect speakers, i must insert it realy realy slow, and before getting to the end, get the icon as for connected Aux device, and then push all the way in (takes about 5-10 attempts and overall atleast half a minute or a minute to connect), which is weird, beacause it works, it just doesn't recognize any speakers as an Aux device so easily, and earpads are recognized just fine?

Microphone...

So, I have a rooted 3T running FreedomOS and for whatever reason my microphone will work after bootup, but 5 minutes later it won't, and when the microphone stops working so does the headphones detection, and I have to restart the phone to get any functionality out of it...
Thank You

Same here 8.0 Update 18 for 3T. Samsung /AKG earphones mic does not work, my Beats Pro - mic for phone works though.

Mi 9T Pro microphone stops working

My phone's microphone stops working a few minutes after starting the device. You can talk normally, but after a while the microphone stops working and you cannot hear the interlocutor in the handset. Restarting the phone helps, but after a few minutes the same thing happens. I have already tried to downgrade to Miui 11, tested different ROMs, but the same thing happens in all of them. In addition, when I connect the headphones to the mini jack port after the microphone stops working, I hear a continuous noise and the phone does not detect the headphones. I have already checked the main and top microphones in the CIT and after starting the device it works normally and shows the volume level correctly, but after they stop working, the meter shows 0 all the time and does not respond to the sound.
The strangest thing is that the phone worked fine after purchase. Problems started happening after upgrading to Miui 12.5
Is it hardware or firmware damage? Do you have any idea how this could be fixed? I was thinking about buying a USB board with a microphone and replacing it, but if there is a problem with the firmware, there is no point in disassembling the phone.
