Hello,
I'm trying to solve multiple issues with the P10, maybe some of you could help with the following?
- How can I disable the sounds when changing the volume up/down? Currently it beeps for each change, and did not find any settings to deactivate it.
- How can I disable the LED completely during charging?
- Can I customize the LED color depending on the notification source (eg whatsapp green, facebook blue, instagram red)?
- How can I show all pictures as a single non-grouped feed in the gallery app? Like "just display all my pictures sorted by date desc". It's often tedious having to remember if the picture I'm looking for was received by whatsapp (and thus having to go into the gallery whatsapp folder) or if I shot it myself.
- Can I "ungroup" notifications? Means, if ebay is sending 3 notifications, I just want to show up all those 3. By default, they are collapsed to one "group" notification. I'd like to disable this and just stack onto each other.
- Can the keyboard be changed to show a single key for Google Voice? Currently the comma key has to be long-pressed in order to bring the voice input on. This is often tricky as the comma key is the shortest of all...
Thanks a lot for your suggestions!

First, I have searched these forums using both Google and its own search engine in an effort to answer my own question. I came across a good number of posts that raised the same question but did not have an offered solution. If I have missed the correct post, please link it.
The question is simply "how do I eliminate the "Notification" bubble that pops up and reminds me that I have unread e-mail AND the "Notification" tab at the bottom of the screen that has to be dismissed before my standard soft-key "Calendar" reappears?"
I have a program that tells me how many unread e-mails I have; I do not need another one. I want the phone to play a sound (if desired) on a incoming e-mail and then just give me the icon that shows the number of unread e-mails. I do not want to see the "Notification" bubble pop up at the bottom of my screen or the remaining/returning "Notification" soft-key on the bottom bar.
I have already gone into the Settings > Sounds & Notifications > Notifications and turned everything off related to e-mail. I have even tried editing the registry, as suggested in another post such as:
______
"...... found this on another site. It may help you..
1. Install a registry editor like Resco File Explorer’s add-on registry editor or PHM registry editor.
2. Open HKEY_CURRENT_USER
3. Tap control panel>notifications
4. Tap default
5. Tap options
6. Choose what value will be applicable to you and replace the default number with it (for XDA Atom, the number was 13, I replaced it with 8 to suit my preference):
0 show icon
1 show icon and play notification sound
2 show icon and vibration
3 show icon and vibration and play notification sound
4 same as 0
5 same as 1
6 same as 3
7 same as 3
8 show icon and notification bubble
9 show icon and play notification sound and show notification bubble
10 show icon and notification bubble and vibration
7. If you want to configure how long the notification bubble will stay on the screen, tap on duration instead of options. Change the number there into the number of seconds you want the notification bubble to stay up."
____________
The foregoing does not work for me - or I may be doing something wrong. Any help would be appreciated.
I have had the same problem no matter what ROM I use. Cannot figure out how to turn off email notification.
How about trying:
Settings
Personal
Sounds & Notifications
Notifications
Messaging: New E-mail Message
& uncheck Display Message on screen.
Thanks GSLEON3 for the suggestion....but as stated in paragragh 4 of my post, I have already tried that and I still get the nuisiance notification. I have also tried editing a few of the suggested registry values (with no luck obviously) and, according to my search of the forums, this is not the first time the question has been asked.
I am confident one of the brainy ROM modders has the answer.......maybe?
it can't be done, the only thing that you can get rid of is the message automatically popping up, which is what the settings change refered to in paragraph 4 does. You will always get the ntoification icon and on the left soft key. Someone would have to hack the resources that tie into tmail.exe (tmail.exe is the app that the mail client uses).

Thanks. Now I can quit worrying about trying to fix it. It is, however, a nuisance.

OK This is way over my pay grade, so who wants a PayPal donation?
I found a way, sort of
Had the same problem until I found this post

Disable SMS received notification
The following setting disable SMS notification and sms recieved icon on screen
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings\SMSAvailable = 0
To enable again
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings\SMSAvailable = 1
The upside is that it gets rid of the bubble, the downside is that is disables all native notification for SMS. I'm using PocketCM, so I still get visual notification, but no sound or vibration.
I have come accross that post as well...unfortunately, it only addresses the issue of how to disable the SMS notification (which other registry tweak apps do as well). I am more interested in disabling the e-mail notification bubble, that has to be "Viewed" or "Dismissed"...............
Thank you (anyway) for the input.
Hi all,
For some reason, my Diamond does not offer me the option of flashing the LED when a new email comes in (it's greyed out). LED would be really useful as it would save having to check the device - just like a Blackberry - any ideas on how to effect this?
Also, I have configured Email to be my "home page" using TF3D-Config (thanks - great util) - but anyone know how to make the Inbox (ie. list of messages) the default screen, rather than the graphical envelope (which doesn't seem to useful). Again - just like Blackberry.
As you guessed I'm using Direct Push with Exchange more than the phone!
Sorry to be requesting help rather than contributing help - but I've only had it a day since I retired my S620!
br/boss
The thing you thing is an LED is actually a light sensor.
New message notifications are done using varying types of white light around the center button. If you take a look at the user manual you will find out more.
There was also a detailed post about it once on here, but I can't for the life of me find it!!
Called it an "LED" as I couldn't think of another term! However - despite the user manual, the option for flashing notifications is greyed out, but strangely not for MMS. This is a Vodafone supplied Diamond, so one wonders whether they've turned email notifications off to encourage more spend on MMS etc... Maybe I'm too skeptical about operators...
Try Advance Config by Boinger66... ( its a sticky )
There you can set the time for all notifications including e-mail..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=406681
So do you not get any of this??
The buttons below the touch screen and the exterior edge of the
Navigation Control which is an LED ring will light up in the following
situations:
Controls Light Behavior
SEND button Light flashes when there is an incoming call.
END button Light stays solid when there is an incoming call.
Navigation Control The LED ring shows a “breathing” white light when the
battery is being charged.
The LED ring shows a solid white light when the battery is
fully charged.
The LED ring flashes a white light once when the battery
level is low and reaches down to about 10%.
The top and bottom parts of the LED ring flashes a white
light twice when there is a new e-mail, voice mail, or
meeting reminder.
A white light goes around the LED ring counterclockwise
twice starting from the top when there is a missed call or
new SMS or MMS message.
In short - no. The light pulses when charging but that's it - so that light itself works, but certainly not for notifications etc. And I'd already tried to install Boinger66's Advance Config but after what is reported as a successful install - there is nothing - no app - zip - and no app visible in "remove programs". As if it never was installed. And any subsequent reinstallation attempt causes "failed to install". I'm now really puzzled... esp. as Boinger66's thread isn't exactly riddled with a basic "app won't install query".

Dis you first install 'Schaps_AdvancedConfig_v2.0.1.0'? (you have to have this installed before you install Boinger66's Advanced Config)
and then 'Advance Config by Boinger66'...
Thanks - that's certainly fixed the app installation issue, and the light now does flash on notifications. Although it doesn't seem reliable. More investigation required by me, probably lots of resets, and maybe it's fixed. Again - many thanks
Is there a way to turn off alerts/alarms coming from the S planner?
I'm planning on using Calengoo.
Won't the alerts double? One coming from S-planner and the other coming from Calengoo?
I cannot turn of the calendars in S planner as Calengoo seems to need it to be able to get calendar data from my google account (I don't want to give Calengoo my login details, thus it is syncing from my Android device which is syncing to my Google Account)
Thanks for what enlightenment you guys can give.
I, too, would love some advice on this issue. Just using Outlook and the S Calendar. What I would like to do is to turn off the spoken notifications but still receive an event notification in the notification bar. And I still want the phone to ring.
What about "Set alarms and notifications" option in s planner options accessible after pressing menu key? I can set "Alarm", "Notification", "Disabled". There is another menu entry for vibration...
Thanks. But the problem with choosing to disable it is that I no longer receive any notification. I would like a notice in the notification bar - I just don't want my notification bar speaking. I tried changing the notification sound volume to zero. That worked to silence notifications about texts (but I still get the vibrate). But my calender still speaks.
Well, I found a fix for my problem, but it won't help the OP. Turns out the phone was in driving mode and that overrode application settings.
Hi guys, i have a notification problem with mi 8..the LED works on 70% of the notifications but 30% does not let me see, I noticed that there is a connection between many notifications and few, when I receive maximum 2/3 most of the time the LED lights up, while I get more than 3 starts not to light up anymore ... it's not always like that, but for many times yes. Obviously I also tried the wipe cache and dalvik, but nothing...same issue with 10.0.6 and last 8.10.25 (xiaomi.eu). On application settings and led notification setting is all "ON", no power saving in these apps. Anyone can help me?
Update:
After several tests I found that the same problem is repeated for the vibration when notifications are received, sometimes it vibrates sometimes not.

I think you are having your first encounter with MIUI's default features. Go to Settings > Installed apps, select the app or apps for which you want to "fix" the notifications for and tap Notifications. From here, select the feature or features you want to receive notification for and how to receive them (Notification light, vibration, etc). When I say features for this, well every app has it's own set of different components to notify you of. For example, Facebook has several options to choose, lets say you only want vibrations and LED for comments and friend requests, you can set those to only provide the notification light or vibrations when you receive them. Gmail on the other hand has few options relating to the types of notifications you receive (since obviously it's only related to email and there are no comments or friend requests on it). Each app has it's own set and you can control what or how you get notifications. If you are still seeing that you are not getting notifications on time or so on, then the default power saving feature may also need adjusting. Go to Settings > Battery & performance > Choose apps and select the app or apps you want to "fix" the notifications for and select the option called "No restrictions". The default setting is useful for saving power, but this also stops certain apps from displaying notifications as soon as you get them (there is a delay which I still don't know if it is random or if it is every hour, few hours or so). Not all apps abuse your battery, but of course some do, such as Facebook which can be annoying if you receive lots of comments, uodates, etc.

es, the problem is that I have already set all this that you tell me, but many times loses the LED notifications / vibration too often. Could you make me a screen of the notifications app installed section of ex. whatsapp (which I always use) so I copy preferences? maybe there are conflicts, if you activate one thing the other does not work well etc. otherwise I do not know what to think ..
I got my Note 9 about five montsh ago and it has several strange issues that I never had on phones that weren't nearly as good. Here are some of the issues (I'd appreciate any help):
1. The ringtones, notifications, and alerts go off on top of each other and also while I'm talking on the phone or have the text application opened. I'm texting someone and they text me and the notification sound will go off though I have the text open. Or notifications and alerts will overlap: a text comes through and while it's notifying me, another text (same or different person) comes through and the notification goes off. Or two emails (same or different email accounts) come in back to back and their notifications will overlap.
2. The ringtones and alerts will suddenly go silent. I often restart my phone when this happens which might fix it for a while but then it's back to doing the same thing. Either the notifications completely go silent (I think it might at least vibrate but I don't remember) or they get quieter than the volume I set them to. Also, sometimes the notifications will simply start working off the media volume rather than the notification volume. I mean, wth.
3. There's a pause or freeze sometimes, like with some text functions (eg. changing individual notifications or opening options for individual text chats).
4. I have seven 'home screens' with widgets rather than just one, but when my phone starts up, it starts on one of the screens and not on my actual (main) home screen. No idea why.
