Hello there!
I have a rooted Note 9 on Stock Oreo ROM .
I used Titanium Backup to remove everything related to Bixby or the Samsung App Store .
But for some reason, Bixby keeps reinstalling itself after a few hours or a reboot.
How is this possible?
It drains the hell out of my battery...
Please post ideas on how to prevent this.
Best regards.

Why not just freeze them ? Don't remove them ? i was going to suggest Adhell 3 but that works on the Knox framework and you have tripped Knox via root!

Hello everyone,
So i have towel rooted the S5, it's great and works fine except for a couple things. Like the title says, neither s-voice or s-health update. They both keep telling me they have updates but, when I try to update the app force closes. Unfortunately "blank" has stopped. I was wondering is this because of towel root or another reason. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

I do not have xposed installed. Does this mean I just have to wipe the cache from the settings app?
Yes, thats what he means. Going to app manager and clearing cache
I had updated everything before I used towelroot, so I can only help in saying that a few days ago I updated with no problem.
I might also try a difference between WIFI and Data attempting to update.

I just tried to go through app manager and clear the cache and it still doesn't fix the problem. I'm thinking the only way to get around this would to be uproot and then update and root again. My only complaint about that way is - do I have to do that everytime these apps want to update?

I've updated plenty of apps since then. I wouldn't get carried away right off the bat.
There are several factors that could be preventing it from updating that are out of your control. Next thing I'd try, a stupid, yet simple. turn off, pull battery, turn on and try again. If that doesn't work just wait 12 or 24 hours before attempting again.
Like I said before, stuff out of your control, servers, networks, etc.

FOUND IT!
I'm sorry for all the trouble guys but I found the problem. What I forgot was that I froze the Samsung appstore app from within titanium backup. Realizing those are Samsung apps and not the playstore apps and defrosting the Samsung appstore is what fixed the problem.
Thank you again for trying to help. Also really sorry for the trouble. Will hit "thanks" to the responders!

I got the s5 Active and recently rooted and flashed safestrap. I was wondering what the best way to remove the bloat from the stock rom was? Thanks in advance.

Depends on what you want to do. You can install a ROM that is bloatware free, freeze apps with Titanium Backup, or you can manually uninstall them.
For the first option you would just have to search for a bloat free ROM such as the one I'm running: Extreme Debloat.
For the second option, you would root your phone, install Titanium Backup, and just go down the list freezing one application at a time until you're satisfied. (I only specifically froze the AT&T apps in my app drawer, nothing outside of that).
For the last option, there are a few applications that you just run and they uninstall a "list" of bloatware. I don't remember where I saw it, but the application was made by someone on XDA.
I'd just use TiBu and remove what you want instead of a ROM that someone else decided what stays and goes as a lot of stuff is dependent on other stuff
Thanks for the help guys.
Hi all so i have question, wasn't too sure on where to post it at and seems like this is the place, forgive me if I'm wrong. But i have a question, I have a ATT UNLOCKED Note 3 being used on T-Mobile, if i insert my att sim card that's deactivated, and update the phone to Lollipop, will the root go away? If so how do I re-root the ATT Note 3 with the Lollipop firmware, currently I have 4.4.1.
Thanks!

More than likely the update will fail to install since you are rooted. If you have Safestrap installed, you can flash this in Safestrap to be on rooted lollipop http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=59666958&postcount=2

You can put it on your internal storage then flash it what way. Use Safestrap 3.75, if you don't have it. https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=95832962473398959 It will not wipe your internal storage. :good:

Every other method out there says i'd need a sd card because it wipes everything, would putting it on my internal brick the phone? because i don't want to take that risk as i've had very difficult time unbricking last time someone did something without too much knowledge.
Thanks for your help btw.

They say seeing is believing, so here is a video http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x2o7eke_oc1_tech Just freeze knox and if you get "gapps has stopped" message, go to application manager , then to all apps then uninstall the gapps update (Google Play services). So you know, you can't use Xposed with Lollipop. If you have any problems these are the STOCK N900AUCUCNC2 ODIN Files http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=54803130&postcount=136 Watch the video and you will see it will take about 8+ minutes for the first boot. Knox still at 0X0

Once you uninstall play services restart it (phone) and go to play store and let it update and it'll work fine then. Exposed installer and Viper4android will not work on lollipop. Trust me I know. I'm running this rom right now http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-3-att/development/rom-note-4-port-evolution-1-0-t2982296 it's not lollipop.

I never use any battery app and keep power saving off. I get about 2 days out of battery, but I use my Tab Pro more than anything else.

I use package disabler pro (play store) on my AT&T S6. Works great and lets you disable whatever you want without root and without a computer.

Any worry about disabling something essential and causing a boot loop?? Usually the solution is to reflash the stock rom back on, but as far as I know, the Active stock rom still isn't released yet
Ditto on Package disabler pro, it almost makes me not need root. Granted I still want it, cause when someone won't let me have control of my own system.
Hey there,
I have been trying to debloat my phone but whenever i uninstall AVG the phone can not boot to the system. I am on the latest firmware 47.2.A.11.228 and i am uninstalling apps using Titanium Backup. My phone is also unlocked and Magisk is my root of choice.

Son of a *****! This always happened to me when I've installed Pie but hadn't pinpointed it to this app, I thought it was just Pie being glitchy with TB so have stuck with Oreo. Might give Pie another whirl this week and try and figure that out.

Actually I found out that other people had a similar problem and it's just best to freeze AVG.
One other thing I found out is that if you plan on using Gmail app you need to keep Chrome browser at least frozen. If you delete it Gmail won't work.
Weird I didn't come across this when I removed it. I deleted the AVG folder from system apps via TWRP though and not from TB.
