You can change it using different themes from the Galaxy Store, or use Substratum, even better no need to root and a lot of customization.
Here, you can read it and decide

Thanks decided to go with the built in themes. Good enough.

Hello
I own a Galaxy Tab P7310 since today, Android 3.2 preinstalled.
How can I edit the shortcuts in the Touchwiz UX bar which pops-up when I press the bottom arrow?
If now - how can I get rid of it?
Regards

Unfortunately, you can't edit nor get rid of that quick launch task bar on touchwiz ux ... But you can always root and install custom roms!
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
Yeah, a custom ROM will get rid of the Samsung overlay apps, and usually will also switch the taskbar to plain black.
I do like the overlay apps but I really don't know what they were thinking with the grey taskbar with the little 3D bevel effect there... These bars are supposed to be black to give the appearance of them being an extension to the device's bezel (the Galaxy Nexus does a great job of this), and as such they don't disappear when you play a lot of games and things... It's pretty distracting having a big grey bar down there when trying to play a game. I imagine it'll likely be black when the ICS update comes out.
You could edit the png's in TW to get rid of the grey, but you'd still have the pop up apps

where are the png's located? Bout to root this thing and i assume it has to be rooted to access TW png's correct?
They'll be in framwework_res.apk and TWFramework.apk, some will be .9png's though

I will get to digging...That is about the worst idea to have those apps pop up and not be able to edit which ones are there.. The stock buttons"screenshot ect" always get hit at the most crucial part of a game..lol.
I doubt very much if you'll be able to edit which apps pop up as they aren't just links to the stock apps, evident by the fact they are floating, but you should certainly be able to kill off the pop up button and the screenshot button by editing the xml

Is there a way to hide the status bar icons without Xposed? I've searched, but everything I found involves using Xposed.
Thanks

I've been searching as well. I'd really like to get rid of bluetooth, NFC, and the alarm icon.
Exactly the icons I want to remove.

In the past it was possible by editing some of the framework files to remove the icons completely from the library. Finding them can be somewhat time consuming. I'll look into it ... I've promised I'd look into a couple things and just haven't had time yet, busy time of year at work and the desire to get outside before the true summer heat hits has been strong ... but I will get there.
this thread shows you how to get rid of the NFC icon. I'd guess that others can be removed in the same manner

I'm not sure if there are options for the other icons in the CSC file. On other galaxy devices you needed to literally edit the framework files because the icons were hard-coded in there.
Great find though, CSC tweaks are always helpful and everyone should be able to do them.

There is an app call Notifications Off which I used to use but I haven't tried it yet on this phone. Here is the link if you want to try: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.aboutmycode.NotificationsOff

Yeah, kind of sucks. It hasn't been updated since last year. It used to work great and even allowed different profiles that could be changed with Tasker.
How about hiding the whole status bar? Lol. so you don't see it unless you swipe down. you might need another launcher. Don't know if with touch wiz you can do that.

Touchwiz launcher won't do that but you can do that with a third-party launcher like Nova for example. Another third-party launcher I really like is action launcher 3.
Nova launcher can hide the notification bar. its a great launcher
Dying to get rid of the Verizon in the status bar!

So I know that some progress has been made with Sungstratum (samsung subtratum) in regards to the centering of the clock and a few other things like that, but I haven't read much on changing the NavBar icons without being rooted.. Just curious if this can be done w/o root...? I just came from an LG V20 and there was a whole slough of NavBar icons in substratum, but when I searched this morning I didn't see any..
Thanks in advance!

I guess that would depend on what you are looking for.
If you haven't already, download substratum and give https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-8/themes/theme-statusbar-icons-extras-samsung-t3674792 a try. It doesn't require root and it does in fact change the button icons, choices between the Pixel, Alt Pixel, AOSP and Parapaper icons. If you want to go back to stock, just uninstall the overlayers. I recommend the https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-8/themes/apk-reverting-to-black-navbar-t3679747 if you prefer a dark style of the Nav bar.
If you are looking for something more custom, perhaps someone else has other ideas!

Check the note 8 overlayers thread, there is an AOSP navbar there in post 1
You can use Apkeditor to replace the aosp icons with your own from then on to create your own

Thanks for the tips guys, much appreciated!
I suppose I'll drop that $2 on the samsung substratum integration addon, just wasn't sure if that was needed for everything and I read many individuals who had purchased it were unable to utilize the features.. I did see Venom offered some free ones, so I'll give those a go first and proceed from there until I find what I'm after.. I just like things that are different than stock..

This is the app I used with my V20 and it had a plethora of diff NavBar options to change the three little icons down bottom..

There is an option in Home launcher settings to remove the white circle around the icons.

cheers for that, looked everywhere but the right place, my heads in my ass right now after bricking my phone trying to install Pie using newflash tool, wanted to change my customisation to SG from HK as the latter takes too long, ended in a bootloop and having to wipe the lot with Xperia Companion - some stuff just got lost in the process, 4 months of photos, all my carefully crafted watchfaces, now trying to copy some stuff over and finding that it will only allow me to copy 100 files at a time, don't know if it is Pie or the file manager I am using, will have to look into it when I have time
should have waited for the OTA, had everything running sweet and now back to square one almost, had to reset my AW watch as well, one consolation - when I did the repair it loaded SG Pie so something worked
Hi,
I'm wondering if there is a way to get a stock Android/Pixel like looking notification and quick setting panel/menu for EMUI 9.1 (I just like its simple icon style and the darker background compared to the particularized bright EMUI appearance).
Something like that is what I'm looking for.
I already found some information on launchers etc., but it doesn't seem to affect the panel in the top:
https://blog.en.uptodown.com/simulate-android-stock-huawei-emui
https://theunlockr.com/huawei-p20-stock-android/
This XDA icon pack does not seem to yield the desired results either (regular app icons are changing, not the top panel though).
Thanks for some info
The only way is to use PowerShade.
It creates an overlay on top of the stock notification panel.

We have to wait untill EUMI 9.1 themes will be available. 9.0/9.0.1 themes are not compatible.

Alright, I tried these kind of apps now and it doesn't really seem to be of any convenience. A lot of system permissions have to be set and then it only works for the drop down menu, but not the actual notification panel at the top.
Thanks though!

Sorry but this is all new to me. You mean we just have to wait until a custom made Android-like looking theme pops up in huawei's theme gallery?
I'm not sure if this is what you're after, but I really like this theme, and it gives dark notifications and volume slider...

Yes, right. There is no other way to change it. Some custom themes compatible with emui 9.1 are already on line.
