Hi!
Small question: what do you think of the strength of the original protective film already laid?
Barely 2 weeks of use and protected by more a cover "sock" ... I already have several micro scratches !
Same case in some?
Thanks a +

I carry my phone in my pocket and so far I can't see any marks at all.
Actually pretty good for free OEM one...
I have some light scratches. These were caused by the samsung led cover case. I did not remove the little plastic sticker over the magnet embedded in the cover case. The sticker is only there to inform the user that there is a magnet in the cover , anyway this bit of plastic has rubbed against the the plastic screen protector and left some light scratches
Mine is now full of scratches after about 1 Month of usage
I have the original screen protector still on and use a Spigen transparent case (the thinest one). No scratches anywhere that I can see and all is holding up well. Since the last update of the fingerprint software 2 days ago - working also very well
Get a good protective case with elevated edges to protect the screen from falls, don't put the phone with the screen side on tables and other surfaces, and you don't need this crappy screen protector.. Mine got scratched very easily in two weeks time and did not like seeing that..
The screen of the s10 is very good, tolerating scratches from keys and other sharp objects.. The same screen in my old s8 never got scratched in 2 years
I'm well over 30 days of ownership and the factory protector looks good. 9/10. My phone is always placed in a sleeve, never directly into a pocket.

Same here. I don't get why so many have scratches on theirs. They must be handling it differently.
a few small dings, but not too noticeable, i do carry it in my pocket with spare change/key somethings tho
for an free screen protector, it's pretty amazing
Took mine off, screen is a delight without it

I took it off on the 2nd day. I did the same with the pre-installed one on the OnePlus 6T. The edges bothered me cause always ran my finger across it while scrolling and it is very annoying

Hi, I've bought recently this phone and wanted a sturdy screen, preferably a glass tempered one but I've got no idea what brands to go for or if those that you can buy cheap on ebay are enough. I'm a bit clumsy so the possiblity of it slipping out of my hand by accident and falling on its screen is there. If anyone can give some input based on experiences, that'd be great.
Cheap plastic ones from amazon always seem to work fine on all my devices.. When they get scratched I have no issues throwing on a new one.
They are cheap but keep the screen flawless

hi, i am using nillkin H+, i bought it from amazon
Things i liked in this Nillkin :
1) my friends tempered glasses catches scratches, fades after long time use (4 months) and makes screen unusable in rain, but as nillkin is having real nano coating it helps me to operate my phone even in rain with out much problem
2) i bought a tempered glass before worth 270inr from ebay it was good to look, but when i was about to remove it as its not having Nano coating on it, then i observed that it cracked and formed small powder fragments on edges when i tried to remove it with hard plastic :silly:
later i installed nillkin, had to remove this also as i didnt manage to fit it perfectly on my screen.. i used the same hard plastic, this time Nillkin tempered didnt break nor atleast formed any tiny fragments, i lifted it and set again with out any problem
these are my observing on my tempered glass
I bought a tempered glass one for around $3 on eBay, haven't gotten it yet. I don't know if the more expensive ones are better, but better can mean 2 things. Either that it's stronger, so won't break easily; or that it protects the phone better. I doubt one will protect the phone more than the other.

I do the same thing. No problems yet.
I bought a nillkin H+ but removed it after a while because the phone screen is much less oleophobic. With the screen protector on, the fingerprints were extremely annoying, at least on my sample.
So can anyone recommend a really good high quality glass screen protector without flaws? If there is none then i'll order motorola official flip shell...

The $3 ones on eBay don't have flaws. I have one and I know other people who have them, no one has any problems with them. Just first learn how to put it on so you don't break it.

Undersized
I bought a tempered glass one from an online (no brand). It's undersized, about 1.5mm all around. Probably useful to allow a case to grip the front edge, but the description didn't say so. I feel cheated, but for the price it'll do.
My previous tempered glass ones (branded) were excellent protection, and felt better on my finger than the plastic ones.
[edit] I forgot to say, the shape is one with cut-out north of the top speaker, rather than the others I've seen with speaker hole.
Moto G Premium Quality Screen Protector is Anti Glare Matte edition in my recommendation.
it Protects your device from scratches & dust. Easy to Apply , Fits perfectly and requires no cutting. Comes with a cleaning cloth and application card. Easily removable with no sticky residue or marks
Tempered glass screen protector from amazon
I've been using a SPARIN tempered glass screen protector since I got my moto g in August. (It's about $8 on amazon; unfortunately I can't post a link, but it should be easy to find)
I've managed to crack it in at least 8 places (my phone falls a lot), but it hasn't picked up any scratches yet, and it's protected the actual glass underneath. If you're even a little proficient at holding things, it should be fine.
Snakehive protector
I've only had it a few days, but I bought a Snakehive tempered glass protector for my new G3, from their Amazon store. Very pleased so far. It has cutouts for the mouthpiece at the bottom and for the earpiece, light sensor and camera at the top, although at the top it doesn't surround them for some reason, but that's only a couple of milimetres uncovered. It was a breeze to put on when compared to film protectors. I laid it over the mouthpiece and it simply eased itself into place over the rest of the screen. Seems a bargain at the current £3.95.
I'm wanting to get the flip down case from Snakehive too, assuming they get more stock in.

First day of smartphone, yes good idea to have a screen protection. But now with gorilla glass, useless.
It's my point of view.

I used and have a Mr shield or something like that from Amazon super easy too install i've had no bubbles when placing it on the phone also bought a case where there was enough space that should it fall on the screen side it's not touching the floor I've dropped my phone about 5 times over the course of a year. Took off the case and replaced the screen protector and it still looks like brand new minus where I've blindly inserted the USB cord.
10 days to 1 year since i purchased the device . never used any screen protector and been 8 month since i didnt use any case either.

my phone has some minor scuffs and little bend on bottom right corner but thats coz the phone fell from above 5 feet . must say the build quality is very solid
Honestly, you just don't need them these days. Had my G3 6 months, not a single scratch and I am hardly careful with it, gets thrown in pocket with keys and lose change, and dropped often because I am clumsy. Plenty of dents along the bezel but screen as good as new.
Hi!
I am planning not to use any protective case/covers etc. accessories for my phone. Is it bad idea? Will Samsung S7 edge look like crap soon or it is scratch resistant and will keep nice look even after few months?
How does your phone looks like now after not using any protective covers? Could you post pictures and aprox time of usage?
Thank you, deff_ins
2 months - no protection , I'm carrying it in a pocket without other things like money or keys . No scratches at all , only fingerprints all over
Im a diehard screenprotector and case guy. Since I had been having so many problems finding a curved protector that sticks, and the ones that dont cover the edge looked like crap, I decided 2 months ago to go without a protector. I have a case that shows the edges well, and covers the frame nice.
After two months I finally have a 1/2 inch scratch on the face...nothing too bad and I will live with it...not sure how it happened but the glass has held up pretty well considering I am not a desk guy and am always using and doing things with my phone outside.
Overall Im surprised the glass has done well. That being said, and now that I have a scratch, I will be looking to get a protector again.

Well, good luck with living dangerously. I have my S7 Edge with the LED cover now for 8 months. During that time I dropped it 3 times. The first time the screen and digitizer were broken. The display replacement cost me Euro 260. 10 days after the repair, it dropped out of my pocket again. Invariably, it always lands on the screen because the LED cover flips open when it falls. Display glass cracked but digitizer still intact. After the first accident I had ordered a tampered glass screen protector from Hongkong. It arrived only 2,5 months later. When I finally got it and tried to fit it, half the display was unresponsive. When I tried to remove the glass protector the phone slipped out of my hand and dropped on the tiled kitchen floor. Guess what happened. Part of the display AND the glass protector shattered. The lucky part is, the upper right corner of the display which was cracked before got shattered. The display is still useable. I actally got used to the broken display. My hope is that in the new year the price for a new display might come down a bit. As I'm not planning to buy another expensive phone anytime soon, a second display replacement is probably the cheapest option.
Bottomline: Yes the S7E is a bloody fragile phone! Depending on the individual clumsiness, it is virtually impossible to assume that you will never drop it over an extended period. If you want to have solid protection you have to go for these hideous army style covers but they make the phone look like a monsterous thing. I like covers with functionality like the LED or S View covers but they only protect the edges and backside of the phone.
The Bottomline of the bottomline: Maybe I shouldn't have bought such an expensive and fragile phone in the first place. End of story. Cheers LJ
Back near camera cracked on mine even though I've never dropped it, had to put a skin on it to hide the crack. Also it has a mark on the main screen, suspect coinage in my pocket done that
Never used a case, I've had mine since two weeks after the release. I always carry it in my pocket with my keys and other stuff. Dropped it only once, no scratches cracks or any other damage.
Been using Carol Blue for 2 months. I slapped a dbrand skin on the back the 1st week so I can use it naked and not worry about back glass scratches.
At office and work, I go naked. Out and about, I put on spigen rugged case. Very easy to put on and off and slim enough and plenty protection.
The front screen now has few minor scratches on it. No idea how that happened. I'm very careful with my phone.
I just put armorsuit screen protector on it and it works PERFECT. loving the phone and how it feels in the hand. Amazing. I now have dbrand skin on back and screen protector on the front. Totally protected from scratches when going with no case at home and office.
i never ever used a case in my life. it hides the beautiful lines of the device
Take it from someone who has been through the process of having the screen replaced - use protection!
I dropped it on its face, from toilet height (yes, I was on the bog after a long night shift!) and before turning it over I just knew it was bad. You hear 30 seconds of cracking noises as they tear through the display glass slowly whilst you contemplate your stupidity at the 'oh s**t' moment you just found yourself in.
Cost me £50 in excess as I was insured luckily, however with no insurance you're looking at £200 ball park.
I actually had the LED case on at the time. That did naff all in protecting the screen. Flip cases really should have some sort of auto close feature! Might have been enough to save the screen if so!
I always thought about going without anything, but I love the led case to much. I don't know how so many people have broken theirs while also using this case, I've dropped it more times than I can count. Even especially since I typically keep the phone on my lap when driving, so I tend to open the door, stand up, and find it on the asphalt ground.
I still even have the square sticker on the back of my phone. No scratches, no breaks, perfect.
Update : just wanted to update my previous post with this new information. I ordered and received the ArmorSuit screen protector for my S7 Edge. I have never used a wet screen protector before and I have never found an edge screen protector that sticks or works either in the dry form or the tempered glass.
I watched the video on installation. it took me about 10 minutes to put it on. I let it air dry for another 15 minutes then using a hair dryer on low setting I got the sides to easily adhere to the screen. Left it overnight, put on my I-Blason edge case. I have never been so happy as I have with this screen protector on it looks amazing. Edges stick perfectly.
I'm glad to have my screen protected again and the case on ..I just don't think it's worth taking the chance with such an expensive device. I lived on the edge for a few months with nothing on it, but I'm glad I have something back on it now.

I wish I took a picture of the device I just returned. Dropped it and it fell on a rock. Ugly circular crack and a first the phone still functioned but after about a week my screen just went haywire and would only turn on after multiple power on and offs.
It was all bad lol
Do any of you guys use the op3t with no sp? Does it last in a pocket full of keys
I've used mine without a screen protector for a few months now without a problem. Whiles keys shouldn't scratch gorilla glass in theory, it will probably mark up the oleophobic coating on the glass. I would not recommend keeping the phone in the same compartment as keys.

A thin polycarbonate case, this one to be specific.
I've been using one of my OP3T without a screen protector for a few months now and all is well! =) I'm using a case similar to the one above. My latest one came with a free gel case, but I already bought another polycarbonate case and I wouldn't want the gel one anyway cause you can see all the data through it.
I use a film protector after using my 3t for a few weeks very scratched (minor) can notice massively on certain angles .

That is a useful and informative point. It explains why folks (myself included) have noted scratches on Gorilla Glass screens, even though it is supposed be highly scratch resistant.
Personally I've gone back and forth on using a screen protector. Used them religiously for years, having owned smartphones since the old days when most smartphones did not even have Gorilla Glass, and scratches were almost inevitable if you didn't use a protector. Then on my last phone (HTC M8) I actually bought a protector, but didn't get around to putting it on (the appearance of young children in my life having led to massive procrastination of such things!). The screen seemed fine with no protector, and I ended up just leaving it that way. Going on 3 years, and that phone is still fine; although there are some very faint scratches.
On the other hand, my work makes me carry an iPhone (in addition to my personal device). I have an iPhone 6 that got a huge gouge on the GG screen about 2 weeks after receiving it. Admittedly, I don't give a crap about this phone, and often toss the phone in my pocket with keys, in my bag, etc.
So I guess the short story, is that you can go for years without a scratch (as many do). But you can also get a scratch at any time. It's that latter situation, where you end up regretting it, and wish you had a protector. In the end, it's really a judgment call.
My 3T came with a plastic protector already installed. Some folks have reported having a tempered glass protector. I'll probably just leave the plastic one on, until it gets scratched up or peels off (it's already starting to peel away at the corner near the home button), then from there decide if I want to go naked, plastic protector, or a tempered glass one.
Doesnt it come with a screen protector put on already?
I am using the stock plastic screen protector that comes installed. It protects the phone from scratches, so I thing it it very important.
I usually use glass screen protectors because they can save your screen from braking and it is harder to scratch but on the OP3\T it doesn't cover all the screen, and that really annoys me.
Never used a protector on any phone ever. The OP holds up better than most :good: I try to be a bit carefully with keys and such, but I don't really care for scratches. It's a tool, not jewelery...
I use a Spigen neohybrid, but only to hold the metal plate for my car holder. If it weren't for that it'd be completely naked. I also have a dbrand skin on it. But for the looks, not for protection... That stone with red accents is sexy :victory:

Took off the built in one in November and have been using my OnePlus 3T with a spigen rugged armor. Phone, screen, and case are all in excellent condition.
I was using it without any protector... but i got disappointed... As i saw some scratches... i use my phone carefully...
I was previously using Lumia 1020 from past two years... Still using it without any protector... Still no scratches in two years...
Whereas in 3t the scratches appeared within a month...
I have also i used iphone without any protector, iphone also did not had any scratches until i went to a beach for holidays... there i got some scratches due to sands...
I will suggest you guys to use protection. I was using a tempered glass aftr seeing the scratches but was not happy with the quality as it was making the screen seemed to be a bit inside also the bezel and screen had greater contrast so the full tempered glass comes like that, making the phone look cheaper..also while using the home button it was not a not satisfactory due to the level difference of the tempered glass and the button.. removed that and installed old school screen guard... Im Happy now
Hello,
Just wanted to share my experience with tempered glasses on Mi9se.
First I tried this one:
https://www.amazon.fr/gp/product/B07P88H5GC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
It was quite ok, but covered only the screen part which is on, not the bezels.
It cracked when I tried to clean it up so I bought an other one.
As I knew Nillkin's reputation on cases, I bought this one:
https://www.nillkin-case.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=6461
This is the best! Covers very well the screen and bezels, the camera, and even the camera on the back of the phone.
Don't know about the strenght yet, but I definitely recommend it.
Used Nilkin glass for 1.5months now and after 1 month I wake up and find air inside or whatever that I couldn't push out. On the top the air hole appeared as well a week later. The glass cracked in my pocket while sitting whole day in the office lol. My previous glass that I used for 2.5 years didn't get air trapped inside (I had problems applying but after few days of pushing hard it never lost contact with the display)

H+ pro
lol so after seeing I hit dead end and that I can protect this phone I decided to peel this protector off. I was very gentle but immediately after raising it just snapped in half (no sound no nothing just the line that bends extremely easily). Feels very soft stuff like some soft plastic. It's a shame that for few weeks there was no signs of any trapped stuff and later air would get in micro dot that I couldn't get rid off and whole big air gap would reaper shortly after

Good. I just ordered one. Also the H+ pro with curved edges.
It has arrived.
I was able to put it on without any dust nor air beneath. So far so good.
Putting on the camera protection was a bit finicky for me. But I have that on too now, without dust nor air. I needed multiple attempts there. Cleaning that with a wet wipe (both sides) works very well for a restart though. I would probably not do that with the screen protector.

I removed it because i really felt the rims when using the gestures from the sides and bottom.
Didn't notice more brightness.
I haven't removed the screen protector yet, the screen must be really hard I damaged the screen protector the first day.
I put my phone in my pocket whilst removing an ATM (legally) and it's just wrinkled the edge , with no damage to the screen at all!
The only screen protectors I've been tempted to get are on eBay and they are tempered glass privacy ones from China to the UK.
I'll update what they are like.
I removed it because i really felt the rims when using the gestures from the sides and bottom.
I tried 2 types of screen protector.
The first in tempered glass and with curved edges and the second is gel film.
The first is bad because the edges go to touch the cases (which we all use to protect it from falls) causing the uplift of the side edges with consequent loss of touch sensitivity.
The second is much better but it also has the same problems with the covers. I resolved cutting the side edges and the corners of the gel film with a cutter.
I never managed to have a perfect screen protector. You ALWAYS feel the sides of the screen protector when you slide your finger over it (for example to slide from the curved side or from the top to open the notifications). Apparently I'm overly sensitive for that

Put a hydrogel and dont put your case on for 2-3 days. After that you should be able to easily put the case on without any risk of hydrogel uplifting.

Why are u afraid of? Its like a screen protector but more flexible/gummy. Water is used to apply it on the screen.
don't use screen protectors at all they make you screen get worse but IF YOU NEED ONE hydro gel are weak af and don't do jack **** to protect you phone but make the screen look less worse than temped tempered are the opposite more strong but less visability
The case is the display's primary protection*.
It should be slightly raised on the edge above the display and more so on the top/bottom.
I prefer using a wet apply urethane screen protector as the are easy to place, long lasting and inexpensive.
In 2 years of using the Zizo Bolt case and Gorilla IQ Sheild on my Note 10+ there's been zero damage to the phone in spite of a lot of drop onto concrete. Try as you may, eventually they take the plunge... a good case will save them almost everytime at heights of 2-5 feet onto concrete.
*the screen protector's primary role is protection from sand scratches and then marring protection when dropped. A tempered screen may seem strong but it can directly transfer the force of an impact to the display and break it.
Glass is a witchy substance that sometimes seems to defy the laws of physics. Ask any glazier.
Some of the laws of hydraulics apply to glass. Stress on one point may be transposed to another portion of the panel. If a spot is already under stress or has been stressed, it can fracture with only a small insult.

I usually wait a few hours if it's hot, no issues.
Simply reseating it if it breaks away works well as long as no dust reaches it first. A bit of the attachment solution can be also used.
This type of protectors last me 6+ months and remain almost clear even at 6 months.
The display must be completely lint/dust free though. Wet your clean fingers before touching protector during placement.

The easiest way to avoid dust ("ivisible" one as well) on screen is to go to the bathrom and turn on warm water under the shower/in the bathtub and leave it for 15 min with closed door and window (if you have it). Then go to the bathroom with your phone and apply the screen protector. I can guarantee there will be no dust under.
Well if you need a clear screen protector then you can try gadgetshieldz screen protector. I'm using it on my Find X3 Pro for 3 months now and there are no bubble issues and this goes well with a curved screen.
