Hello, can someone try a usb-c to HDMI adapter with the Nokia 9 please ?
It looks like the phone is compatible according to this technical specifications document but still no proof

Thank you guys
I've used HDMI output over USB-C before to my TV. It works fine.

Thanks Harfainx ! Which HDMI adapter did you use ?
What was the resolution of the TV ? full hd or 4k ?
Can you post a photo ?
I can't post links right now, i uploaded a photo to flickr.
Search flickr for:
Nokia 9 PureView Display Mirror via HDMI
Connected with an random USB 3.1 to HDMI adapter (Ligawo 6518958).
I paid less then 10€ in 2016 for it.
Best

Here is the link for those who don't want to search www.flickr.com/photos/[email protected]/40745700753/in/photolist-255yngX
It looks like Ligawo 6518958 is a 4k adapter but if you have a Full HD TV it can only output at the 1080p max resolution of the TV
It would be intersting to try with a 4k TV to see if the phone can output 4k but again, thank you guys ! :good:
Using this one, works great:

I don't have one offhand to try out, but in the reviews people have tried this with 4k monitors successfully. I wouldn't think the phone would make a difference in this case.
I've used an adaptor to DisplayPort and it also worked well. Don't know at what resolution it was, I was only curious of it works or not
The USB-C to HDMI cable without DisplayPort (the one from the old Huawei Mate 10 Pro) works without problems in the Nokia 9 PureView
It does not work, the same cable, in GooglePixel 3XL or in the OnePlus 6T that if they need a cable with DisplayPort modification and more expensive and difficult to get

Hey guys just want to check that this is the right cable that'll work with my Galaxy S arriving in a few days
http://www.trademe.co.nz/Electronics-photography/TVs/Cables-aerials/auction-314849140.htm
So that should fit in my 3.5mm slot and give me video & audio output to the TV?
Also anyone had experience with these? What is the quality like?
Is it usable for watching a DivX movie or something on a friends TV?
there is a topic in the accessories forum
the cable you need is a nokia something something forgot the model #
i bough it on ebay for $3 free shipping, it works!!!!!!!
found it!
Nokia CA-75U
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=7458985&postcount=47
Does it have to be that Nokia cable? Are they not the same?
I'm using Nokia's 3.5 jack video cable.
DivX quality is quite poor, I would not recommend watching over it, if it is a large screen tv, I've tried it on a small scale screen (23") where the video is watchable.
Is there not an HD cable available?
there is no such thing, because it is coming out of a coax 3.5 hole
you can't pass enough power to produce a high res video

U should review the following post
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=737825
and it doesn't end on the first page
did you notice that is not using the 3.5 plug?
they are trying to hack the USB to display HDMI which is currently not supported and not working
i found an App on Android Market to "enable" HDMI output via USB, but it's not compatible with our phone
then you will also need a cable from ebay to do the conversion from USB to HDMI
I did, lol, it's in the name of the post...
Probably the only way (if it is possible) to output HD signal on this phone is through microUSB.
PS
Through a cable of course...

This phone doesn't do MHL but it uses Slimport. As far as I know there are only hdmi and vga adapters. Maybe find hdmi to composite rca? Not sure if it would work though...

slimport cost too much just for "try" , Is there some fake cheaper option ? just dont wanna take a risk and paying 20$ and it'll not work.

No, sorry. If you have a computer monitor then you could do slimport to vga but current devices aren't made with output to crt tv in mind.
I use the Netgear PTV3000 with this HDMI to Composite / AV Video Converter and it works fine. Miracast has a noticeable lag. I also use this slimport adapter directly to an HDMI TV but I haven't tried it with the HDMI to composite adapter. I saw one Miracast to HDMI + AV adapter by Visson.
I'm looking for an MHL adapter for the Axon Pro that actually works.
There are too many around that are questionable that they even work.
The ZTE Axon Pro has so damn many nice options and features.
I would love to take this adapter to friends or relatives TV that have no Chromecast or Miracast, to show pictures or videos.
Has anyone gotten their Axon Pro to work with an MHL adapter?
If so, please provide a link for it.
Thanks in advance.
I bought Icy Box to USB C to HDMI adapter. Plugged it in but nothing happens. It says it works with alternate mode, whatever that is.
Is the Axon 7 MHL capable ?
Does this phone support audio/video output through the usb-c port? What about the 7 pogo pins? Thanks!

I would imagine that it does, however if it does not then it will almost certainly support displaylink tech which uses a dock as the driver for video out, audio works too but you may not be able to charge whilst using it.
I've used this on the Oneplus 5 which did not have video out of any kind.
Docks can be a little pricey but so long as it states "Displaylink" Technology then it should work.
You will also need the app to get it to work.
Latency is on par with video out.

The ZTE Nubia Red Magic 3 is not compatible with USB-C to HDMI adapters, at least for now, Nubia said that maybe they will add HDMI support in their next update but not sure... The only thing we can do is continue asking them to add HDMI support on their Red Magic facebook page
If they don't add it it's a shame for a gaming smartphone not to be compatible with HDMI adapters

If direct usb-c doesn't work then you could still use displayink
Same thing only it's more expensive, requires an app and it can't charge at the same time.

I think it also has more input lag than smartphones with direct usb-c support, just don't buy "flagship" smartphones without hdmi support they are not worth it, it should be a standard on high-end smartphones

That's not true at all..
I've got multiple videos on my channel proving that, theres also one in the OnePlus 5 forum too made by myself.
But I agree that Direct hdmi output food be standard

I wasn't comparing them I was saying it's a possible solution if it didn't support it.

I agree it's still a better solution than wireless display solutions like chromecast or miracast or other slow and high input lag wireless display stuff for uncompatible smartphones, but I also have seen that DisplayLink consumes way more battery than direct HDMI
And displaylink adapters are also more expensive, but again still better than wireless connection :good:
What a failure phone. A pubg streamer bought this garbage and he is not able to connect it to elgato capture card. All of these chinese phones are GARBAGE just stay away from them if you want hdmi.

Hello, can someone try a usb-c to HDMI adapter with the Oppo Reno please ?
Oppo has added USB-C to HDMI support on Oppo R17 Pro and RX17 Pro with ColorOS 5.2 so it should work with Oppo Reno but still no proof

I did! But I have bad news... It doesn't do anything when connected to the TV via a USB-C to HDMI adapter.
I did some searching for you and it seems that in order for it to work, the device needs to have MHL hardware support which the Reno does not.
A full list of devices with MHL support can be found here:

Thank you for trying ! Which adapter did you use ? Isn't it faulty ? Does it work with another smartphone, tablet or laptop ?
MHL is dead because it use micro USB, not USB-C, the last device with MHL was Galaxy Note 4, now it's video out over USB-C, it's already integrated in Snapdragon SOCs but the smartphone need to have USB 3.0 not 2.0 and software support need to be added from the smartphone maker.
It's weird that it's not working on Oppo Reno with Snapdragon 710 because it works on Oppo RX17 Pro with same Snapdragon 710 https://www.facebook.com/opposingapore/videos/coloros-52-screen-streaming/345614832677862/ , also on Oppo Reno 10x Zoom with Snapdragon 855 https://forum.xda-developers.com/reno-10x-zoom/help/oppo-reno-10x-supports-hdmi-usb-3-1-t3936891

You clearly know more than I do on the topic! Ha. Nope, it's not faulty as I use it with my HP Spectre laptop and it works fine.
The adapter I'm using is this one:

So not like it's some cheapo one.
Am I supposed to initiate the screen share within the phones OS do you know? I simply plugged it in like I do my laptop and nothing happened on either the phone or TV

I looked the customer reviews of your USB-C Hub on the amazon link and some people tried it with their smartphone (like the Mate 20 Pro) and it's working so it should work with all Android smartphones with USB-C to HDMI support. I don't understand why Oppo RX17 Pro with Snapdragon 710 and Android 8 is compatible with HDMI but Oppo Reno with Snapdragon 710 and Android 9 is not compatible. On many Android phones you simply have to plug it in and it mirrors on the TV instantly so it should be the same on Oppo, but if there is an option it should be called "Screen Streaming" on Oppo, can you see an option to activate this or any other "external display or mirroring" option maybe in the display settings ? I doubt about it but who knows ?

Yeah it's an odd one I'll give you that! And all the screen share options in the settings relate to wireless sharing and not wired.
I even tried my wife's Pixel 2 and while I can't work out how to get it to share the screen via the USB C to HDMI adapter, the TV does recognise it when I plug it in... Which isn't the case when I plug the Reno in.
Sooooo... Seems it's not supported in afraid

So there is a screen streaming option in the settings but only wireless settings ? It seems like Oppo didn't add USB-C to HDMI support or maybe it only has USB 2.0 unlike Oppo RX17 Pro and Oppo Reno 10x zoom, but USB version is'nt written anywhere even on the official Oppo Reno website page https://www.oppo.com/en/smartphone-reno/specs I will ask on Oppo's Facebook page and post here as they answer. The Pixel smartphones are nearly the only high-end Snapdragon 8xx smartphones with USB 3.0 that are not compatible with USB-C to HDMI adapters, Google disabled it on purpose because they want you to buy chromecast but they are wireless and so huge input lag in comparison to wired HDMI adapter and chromecast are even not usefull anymore on smart TVs because they already have built-in wireless smartphone screen streaming. Again, thank you for trying it @sheppy1 ! :good:

Yeah that's correct, here's what I see (screenshot attached).
DLNA and Multi Screen Interaction both onot allow wireless connectivity to supported TVs
Ah! That sounds right hence the TV detected the Pixel but didn't allow for anything to be streamed to it.
Let me know how you get on with your query to OPPO anyway and if you need anything else from me.
And you're welcome
I tried it with the Reno 10x zoom. It works but doesn't support Netflix or some other apps. Looks geest works great except Netflix what really sucks. I tried everythimg there is to trie but cant het Netflix to work.
