Hi, I had a samsung s8+ and just got a new huawei p30 pro, used the phone clone software to transfer my files, that mostly went well, eveb though it said 100% transfered there was a good few apps that didn't seem to transfer onto my new phone.
anyway, since starting to use it properly, i am getting notifications for things like texts, but i havn't has any game notifications yet, i am still getting thm on my s8+ though but i have turned that off now anyway but they were still coming through.
I did notice a couple of apps have mentioned about a battery setting that restricts background data but from what i can see they all seem unrestricted.
also, i keep having to manually set the brightness of the phone and turn auto brightness off, then the next thing the screen looks really dark again, i check and its gone back to auto brightness?
any idea about these issues?
thanks
James

I have been on Marshmallow since the official release this past Friday. I am no rooted, never was on this phone. Phone is completely OE.
I have noticed a few issues and gripes.
1) No more volume control for just notifications. They are now controlled in with the ringer volume. To me, that sucks.
2) Smartlock is not working properly. I have to enter my password to unlock my phone 80% of the time in locations where it should be unlocked. (Home and work)
3) Where are the Doze settings?? I have looked all over for Doze and do not see it. Did T-Mobile decide not to include it?
4) I will find out for sure tonight, but when my battery got low the last 2 days, I lost LTE, was on 2G, and no wifi calling. Basically I had a phone that worked but was a paperweight. I do know there was an outage last night, I am hoping thats all it was, but I do notice my phone running slower and harder connections at lower battery levels.
4) Apps just stop working. I have to clear out my recent apps, and reboot my phone to get apps to work. Chrome wont load pages, Facebook wont load more than 20 (est) updates, news apps (local and CNN) wont refresh or load.
If anyone has had the same issues or maybe a fix, please help! Thanks in advance.

since the news of the m10 and the last update my m9 barely functions crashes all the time have reinstalled the rom from the ruu file from htc no it's never been rooted i've replaced the battery when it crashes it has to be pluged in to power on ALL my settings are lost and apps won't function. i've gotten notices not pushes thats google exchange wont function as well as some other apps have restarted in safe mode no difference only thing i can do to stop the notices is turn off the data functions wifi and data. any thoughts
This has been happening randomly for a few months. I can go days when notifications are fine and they come through on my phone immediately. Then, for no reason, there are days when no notification show at all until I wake my phone.
They're clearly being blocked and my phone only attempts to pull them in when I wake it. Like a doze setting
It all started around the time Marshmallow 6.01 landed on the phone.
All battery saving optimisation settings are off.
All notifications are set to on.
I have tried EVERY app that I can find to set the Google heartbeat interval to a lower time. None solve the issue.
Factory reset doesn't fix it.
I have (always on) fiber internet so idle timeout settings on the router cannot be to blame for killing the Google heartbeat check.
I have tried it on mobile data only and it is the same
Other people online have had the same issues on other Samsung devices but I can't find anyone suffering from this on the Note 5.
Could it be an issue (somehow) with my Google account, since all notifications have to be pushed through this?
Worried that if I get a new phone I'll still have the same issue.
Any help would be appreciated.
are u using greenify??? what android u have 6.0.1 ??? did u try on smart manager / battery / to not optimize app u want get notification????
N920c/64g/cc n7 port v3/ arise sound/ doulby /xposed greenify+powernap+amplify
Not got Greenify.
Not enabled any power saving at all.
All apps are set to notify
Either the phone is blocking notifications randomly, or my Google account is.
Got my moto g6 amazon exclusive model a few days ago. I started to notice while the phone was just sitting on my desk and gone to sleep / doze? my notifications were not coming through (around 5-10 mins after screen off). Any notifications within that time would be fine. After that if I had any new notifications, I would get them all in one go after I turned the screen on or moved my phone with moto display. (I turned off the motion sensor feature)
Just trying to get an understanding of whats going on. I have played around with some settings and currently seem to have got it back to normal by setting all my important apps (gmail/whatsapp/twitter...) to not be battery optimised. I also found some notification setting elsewhere that gave the default launcher permissions. I used nova launcher so I gave that permission too just in case, but I think the main fix was battery optimisation.
Just find it odd that I have never had to go into battery optimisation before on my previous phones (nexus 4, wileyfox swift) and notifications have come through fine after long periods of time in sleep mode.
Anyone able to suggest something else that may be causing this, or I could try. I wouldnt have noticed this problem if it wasnt for being at my PC and seeing new emails/fb messages coming in and not getting notification on my phone after the phone had gone into sleep.
-------------
As of typing this I recieved an email that also did not notify on my phone. Only when I picked up the phone I got it instantly. Battery optimisation for apps may not have worked.
Hi,
Could you solve this issue? If so, how?
Thanks.
I had the same issue a few weeks ago after playing around and disabling apps/services I didn't think i needed . I had to re-enable the "Moto" app, go into "Moto Display" and enable "Peek Dsiplay". That fixed notifications coming through the locked screen for me.
My widgets are very slow to update. It may take him a half hour or longer to update. I have checked battery optimization is not on for those apps, although one of those two apps that I have the problem with background data is grayed out. So I can't turn on allow background data. Not sure why that would be great out.
Any thoughts?
Wunderlist Task List.
DTG/GTD
But, I did some things poking around, don't remember for sure what all, but I had read that changing the Animation Scale etc to .5 would help. I did change that.
Before posting, I had found that Wunderlist was on battery optimization. Changing it didn't appear to help, so I posted. But now, it seems to be working. Maybe it's fixed. I'll post back in a day or two and indicate if it is still working or has stopped again.
Well, no, I'm not saying that. I'm just saying that's the only change I made, and at that point it had started working.
Are you having same problem, albeit different widgets?
FYI... mine is now not working again. I'm not surprised. But am frustrated.
Update...
I am finding that it does eventually update. It feels like the phone has been taken over by something. But, then, other things don't seem slow.
I just installed Gsam battery monitor, and ran the ADB cmds to try to identify apps using battery. Maybe I'll find something using a lot of battery and hence cycles.
My battery does seem to be going down quite a bit faster than it should.
It cleared up for a while after a factory reset,But it's back, and, I find that notifications from Lightflow come in 30 minutes after recieved.
It's like the phone is operating in molasses.
I'm beginning to think this phone is crap. If I switch back to my old Mate 9 it works fine.

certain apps aren't syncing well with pie. i had this same issue with Beautiful widgets, could not get the weather or time to update unless i manually updated it.
Under <Problem APP's> App Info > Battery
1.A Make sure the app is allowed background activity
1.B Make sure the app is not set to "optimized"
. (note: by default, the optimized list will only show apps that HAVEN'T been optimized, . you have to select "ALL" at the top to see all apps.)
Under <Problem APP's> App Info > Mobile Data
2.A Make sure "allow background data usage" is enabled.
2.B Make sure "allow app while data saver is on" if you have data saver enabled.
. (enable this if you want to be sure an app will receive background data.)

Thanks for the suggestions. I don't seem to be having any luck with that. Had already done those.
But!! ...
I just found a post after doing a global search for another issue I am having that seems to coincide with the widget issues, which is, Play Store freezing during updates. The post was in a Xaiomi forum. He said that he found if he had blue tooth on, his play store would constantly freeze. He turned off BT, and rebooted, and it worked.
I just did the same thing...and it is working...both the play store, and widget updates.
Interesting to have the great feeling of success, along with the frustration of a new (newly realized) issue yet remaining (BT).
Looking for a little further and through the settings on Bluetooth, I turned off Bluetooth scan. Now at first I would still have problems with Bluetooth on even though Bluetooth to scan was off. That of course would be very quickly after turning it on or off at cetera.
so this morning I get up having left Bluetooth on all night, with scan off, and everything's working fine. I did find last night that when I would first turn Bluetooth on even with skin off, the problems would be there. But of course when you first turn Bluetooth on it's going to scan anyway.
so I will update this thread little later after I see a little more about weather. Just having scan off actually cures the problem, in case someone else runs into this and it helps them.
I use Newton mail like I have on every other phone I have used for the last few years and have seen some issues since I got the Find X5 Pro. Initially I was getting no notifications through despite notifications being enabled and all background settings toggled on under settings, I'd have to open the app and when I did it would refresh and the emails would load. Then after a reinstal and restart it started to work.
Today it stopped working again out of the blue and when I checked settings the background refresh toggles had changed to off, I toggled them back on and emails started to come through again.
No idea if any other apps are affected, certainly no key ones are but I have not had issues like this since I used a Huawei.
Anybody else experiened this?
Hey, I've noticed the same issue with Gmail, and Kijiji app. Did you find a solution or work-around?
I toggled the settings back on and it seems ok again. Unsure why they turned off as for the original issue with no notifications even though background refresh was on I reinstalled the app and restarted phone.
