SM-N9200 models suitability to use in Australia (with the Telstra network)?

Hi Everyone,
I have just attempted to purchase a Samsung Galaxy Note 5 SM-N920C from an online shop which advertised the phone as being suitable for use in Australia. The shop does not currently have any stock and has instead offered to sell me the SM-N9200.
Since receiving this news from the shop I have performed some research and have come to realise that the SM-N920C is for Afghanistan rather than Australia (though in all reality it may work fine in Australia!).
My question is "Will the SM-N9200 work fine in Australia?". I am specifically interested in it's suitability for use with the Telstra network; I have two Telstra numbers which I intend on using with the phone - which is the dual SIM variant.
Furthermore given that the phone is from China will it have all of the standard Google functionality, Google Apps, etc. Finally will the interface be in English?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Pretty sure the phone supports the correct radio bands for Telstra.

EDIT: If the phone is from China it will NOT have GAPPS installed but if it is from Hong Kong it WILL. Yes you can change to English.

Change firmware version to different country

Hi folks,
Back after a while ... I was in the Middle east and had purchased the Note 5 (SM-N920C) that had the United Arab Emirates (XSG) version of firmware. I had leave the Middle East recently and have moved to India. Back here in India, I find that:
a) I'm tied to a UAE version of Samsung Pay
b) I cannot access apps available only for India (YouTube Go for example)
In an effort to sort my problem I'm considering switching firmware. Do you think this is possible? A quick search reveals that I may not be in luck but I thought I might as well ask and have my fear confirmed

Samsung Pay on Note 8 N950FD

Hi all,
I'm finally moving from an iPhone to Samsung and have ordered an international, Dual-SIM version of the Note 8 from an Irish seller. The phone is unlocked and I plan to use it in the UK, however I've been reading on these forums about region locks prevent the use of Samsung Pay.
I plan to use it in UK, so could this be a problem and would I need to flash UK firmware onto it? Or will it work fine?

Note 9 SM-N960FD with UK Firmware?

This is an international version, and from what I can tell, it's the 5th one down on this list, techwalls. com/samsung-galaxy-note-9-sm-n960-model-number-differences/ the SM-N960FD Duos, for Asia, India, and Singapore.
I live in the UK, and am looking to flash this with UK firmware so I can use samsung pay, and to avoid other annoyances. Can someone tell me if this would work? When finding the firmware on sammobile, when it says type 'my model number,' will the SM-N960F work? It doesn't get anymore specific in terms of SM-N960F**** etc.
I use BT mobile which uses EE networks. Would it be best to flash the EE version?

I paid £700 for a brand new condition (charged once) N960F on Ebay. For the tiny saving, I'd just get a proper UK phone.

Just get it, you don't need to flash anything, the N960f works in the UK no different to one bought from a UK retailer, there's already several threads about this. I've been using the N960f for over a week now, flashing any firmware to it isn't going to change anything, needlessly flashing anything on any device is only opening you up to more risks.
From what I gather, the N960F IS the UK version, if you look at all the variants there's no UK spwcific one at all, so I'm pretty certain the global variant is what is on sale in the UK, all other variants are USA and Asian.

Get it from Samsung UK, if ever you need warranty you wish you had. And you can get a good trade in. Pick up a cgwap note 3 and get £200 trade in value. Join the upgrade program get 24 months interest fee credit too

A few issues with my Note 9 N9600 from HK

Hi. I have recently purchased a new Note 9 N9600 from an eBay seller in Hong Kong.
There are a few of issues:
1. Coming from a Note 8, the display on the Note 9 seems to be quite blue in comparison. Where whites appeared to be slightly warmer on the Note 8, it is noticeably more blue on the Note 9. Is this normal?
2. Despite setting the language to English during intial setup after first boot, there is still a lot of chinese on throughout the UI. Is there a way to set everything to english?
3. Despite being the same keyboard app, the keyboard layout is totally different to my Note 8. Is there a way to change the layout?

Turn off blue light filter two finger swipe down you will see it there and if you go to settings then screen mode you can change the cool and warm!
Have you tried going into settings general management, language and input, Language to download USA OR UK or where ever you are to set it to that?
Keyboard is in the same spot as language and input select keyboard from there!

I can confirm that the keyboard on the HK N9600 is slightly different to other Note 9s.
When you switch to symbols, the keyboard looks more like a T9 dialpad. No way to change that.
I solved this issue by flashing to the southamerican firmware (Brazil for example).
There are other minor differences in the HK firmware as well, for example you cannot change the sort order for your contacts in the phone or contacts app (first name, last name)
Also resolved by flashing it to south american firmware.
And there are also still bits of Chinese, for example in Bixby or Bixby vision. The language there seems to be connected to the CSC of the phone.
Since there is no pure English variant firmware for the N9600, I have only managed to change the Chinese parts to Spanish with the south American firmware.

I didn't have the problems you outline with my 9600. English is still a national language in Hong Kong, on first booting, two language options given were Cantonese or English. Selected English and it's perfect.
Maybe it's not a HK version, but a mainland China version?

I also have the N9600 HK version (CSC TGY).
Some things remain in Chinese for example some parts of Bixby, or Bixby vision suggestions.

The information that I described in the first post is feedback that my brother gave me but I haven't seen it myself.
At this stage, I can't confirm whether the Note 9 that he has is a HK variant or a Chinese mainland variant. How can I check this?
The Hong Kong based eBay seller that I bought the phone from is shipping what they call "Global variants" of every phone that they sell, or at least the next best option if there is no global variant. Meaning that in terms of bands and region specific firmware, they try to select the version that is as "Global" as possible. In this case, since I asked for an N9600 (because I wanted Snapdragon), I believe they shipped the HK variant.
My brother did inform me this morning that he thinks he managed to change all the language settings to English but his keyboard layout is still different from his Note 8. (I don't know how it differs because I haven't seen it yet)
Other than that. He thinks that the phone seems to be quite normal. (Comparing to the experience he had with his Global Note 8 with Exynos SoC)

Can anyone tell me, what are the differences between the HK N9600 and the Global N960FD? (I tried searching around but the answer is not clear. )
Does the N9600 have fewer features or reduced functionality compared to N960FD? (I saw in another thread that someone mentioned lack of VoLTE on N9600. Anything else?)
I didn't do extensive research before ordering the N9600 but I had read that the Snapdragon variant has better battery life and slightly better performance this year than the Exynos variants. these are the only reasons why I chose the N9600.
I am not concerned about rooting options and assumed that otherwise, the Note 9 variants are all much the same.
